Captain Stu was not only extremely knowledgeable but he was also very personable. We took a 3 hour mid-day cruise and weather as well as the boat were impeccable. My party were all very impressed by the boat and his knowledge of the water and the area. We were able to cruise down some back lagoons - something that might never see without his level of experience. Overall it was a fantastic trip and a beautiful boat. Highly recommend!! read more

Many thanks to Capt Stu for providing a beautiful and extremely smooth send off. His communication and care was exceptional, as was his "bedside manner". We could tell that he put thought into every moment and that his understanding of circumstances and acceptance of how different people show grief is exemplary. We also loved following the dolphin pods after the ceremony! read more

Stu, Took a dreary rainy day and made it a day to remember with great stories and an interesting tour of the back bay. Highly recommended.

I can't begin to put into words how happy I am with the services provided by Captain Stu. We booked him for scattering my father's ashes at sea off the coast of Atlantic City. He handled everything with the utmost kindness and respect resulting in a positive, memorable experience that my family and I will never forget. If you wish to have a loved one's ashes laid to rest at sea off the coast of southern New Jersey, you absolutely cannot find anyone better. read more

I am so happy a ran across Metamorphosis Boat Charters in the Visit Atlantic City online booklet. Captain Stu was prompt in his response to my inquiry and I was surprised he had an opening for a sunset cruise a week before we were to arrive in the area. Captain Stu continued to have great communication and scheduling was easy peasy! Captain Stu was a great captain and made us laugh and feel comfortable and despite him be a Penn State fan, it was great to banter as Ohio State fans!! He also turned the boat around to get a football out of the ocean that actually turned out to be a dead horseshoe crab. Ha! I'm glad the weather ended up amazing and glad to have booked! If I am ever in the area, we will definitely be scheduling again! Thank you, Captain Stu!!! read more

I sincerely can't give enough high praises for Capt. Stu and his boat the Metamorphosis. My father and I chartered the Metamorphosis for two hours on Saturday, July 15, 2023 in order to appropriately scatter my mother's ashes at sea. From the first phone call Capt. Stu is a courteous, sensitive, professional , clearly answering our questions and flawlessly accommodating our individual needs. A real gentleman. His boat, the Metamorphosis, is spotlessly, clean, beautiful, comfortable and with a great sound system for any music you wish to use. I hope under better circumstances we will be able to charter the metamorphosis again! read more

Before my trip to Atlantic City NJ, I sought out a fishing charter to join, so I could do some deep sea fishing. I've done this in other seaside towns and just love it - and love going back home to Michigan with my fresh catch. Unfortunately, due to COVID and other reasons, I wasn't able to find a fishing charter. What I did find was Captain Stu and his beautiful boat, Metamorphosis. I booked a sunset cruise, and it was one of the highlights of my trip to Atlantic City. The Metamorphosis is an immaculate vessel. Not only well cared for in general, the captain also thoroughly sanitizes between guests. Masks were required upon boarding, in the captain's area, and below deck, but could be removed when in the bow or stern. Captain Stu is very knowledgeable about the ocean and the city, and he is happy to answer questions. I got to see a gorgeous sunset over the skyline and boardwalk, enjoy some time on the open water, and of course sit back, relax, and watch the city come aglow as night fell. I highly recommend Captain Stu and the very pretty, very comfortable Metamorphosis. read more

Capt. Stu was incredibly compassionate providing an atmosphere of reverence as well as celebratory laughter. He made himself available to answer any questions and made the challenging time celebrating my wife's passing. His follow up was excellent as he reached out providing unsolicited but welcomed comfort and info to insure our experience honored my wife. He welcomed us at the gang plank with a beautiful smile. The ceremonial voyage fulfilled my wife's wish to have her ashes spread in the Atlantic. Pleasant surprise was a dozen roses which we gave to the sea to further honor my wife's life and passing. While my current wishes were to have my ashes distributed at my favorite waterfall, I will be changing my will to have Stu, God willing, provide his service for me. The Golden Nugget marina had a bar and restaurant next door which gave our group a very convenient central location to share good food, drinks and stories both before and after our trip. I can't say enough positive things about this experience. I know in my heart should my wife be witnessing this experience that she would be very happy her wish was fulfilled and then some. My family was truly blessed. Thanks Stu read more

Making the reservation was very easy and the Captain stayed in touch as well. He made sure we had everything we needed and also checked in with us a couple of days before to make sure we are still coming and also go over the directions to enter the marina. Met the Captain at the dock and he gave us a quick tour of the boat and also went over all safety procedures in the event something happens. We left the marina and that's when all the fun began. It was an awesome day on the water and we truly enjoyed it. We will be back. read more

Captain Stu was great! He provided great details on where to meet and what was required for the day. It was the first time we had ever done this type of "ceremony" and he was helpful on giving us suggestions on what we could do yet respectful of our wishes. Captain Stu's charter was fantastic. He was extremely professional and courteous upon arrival and super friendly during the trip. The Metamorphosis is a meticulously maintained and extremely comfortable vessel. Captain Stu made us feel safe on board as well as played some music and gave us some history lessons about Atlantic City and the surrounding areas as we traveled. He has a true love for the water and you can feel that same energy while on charter with him. Captain Stu was an amazing steward the entire trip out to scatter my mothers ashes. Our family had an immediate connection with him and felt at ease the entire time in the hands of Stuart. He read poems at our request that he had available and was able to play a song over the speaker system that really helped with honoring our mothers' memory. I highly recommend this company. We felt in great hands and will carry these memories forever. read more

Took a Sunset cruise with Capt Stu and his dog. We had the best time on our trip with lots of good conversation and good company on our trip. A safety briefing starts the trip off on the right foot. We were able to select the music we wanted for the trip and loved spending time with Capt Stu's dog, Calypso, as well. The views of the city are amazing from the ocean as well. Highly recommend him if you are thinking about a sunset cruise around Atlantic City. read more

Burial at Sea. A Memorable Experience My brother passed away last December. Traditionally We Hindus Believe in Cremation and then scatter the ashes in River Ganges in India, so they can go to the Sea. Unfortunately with Covid pandemic it was not been possible to Travel to India to do this Holy ritual. Fortunately we found an alternative Here in the USA. Burial at Sea. Burial at Sea is also a time honoured Tradition used by Navy and US veterans for a long time. We were very Fortunate to be able to contact Capt. Stewart Rosen @ srosen@metourneys.com  He took us out in his Boat Metamorphosis Over 3 miles from the shore in the middle of the Ocean from Atlantic city where we were able to accomplish our Ritual without going to India. Thus  completing the Return of his Soul to Heaven And his remains to Fire, earth, wind and water as per our Indian traditions. When my mother passed away we went all the way to Haridwar in India. It was a very difficult journey. A lot of Hassles It was far from a peaceful and a Holy experience. Captain Stu as he is affectionately called, has recordings of Hindu prayers. He also had some very memorable poems which he Recited in the final ceremony. He brought Roses and we took rose petals to scatter with the ashes in the Ocean. We also have a certificate with the exact location on earth where the ashes were scattered. Capt. Stu is a very polite and soft spoken Gentleman. He was very respectful and knowledgeable of our situation and customs. He offered a very dignified Service and Ceremony. The whole thing was a very peaceful and very warm Memorial Experience. I would recommend him to every one who is thinking of a Burial at sea for their Family And friends. Prakash Phulwani read more

Metamorphosis Boat Charters - Boat Charters Near Me - Atlantic City, New Jersey

Captain Stu helped me make my mom's burial at sea possible. After a very difficult month spent in Florida with my mom at her home in hospice, she lost her battle with cancer. I received my mom's ashes after returning to my home in Pennsylvania and held on to them for almost a year as I struggled to find a time to bring my family back down to Florida to spread my mom's ashes at sea. Captain Stu helped make her wishes for an at-sea burial possible in New Jersey. He was wonderful, kind and helpful from beginning to end. If only I took my dramamine the entire day would have been absolutely perfect! Other than that, I wouldn't have changed a thing about the at-sea burial on the Metamorphosis. I know my mom was smiling down on us and cannot thank Captain Stu enough for making this very special day possible for us. read more

Cpt Stu was highly recommended by a fellow captain who was booked for the timeslot I wanted for a co-ed bachelor party cruise. His website gives plenty of info to feel comfortable with what to expect on the cruise and spells out pricing. Cpt Stu was very responsive, attentive and professional. He gave us tips on where to park and met us outside of the marina. My group had a blast cruising to our own music while sipping adult beverages. We were even given interesting insight on some history of A.C. It was a carefree adventure that allowed us to get beautiful view of the Jersey shoreline, do something excitingly different and spend quality group time together. read more

An amazing experience with Metamorphosis and Captain Stewart Rosen! Captain Stu escorted me and my team on a 22.5 mile circumnavigation swim around Absecon Island (Atlantic City.) The boat is gorgeous and well equipped, and every detail including some complex navigation was taken care of in a very thoughtful way. This review is quite tardy - in July, 2012, we went out with Captain Stu for the scattering of my father's ashes. My father was born in Atlantic City, and had worked in radio there for many years. We went out with Captain Stu for a memorial scattering of my Uncle's ashes. From the very first phone call with Stu I knew we were in capable, compassionate hands. The boat is clean and comfortable with a bathroom available and Stu also had a small fridge with beverages. On the trip out to the scattering site and back, he played our choice of music. He provided beautiful roses for the scattering, and also read "A Burial at Sea Prayer for a Sailor" since my uncle was a Navy vet (He has a selection of readings available if you would like to choose one). We had the wonderful surprise of spotting several dolphins on our trip back. Stu's manner is calm and friendly and he strikes just the right balance- recognizing the emotional weight of the experience while also helping to make it a true celebration of life. My aunt also very much enjoyed his stories of old Atlantic City since she and my uncle had spent many happy times there together.
