I had a very uncomfortable situation here. I arrived for a session and found that there are no private spaces for sessions. A client is expected to sit in an area, elbow to elbow with 2 other customers and 3 practitioners, none of which were wearing masks. And discuss what health issues have triggered the visit. That was incredibly odd and I've never seen that before. I appreciate that they moved me to a private bath area for the prepaid situation but the practitioner practically shrieked at me when I asked about masks and vaccine status. We were in a very small bathroom-size space with limited air flow and she was not wearing a mask. As a family member is immune compromised, I must always assess my risks and I asked them to wear a mask. In short, I felt I had to fight for basic safe practices and made to feel like I was "asking too much". It was the opposite of relaxing and healing. If I had not prepaid this session, I would have walked out. No matter what your politics are, Covid 19 is still a deadly reality for people who have immune compromised folks in their family. Any business should be willing to reasonably discuss this with customers if there are red flags like multiple customers squeezed into small spaces without masks. If you are considering this place, I highly recommend you visit first and check it out. If you are okay with these practices, that's great. If you are looking for the privacy and safety most people expect in a spa visit, this is not the place. read more

I've been here before and I was honestly extremely happy with my previous visit, I did a float and it was one of the best experiences of my life. My second visit though, left a bit to be desired. I went for a float, just like the first time, but from the moment I entered the room, I was sneezing. I'm allergic to cats and mold. I scoured the room but could not find any mold or cats, so something was amiss. My best friend who went with me had a much better time. I dunno. Maybe it was my recent diet or something? I can only speculate. My first visit was 5 stars. If it wasn't for the sneezing issue, this visit would be too. I hope the next time I come I don't have the sneezing issue again. read more

Floating was a neat and unique experience: a first time for us, but it wont be the last! My wife and i came for the 90min floating, but metta also has reflexology and massage services as well. After a quick waiver and recap of the process by the owner, we went down to two of the floating rooms. (Since this is suppossed to be a sensory deprivation experience, you do it alone. No option to float in the same room or pool like you might with a couples massage) The rooms are heated, and after stripping down and taking a shower, you enter the tub (approx 7ft x 4ft x 1ft) filled with a water/Epsom salt mix, heated to 93 degrees to match the temperature of the outside of your body. Entering into the solution, the 90 lbs of Epsom salt dissolved in the 9-12" water completely supports your weight as you float effortlessly. Once the music fades away and you hit the light switch, the room is completely pitch black. At this point, everything is silent, dark and effortless. Then it was time to find some balance in the pool, lean your head back until its completely being supported by the water, and just try to zone out and relax. At approx the 60min mark, the music fades in, marking the end of the session. Turn on the light, exit the pool and take a shower, rinsing off all the salt water solution. Bathrobes are provided if you wish. There is a changing area right outside the rooms, with mirrors, lights, hair dryers and Q-tips. Overall, the experience was very relaxing, as we both fell asleep. Highly recommended and would definitely do again. Facilities were very clean and staff was very friendly. Veteran discount. Parking out front at meters or in back in small lot (which could be marked better). read more

This place is really nice. You feel nice and relaxed as soon as you walk in there. Their employees are nice and welcoming. They are knowledgeable and take their time to explain all procedures to you before you start. They have a serene and clean establishment that makes your spirit calm and you are able to relax and feel comfortable. I did the floating in epsom salt. It literally feels like you are in a place where nothing else exits but silence and space. It's weightless and empty, but you feel secured and safe LOL. I'm trying to explain how I felt but I think I'm just blabbing here!! Go try it for yourself! You won't be disappointment! Plus, the epson salt you float can be extremely beneficial! read more

My mom and I went for floatation therapy this morning. I'm pretty sure the lights in the rooms weren't supposed to stay on, but were the whole time. The room temp was a bit chilly If you have any exposed areas that had been wet. I wound up pulling my body parts down in the water to warm up. Being cold also made me have to go to the bathroom, even though I'd gone just prior to the float. To be noted, I'm not the type that is cold all the time. If anything, I run warm, my mom is post menopausal and runs hot and also felt the room air was cold. I told the woman at the front desk and she said I shouldn't have been moving around. It's pretty hard to not move around in there and since when is there only one way to float? I told her my concern was for future customers also being cold and they might want to consider raising the room temp. She went into some explanation about air filtration and the bippity boppity boo. Know-it-all Nancy apparently is more concerned about her physics equation than customers comfort or feedback. Based off her attitude and the fact than being cold made me have to pee and end my session early, I won't be back. read more

It's unfortunate when you tell your father to go to Metta Relaxation Company in Bethlehem to get reflexology done and it will be so peaceful and relaxing. Then to find out the owner had a long time friend or standing customer come in with a gift and the owner Stephanie decided to do reflexology on her and than chatted the whole time. It was as if my father was at the beauty salon listening to what the ladies had going on that week! Instead of going in to get relaxed he came out stressed and with high blood pressure! Than to top it off the owner called my mother back to explain that's how the set up has always been (meaning sitting in a chair with with another customer next to you) and didn't even take ownership that she went against her own advertisement of a quiet experience for relaxing and she didn't even apologize. The set up isn't the problem when it's quiet which how it's supposed to be. The therapist Jack was great but unfortunate that his boss put him in a situation that he had to say to my dad "well you have to learn how to relax in the real world." No you don't Jack, you come to Metta Reflexology Company to relax and you pay good money for it $$$. So upset for my dad because my experience was always good and it's upsetting this happened to him. read more

Had a great float yesterday at Metta. Clean relaxing environment and friendly staff. These are float rooms, not float tanks. The float rooms are much more relaxing and open than the pods or tanks I have experienced in the past. First time floaters should check out these float rooms at Metta, as they allow the whole experience to be much more enjoyable and relaxing. They also have reflexology, massage and energy therapy. Online booking was easy and reliable. Definitely recommended for a relaxing experience in the Lehigh Valley. read more

I wanted to try floating but they were booked so I chanced a massage. The place is very chic, well designed, comfortable in a renovated townhouse. You have to sign off on like a hundred disclaimers on the register form. I have no doubt of the therapist's expertise but the method used did not cut it for me. Most of the massage was done over a blanket (!) and the rest was trigger point reflexology and "compression" which is just being leaned on. I was expecting more deep muscle. I left with the same knots I went in with and even some extra pain two days later. The cost (which was more than competitive in my experience) plus tip left me somewhat annoyed. Almost a 5! Need some work... First, let me start out by saying I would get that type of treatment again. Thank you staff for accommodating my change. This was the first time doing "floating" and it won't be my last. A few hiccups along the way as far as this particular spa and some sound recommendations: 1. the knob that turned the light off in the tub fell off. it was completely dark. It took me a few minutes to find it in the very slippery tub. A very non-relaxing--yes, stressful-- moment! Once found, I decided to keep the light on...which diminished my relaxation time. 2. I would recommend having two towels to dry off with and at the very least a towel on the floor for when we come out of the tub. We use the first towel to dry off after the first shower and to use the same towel within an hour or so was a relaxation damper. 3. Tell people up front they have the option of getting dressed in the restrooms if the steamy room doesn't work. 4. Be sensitive to the various body types that come for the treatment by having various sized robes. Be sensitive by accessing that when someone walks in and when you assign a room have that size there. We're not going to know what their size you have hanging until after we've disrobed. It is not at that time we can put our heads out the door and yell for a larger size. When I do treatments at Ritz or other locations they assign me a locker that has my size--not based on asking--but based on observation. 5. I would recommend you telling people to get there 20 minutes ahead of time instead of 15 especially if we have to watch a video, use restroom, fill out survey, etc. Not everyone is going to do this online. 6. Let people know upfront you have tea candles option available if they don't want to be completely in the dark. 7. There's a lot of information in the video. I recommend having a sign in the room with numbered steps, visible.so that if we forget "ear plugs BEFORE shower or after?" we can see it clearly on the wall. 8. TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES TO KNOCK BEFORE TRYING TO ENTER. I was in the process of getting dressed and he attempted to come in. I thank God I had the door locked. What was most disturbing about this, honestly, is that there was no apology and the owner did not even acknowledge my standing at the payment desk nor my departure. Not even with a word of goodbye. The concept of "floating" is great. If the employee hadn't tried to come in and if the things after didn't occur I would have given it a 5 star. The treatment 5-star. The rest is really 3.5. As a non-profit CEO, customer service is number one. It was the day after my birthday and I was trying to create a full relaxation based on the work I do. read more

I have had nothing but amazing experiences at Metta. Stephanie is super helpful and friendly. I have chronic migraines and I go to float so that I get the benefit of the sensory deprivation to help with noise and light sensitivity along with relaxing in the tub and absorbing a lot of magnesium. You can float with the light on or off, which is nice and there is a shower in the room. It is fragrance-free there so it doesn't smell like cleaner or strong perfumes, which is nice. The rooms are spotless and the water in the tank gets filtered between customers. I highly recommend doing this over a float tank where you are enclosed in a capsule that can be very claustrophobic. read more
