very pricey. Have to make an appointment which is ok but can't sit in shop if you are early. can only come in when other customer is gone

As a new customer, I scheduled my first appointment at 9 AM on a Saturday in August. I arrived at 8:55 AM and walked in. The barber had a customer in his chair, and it appeared he was finishing up. The barber asked, "Can I help you?" and I cheerfully told him I had a 9 AM appointment and began walking towards the row of chairs along the wall (presumably for people like me to wait). The barber said, "OK - please wait outside, and I'll get you when I am done." If you know Mesquite in August, it's hot. It is not "burn your nose hairs" hot at 9 AM, but it is still pretty warm (well into the 90s). This so turned me off that I told the barber I'm going to pass on my appointment and left. To expect someone to stand outside on the sidewalk while there's plenty of room to sit and wait inside is definitely a new experience for me - and not one I want to repeat. One of the strangest experience I have ever had a barbershop. I'll walked in two minutes early. He said "you're early!" I said yes, I wanted to be I'm here on time. He said, "no, I mean you're early!" He made me wait outside and said when I came in that he and the customers needed their privacy. He said he only lets one person at a time and never to get there early. I got the haircut since I was there, but it was the strangest vibe I had ever gotten from a barber. Beware of this place, the person operating the business is unstable. Went in Saturday March 23rd for a cut, was told I had to make an appointment. It was decided Monday March 25th at 10am would work for both of us. Now comes the strange part, he wanted me to "prepay" for a cut which wouldn't happen for several days. I mentioned it was weird to ask for money up front and it didn't work for me. He said "okay, I thought I would try" I'll see you on Monday. Monday came and I showed up on time, I walked in and he said "I'm not cutting your hair because you didn't prepay the other day". This man is WEIRD, clearly he's not playing with a full deck of cards. Scary thought he's holding a sharp, potentially dangerous instrument next to people's heads. If you're looking for a new place to go to get a haircut keep looking. I took my son there for a haircut. We got there and the door was locked though it was closed even though we had an appointment. The barber open the door told us we were early and sit in our car and wait till he was done cutting someone else's hair. Then I was sent away. I was not allowed to be in shop with my son well he got his hair cut. My son told him how he wanted it an even showed him a picture how he wears his hair. when I got back my son was upset his hair was cut so short , he looked like he was going in to the military. He only went for a trim! my son told him he cut it to short and wasn't happy with it ! He didn't care he messed up all he wanted was his money $30 and sent him away . stay away this place is horrible and not inviting the barber is rude and doesn't know how to cut hair! read more

This could be the worst customer service I have ever seen in action. I called in to make an appointment, but was told I could only make one on line, so I did. Apparently when you get your appointment confirmation email you should read everything on the email, because you are not allowed to get there before your appointment! I walked in 9 minutes before my appointment and was told that I had to wait in my car. So those nice looking couches in the shop are only for looks. I was told that he had to protect his and his clients privacy so I could wait outside or in my car. This is Mesquite Nv. I was 110 degrees today... I will not be waiting in my car, and I will not be paying someone like this for any services. I cannot say anything about the quality of his work because I never got a haircut. read more

First time to this place, was visiting from from out of town and was passing by looking for a place for a hair cut because the hotel i was staying at charges $25.00 for a regular hair cut and I figured give a local mom and pop shop a chance and support the local economy, when I walked in it was empty and the owner was eating and said that he did not have any openings and his next appointment was at 3pm and that he was on lunch. I will never go here or recommend this place to anyone, I did not make a appointment simply because I did not feel welcomed and if you are on a lunch break, please put a out to lunch sign or lock and close your door so we don't waste our time in supporting local businesses. read more
