Been thinking about heading back to school. This campus offers a paralegal program, so I headed to…read morecampus in order to speak with an advisor. Unfortunately, no one was available to speak with me; however, a phone appointment was scheduled for next Monday at 10 a.m. Woohoo! The lady I spoke with was very accomodating and satisfied every question and concern. She was ultra-professional and didn't seem in any hurry to move on to the next person. This showed me how much she really cared, and that I simply wasn't a number or random student to deal with. This is an open-air campus, which means the buildings aren't connected. Wonder how that would fare during inclement weather. Anyway, please check out this school.

What irked me was that the buildings were not all connected to each other so if you had class in one building and then class in another and it was raining, well good luck getting soaked or whatnot! Also when I was there, there wasn't that many spots of food choices on campus, just a Subway from what I remember. There was no coffee shops on campus from what I also remember, the closest one being that Dunkin across the street that I'm not even sure if it still exists or whatnot. The advisors there too weren't necessarily the brightest either as they had me working my own schedule out and what classes to take.

It should be illegal to charge someone…read more$15,000 for a profession making $9 an hour and then to find out you could of paid $500 to get the same certification online. I went here just to check the school out and they had me filling out loan applications before I even knew what I wanted to get a degree in then after having me approved for loan told me I could pick anything off of a list of certifications they offered so they could hurry and enroll me to start that season. It was all very rushed almost like a pushy car salesman selling you a lemon. Pharmacy Technician sounds good right! Wrong! I have been paying on this loan for 9 years and nothing to show for it except probably 9 more years of payments. Now I can't even get a loan to go to a community college to get my basics I am stuck working at Walmart making $15 an hour because I can't get paid as much anywhere else. I am grateful for Walmart paying as much as they do.

The field is home to Twilight Thursdays, Bedford's own little spring concert series, and to the huge Bedford Christmas tree. More informally its my girls and I's secret spot for exploring and Ice Cream on Friday afternoon's when my 3 year old gets out of preschool. I love that they can run, collect rocks and lady bugs, climb large rocks, and dig in the dirt road (Don't worry! We always put it back!) and be safely away from traffic off of the road. I can sit on a picnic blanket and watch and not have to worry about my kids falling off of a some large plastic playground, or getting run over by a car! My only suggestion, especially for twilight Thursdays, is that those fire ant hills are crazy! I got bit several times last season.. yikes! The school house itself is classic, and is like a last piece of country history in a city that becomes more suburban and built up every day. You can see pictures from the its glory days, look at a traditional one room school house set up, attend a murder mystery dinner, or rent one of their different rooms for meetings, or the entire building for a wedding. The last time my girls and I were there, my little one had to go to the bathroom and there was a wedding set-up going on, so we were able to sneak in (with permission!) and use the restroom. The set up was adorable...a PERFECT wedding venue. If I had known this place was available back in the day when I was married, I totally would have chosen it! The wooden stair case and old beams and windows make for great photo ops! I have also attended a 50th birthday celebration here a few years back! There was plenty room for a buffet, a bar, tons of guests and a live band.. totally fun! Last year we went to the school house to take some christmas pictures, and ending up choosing one with the school house in the background for our card! We also took some family photos here last weekend... out back they have bluebonnets, and some great stairs for backdrops. ....I am kind of sad I am writing this review, because now everyone will know my secret hiding spot in HEB for pictures, parties and play! :)
