We had spent the day in Hunspach visiting the Maginot Line museums, and we were working our way…read moretowards Verdun. I was traveling with my two college-aged children. This hotel was very easy to find, and as it happened there was an open parking space right in front. Parking for this hotel is street parking, so that was very lucky for us! The check in clerk was extremely friendly, spoke English fairly well, and went out of his way to make sure everything was as we needed. He demonstrated how to work the night entry door in case we were out late, gave us restaurant recommendations, and just couldn't be more accomodating! We were just up one floor at the front of the hotel. Our room slept 3, had two large window/doors opening to the street, and was very clean. Our bathroom was actually in two parts - as you entered our room you went through a little hallway, with the toilet in a room on the right, and the shower/sink in a room on the left. Both modern, with nice towels and very clean. The wifi worked well and was free. There is no air conditioning, but we opened the big doors and that brought in a nice evening breeze so we were good. The hotel is located right in the shopping district area, and within a block or two there are many different types of restaurants that you can choose from. As a whole we didn't have any issues with noise while sleeping (with the exception of someone who choose to vomit very loudly in the middle of the night right below our windows! Not the hotel's fault obviously, but was a little disturbing!) In the morning we had to be on the road before the restaurant opened (it was a Sunday morning and they opened for breakfast later on Sundays than during the rest of the week). But as we were loading the car we saw that they were placing pastries in the showcase, so we asked if we could buy some to go and they were very kind and put together an order for us. Tip - get the brioche rolls! To die for - seriously! All in all, the hotel served its purpose, was clean and friendly, and would definitely be a place we would stop again if we were in the area.

La cuisine y est traditionnelle mais gastronomique et délicate. Parmi les spécialités, il faut signaler le foie gras maison qui se mange poêlé aux coings en entrée ou en escalope sur un filet de boeuf. Les produits de la mer se taillent une belle place sur la carte avec des assiettes de fruits de mer, des huîtres, des bigorneaux, des tourteaux, des homards... La présentation des plats est soignée et participe aux plaisirs des yeux et de la bouche. Le service est impeccable. Bref, une étape à ne pas manquer quand on est dans la région.
