This is my second Lasik surgery in 40 years in Birmingham. My vision in 1990 was 2800 before…read moresurgery and I had extensive astigmatism. I hated glasses and since I hunt wilderness areas by myself for weeks at a time, losing my glasses would have been really bad. Dr, Sarah Hayes did my first surgery the first year Lasik was allowed in USA. My corrected vision went from 2800 to 2015! I had been blind all my life and now had hawk like vision. I was dumfounded!! Now 35 years later my vision had deteriorated to 2070. Dr, Hayes had retired and after some research I settled on Dr. Michaelson in Birmingham, Al. He is an intelligent and interesting person to talk to with excellent people skills. On the day of surgery, he was a different person. No joking around or laughing but all business. He is very thorough and over next few months I met with him numerous times for follow-up. So now after 3 months my vision is 2020 and getting better after each visit. I have 1 more visit in 6 months but I expect my vision to stay at 2020 or even improve some more. So if you are tired of wearing glasses that get broken, slide down your nose, always needing cleaning or just looking goofy in glasses, don't be afraid to get Lasik surgery. Its somewhat expensive but it will be the best investment you will ever make. I have gone now though 2 Lasik surgeries and have had no problems at all on either surgery. I consider Dr. Michaelson to be the best Lasik surgeon in Birmingham and possibly the entire South East.

I looked around to find the doctor I believed had the lowest complication rates and was very competent. Now I'm honestly not sure where his price is compared to others but he was definitely the right choice. Extremely thorough and took his time to fine out exactly what my needs were. I am a plastic surgeon so I needed great vision up close but also wanted things far away to be clear. We opted for monocular vision lasik. The surgery went great. I still can not believe I waited so lone. Great doctor who cares.

To me, it is challenging to find a plastic surgeon you can so trust. Especially one who will determine the outcome of your looks, self esteem etc. I certainly do not want to end up on Botched! Dr Cohn is extremely thorough of his measurements and findings. He goes out of his way to explain specific details, putting anxiety at ease. The office staff is extremely professional, friendly and makes you feel at home so to speak. Although, I'm still healing from my breast reduction procedure, I highly recommend Dr Cohn as his attention to specific detail is working to my benefit. No more neck or back pain.

For over a year I requested phones calls to speak with my daughter's physician or to get appointments to obtain a specialist care. Getting an appointment is a joke, the nurse practitioner should not be able to see any patients due to a coldness that no one in healthcare can have. I mean hello, should be obvious. All my daughter's symptoms were ignored while she was in pain. We were able to set an appointment at a different doctors office and wow the difference. Labs were taken or drawn, a full examination was done. That's care. IMO this place needs to close and work on how to care for patients, how to treat concerns as real concerns, and just I don't know I can't think of any more horrible words to describe this St Vincent's without cussing. Sis, this ain't for us. Find someone to provide care and not just let writhe in pain for over a year. One star is mandatory but know in my heart, this is a big fat 0
