The service was amazing, friendly, definitely 'Spanish'. What fun! The food was excellent, all the typical dishes were present and the quality was quite elevated in each of them - how can a simple Ensalada Russa taste this good? This is one not to be missed, especially for the beautiful side-street view of the main cathedral. It is one of the best in Malaga!

If anything, it certainly got my digestive tract back on track. My dad and I also shared an omelette, which you can customize with 3 toppings. The omelette here isn't quite like the type you find at diners or brunch spots back in the states, but it certainly isn't like the omelettes typically served in Spain either (which I find too quiche-like). They're kind of like the omelette I imagine I'd find in Korea. A little skimpy on the eggs and no cheese (we're lactose intolerant in the motherland) but still quite delicious. Everyone around us was drinking one of their fresh juices, but I didn't order any. Kind of wish I had. Also has free wifi - look for the password in the menu.

A lot of tourists came in, which was bound to happen since it is right in the center, but this place is known for the fresh, locally grown ingredients especially the artichokes that draws in locals as well so we wanted to check it out! The waiter was friendly and helped us decide what to order. We got the two most popular artichoke tapas: confitadas and montillana. We preferred the confitadas but both were delicious! We also ordered the ensalada malagueña (typical of Málaga) which is a potato salad with oranges and olives, it was very good and tasted very fresh! The waiter also convinced us to go for dessert--the leche frita (fried condensed milk) with ice cream on top! The fried milk was interesting and not sickly sweet, but I probably could have gone without it. The ice cream tasted like hazelnut and I actually enjoyed that quite a bit! Overall a great place with tasty food!

Give one of the Bartenders a wave and that's about it. Ordered a Vermouth to start-local and tasty. I wanted to try the Flamenquin and asked what other Tapa is a good one to try (smaller). The kind Bartender suggested the Zucchini Tortilla. Solid Omelette with Zucchini and very good (but it isn't really small). Star of the show was the Flamenquin (and this alone would've been enough unless sharing) Pork with peppers breaded and fried with a side of Patatas-excellent and I haven't seen this one anywhere else locally. Friendly people behind the Bar. Just gently navigate your way to the Bar for your order-friendly local crowd. Surprisingly, they slowed down shortly after I arrived. Service is slightly slow because of the amount of people that they serve at any given time. So yes understandably, you will probably have to flag your waiter/waitress if you want anything after your initial order is taken because it can seem a little chaotic. The place is total old school Andalusia. How about the food? The food is just as authentic as the look of this place, which is always packed. I had the typical tomato salad with fish which is always delicious because the basic ingredients are always so fresh. Tomatoes stand out here because they are soo good. I enjoyed patatas bravas, salpicon, gildas, jamon, olives and croquetas de toro. What better to wash it all down with than a cup of Jerez amontillado and a glass of tinto de verano. Those that have left mediocre reveiws probably don't know what to expect or have no idea what to order, which, will probably end in an unfavorable experience. If you want a genuine experience of Malaga, then this place should be on your list of places to eat.

Just a heads-up for anyone ordering the langostinos: don't expect large prawns!
