My partner and I spent a week in Istanbul this September, in the historic "Old Town" (Sultanhamet) district. Tripadvisor gave this restaurant a high review, and one evening, with newly met friends from New York, we gave it a try. WOW. We had a variety of fish and meat dishes, but two of shared a Cappadocia style dish made in a clay pot that the waiter cracks open with a large knife. O-my-god was it delicious - the flavors of lamb thoroughly penetrate the potatoes and veggies.Wine was reasonably priced. We decided that it was so delicious that we visited it one more time on our last evening before we flew off for Israel.
There are many restaurants on this block, and we tried several, all OK, one very good - but this was exceptional. Staff was courteous and attentive. It was still warm enough to eat outside when we visited, but at this time of year, it won't be.
