I would not go to Metamorphosis! I went in about a month ago for a rook and forward helix piercing. Turns out the forward helix jewelry was too small and was embedded into my ear to the point that I needed surgery to remove it! Cathy, the piercer was very talkative and made me feel like she was focusing more on talking rather than piercing! The vibe was very open, everyone seemed nice but the front desk man kept asking if I signed papers and asked to see my ID 4 times because he couldn't remember if I was of age. I signed up for Yelp just so I could write a review of this place. Cathleen was so wonderful, comforting, and made me feel incredibly safe despite how nervous I was. I had a messed up piercing I got done at another shop that I needed to get fixed. She was able to quickly remove the embedded jewelry, re-pierce my ear, and get me set up with the proper jewelry. She was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and her workstation was super clean & organized. If you're looking for a place to get a piercing, I cannot recommend this place enough! Honestly where do I begin I got my nipples pierced here and one of them isn't straight on or deep enough in like it didn't heal right even though I did everything they told me to do. please , please , please do not get a piercing here. i got my anti-eyebrow done here and it was a complete disaster. On top of taking 10x as long as a typical piercing should take, she pierced my face and the holes she marked were too close together, so she had to do it again. walking out with 2 extra bleeding holes in my face that scar and $70 down the drain. the piercing was sitting completely wrong on my face and had to be taken out. jesus christ can someone get this place shut down . please read more

I was checking Yelp to see where they moved to and I was surprised to only find one review. I can say that my experience here was nothing short of fantastic. Metamorphosis has a piercer named Cathy! DO NOT HAVE HER TOUCH YOU! She is awful. She bruised my two daughters by breaking blood vessels in their ears, she pierced then crooked, All 3 of us got nasty infections. My daughters was so severe, she developed a fever, swollen lymph nodes and super infected ear. Thank GOD we found another piercer to help us! She immediately took out all our earrings, drained the pus out and get this " she freakin took out nickel from inside my daughters ear!!!!!! If it wasn't for Katie" the piercer that helped us as much as she could, we could have been worse! Thanks Katie!! I spent almost $300 on her garbage! Cathy shouldn't be a piercer! She is putting people at risk! Obviously nothing was sterile or clean. She tells me that I have no clue what I'm talking about when I told her what had happened to us. What does that even mean. When I went in for a cartilage piercing, my ear was pierced with an outdated nostril screw (not meant for cartilage piercings at all and actually no longer standard for noses either). It would not heal because the screw was improperly placed and I had to get the piercing fixed at another shop that used more updated jewelry. Perfectly nice people, but I think they're using outdated piercing methods that can lead to longer and more painful healing times. read more

Got my nose ring changed yesterday. I had it pierced and the ring was just too long I was given (somewhere else). They fit me in very quick. I found myself wishing I had gotten the initial piercing done there. They were so comforting and sweet both him and his wife. A girl ahead of me was getting her nose pierced and it seemed like a much better experience then I had somewhere else. And the kicker of it all was I heard her checkout and I paid $100 more at this other place. He didn't make her buy a bunch of useless cleanser and crap like I was forced to. No good. do your homework and spend your money somewhere better especially for tattoos remember they're for Life they're worth good money. I have had two tattoos there and one piercing and went in once to buy body jewelry. I have been in with friends getting work done. The owners are rude and typically so is this staff. They occasionally get good tattoo artists but they Don't last. I assume they don't keep anyone because of their ethics and attitude. I have a lot of friends who have been there I do not know anyone who has ever been satisfied with the tattoo they got there. some people were not just unsatisfied but felt they got ripped off and needed a cover-up. One friend went back a total of three times for the same tattoo because the ink kept falling out. she never had this problem with any other Tattoo artist. if you don't fit the mold at first glance they treat you like your money isn't worth their time or maybe they are just that rude to everyone. Your money time and potential bodily harm isn't worth it. Their body jewelry is garbage and overpriced. One of the owners even had her sister complain about a tattoo she had done there. It was decent size and terrible. They are rude to their neighbors in the building and on the Block and to their fellow tattoo shops and artists. They have very bad politics. I'm just a regular old Patron who will never set foot in there again. I Was a Fool to keep going back but it was a matter of convenience or so it seemed. Don't waste your time at metamorphosis tattoo I'm honestly shocked they have good reviews. They deserve zero Stars read more

I got my nose piercing changed by Dorian at the beginning of this summer. Although I found him to be rude and condescending, I went back later this summer to change my jewelry again after a summer of believing my nose was just having a bad reaction to the jewelry because it was red and irritated. But when asking me how I was caring for it, he proceeded to explain that it was not a reaction to the metal, but rather my face wash. Fine. When looking through his jewelry container, all of the different kinds were mixed in together and he proceeded to touch all of them with his ungloved hands. He told me to use a saline solution, which he did not himself stock in his place of business, but also to buy baby soap. When I was asking a clarifying question about specific brands of baby soap, he rudely claimed to buy "whatever label I thought was cutest." I was offended by his sexist response to me trying to specify how best to heal my nose. After asking if he sold gold rings, he said no, which is also fine. However, when I asked if he knew of any other piercers in the area who might, he rudely kept saying no. Now, I found it strange that a professional quality piercer wouldn't know of any other piercing shops nearby, mainly because past piercers I have interacted with have even been able to recommend shops halfway across the other country. Luckily, I was with a friend at the time who remembered a tattoo and piercing shop nearby. Upon entering the second piercing shop, my experience was immediately 100 times better. The piercer at Ink Inc Tattooing took me back to look at my piercing after noticing a keloid starting to form in addition to the redness and irritation. I asked him if he knew of the piercer at Metamorphosis, and he even knew of Dorian's name. Then, he told me that Dorian didn't even bother to use a seamless nose ring or even any proper type of nose ring to put in my nose. The one Dorian sold to me was the same quality as that of on a keychain! The piercer at Ink Inc said that the ring Dorian put in my nose was too thick for the hole, and that he incorrectly used pliers to cross over the two ends of the ring. This meant that every time the ring ends passed through the hole, it was gouging the inside of my nostril tissue, creating a constantly fresh wound and scar tissue! Even more, the ring Dorian inserted was too small for my nose, hugging too close to the nostril and causing it to be irritated nonstop. The piercer at Ink Inc was fantastic, taking out Dorian's terrible quality ring and replacing it with a clean and correct nose stud. Unlike my experience with Dorian, the piercer at Ink Inc was very gentle and friendly, explaining everything he was doing before he was going to do it while sympathizing with my situation. The piercer at Ink Ink amazingly didn't charge me for the stud change, and gave me detailed instructions along with his card to help with healing my nose. All in all, DO NOT go to Metamorphosis, because Dorian's carelessness with proper jewelry and hygiene caused a keloid to start to form and caused a great deal of trauma to my nose. read more
