My husband's dad is a professionally musician who plays at weddings, his family owns a music shop, and we can just say that are a bit particular when it comes to music and wedding entertainment (WHICH I'M TOTALLY FINE WITH!!). We looked long and hard for the perfect band for our Lake Tahoe wedding. GTB was great for so many reasons on paper: did not charge a travel fee, 7 piece band with 2 techs, did not ask for a hotel room for the night, and rest set lists. We were even more impressed when we started to talk to John, listen to their demos online, and speak with referrals. A+ all the way! The band arrive 3.5 hours before the wedding to set up.. they arranged a mic and PA system for our ceremony and even provided a music stand for my uncle who was playing guitar for the ceremony. They put together a set list per our request ions, as well, for the cocktail hour. The party was started quickly! GTB worked with my husband's family to allow them to assist in our first dance (they sang and played and GTB did backup), which was so special to us. We had a delay with dinner service, so GTB even stayed and played an extra 45 min after our 10:00 expected end time to play longer. Our party was amazing! I would hire GTB in a second for something else (we even joke that we want to get married again just so we can have GTB!!!).

They were easy and quick with communication, and it was clear they were excited to help us throw the best wedding celebration possible. We purchased and received the following services: 1. DJ/MC- 5/5 Steele's DJing and MCing were so much fun and helped make the night stay alive and organized. He played all the music we requested on our playlists but also added some great songs that fit the vibe perfectly. My family and friends commented the whole night on how great his DJing was. 2. Photo/Video- 5/5 Angela was very friendly, outgoing, and professional. She made us feel very comfortable and also made us laugh with her funny prompts. The pictures turned out so wonderful and I am so happy with her work. 3. Bartending- 5/5 We got the open bar and provided lots of different ingredients for our guests to order. He was so easy to communicate with in this remote setting. He responded with very thorough answers to any questions my sister and I had (and we had a lot!). My sister and her husband also chose several Japanese songs in their sets, so we weren't sure if it would be difficult for him to obtain high-quality audio of those selections. But he did it! And he made sure to verify with them that he found the right songs. On the wedding day, everything sounded great! He also provided mics for the ceremony and reception, and brought uplighting to add another level of ambience to the reception room. When the dancing began, he knew just what to play to keep the energy alive on the dance floor. Everyone - from our oldest to youngest guests - had a turn on the dance floor! He was so funny and able to relate to our guests so well (since we're almost all Filipino). We have never seen any DJ/MC with so much energy and charisma. He was so popular, we had guests asking for business cards after the event. Preparation: We set up a call with Eugene and our coordinator, and went through the details of the event. Namely, trying to size up the "vibe" we were going for. It was a delight to sling words like "hyphy" or "Filipino time" when discussing this, it was like planning an event with friends except it was strictly professional. The music portal is easy to use, you can sort certain songs to most likely be played, might be played, and do not play. Eugene also accepts Spotify playlists, which I sent to him prior so they could gauge the type of music we wanted at the wedding. The music selection I sent isn't strict either, it's mostly a recommendation so he can prepare for the crowd at the event. Day-of: Eugene is spontaneous, funny, and charismatic. We had our itinerary, but I could never guess what he'd say to get us from one scheduled item to the next, nor how he'd fill the space in between. Eugene ensured the whole room was participating, up dancing, and having a great time.
