We've used Merry Maids of Princeton twice now to clean our furniture, and both times they did a fantastic job! Most recently, we had them clean our couches, and the results were great. The team was careful, thorough, and respectful of our home. They made sure to clean everything up afterward, leaving no trace behind, it was like they were never even there (except for the much cleaner furniture!). I really appreciate their consistency and attention to detail, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a solid, reliable cleaning service. I have been relying on Merry Maids to clean my house for the last 30 years. When I first came to Princeton I signed up with another company but was unhappy with their cleaning. After several complaints they suggested I find another cleaning service so I switched to Merry Maids and never looked back! Victor does an incredible job of managing and training his workers. They are totally reliable and always ready to help with something extra. We have a big house and the cost of cleaning is very reasonable. I try to leave a tip for these hardworking people. Twice they have saved me from an enormous problem (once when a water pipe burst and once when there was a small electrical problem). Victor is always ready to help with any unusual request. Over the last 30 years there have been rare but occasional problems: sometimes the maids have emergencies or personal disasters, but Victor is always prepared to make good on his promise of satisfaction. I called Merry Maids 800 Number back in late June 2024 to have my new one-bedroom apartment (which was empty as I had not moved in yet) cleaned thoroughly before moving in. They insisted that (1) one girl could handle it and negotiated a price even though previously having lived at the same apartment I knew it would be too much for one girl but they insisted their employee could handle it. Well, the girl came/left and I did not have time to inspect the day before moving in as I was packing and arranging a trailer. Well, the following day I moved my stuff in and was not done till late in the evening due to unforeseen circumstances The next morning (morning of day 2) I awoke and wanted a shower first thing having slept on the floor on a mattress as I had no time to assemble the bed. The entire bathroom was filthy, the toilet had pre-existing excrement inside the bowl, soap scum on the shower walls, the floor was dirty not scrubbed, and the sink had facial hair on it from the previous tenant. After calling and complaining to Merry Maids, they sent another girl over to inspect what my claim(s) was and she agreed with me it was unsatisfactory, to say the least, and took pictures of everything I mentioned to verify my claim, there was soap scum in the joint of the shower surround around the bottom where the shower walls join the tub that just poured out brown when she sprayed her product in that area (didn't even scrub just spraying caused it to run out brown) among other things, the girl agreed to reclean the bathroom. That was it! They never cleaned the top of the refrigerator, which, I wound up doing myself! The girl half-assed the job which tells me she did the same thing with the rest of the apartment (which was empty at the time). I am the type of guy who psychologically likes to know a place is clean before moving in my stuff, and, Merry Maids robbed me of that feeling; which is bullshit considering the fees they charge! Today was my first time using Merry Maids in Hamilton. I am very pleased with the work that they did, how nice they were, and the price for the job. They even cleaned the window wells when I asked. I highly recommend their cleaning services. I had an individual clean my house prior and she was more expensive and did not do as good a job. So, I decided to call a cleaning service having had a good experience with Molly Maid at our previous residence. So, I called The Maids and Merry Maids. Merry Maids had a better price, and as a result they got the job. I told them that they had to be here in 2 days time and they obliged my rush request. The team of two women spent all afternoon cleaning my 1600 sq ft house. A third person came and spent a few hours doing the carpet. The house looks great! Merry Maids offers carpet cleaning services. I find this very convenient and affordable. Other add ons that they offer include cleaning the refrigerator, inside of the stove, windows. Like another reviewer, they did not show up at the time that the sales person said. They were a few hours early. This did not bother me, but I can see how it might interfere with someone's schedule. My one complaint is that I do not believe they cleaned the kitchen cabinets. I had to wash some food off the cabinets after they had already gone. A great job other than that. They deserve zero stars. My mother passed away, we hired them to clean her house as we are turning it into an Airbnb. They completely neglected what we asked of them, they didn't clean the mirrors as asked, ignored the bathrooms, didn't vacuum, etc. it's almost as if they came, sat, and left. Not only that, they removed cherished childhood memories (stickers) we put on our mother's bathroom mirror even though we asked them NOT to touch anything like that. Those stickers are almost 25 years old, memories we had with our mom. On top of that, they didn't even clean that mirror and left the sticker residue! We have called and called, our calls our getting ignored or being sent to voicemail. We are also missing tools from our house. I have read other reviews since our horrible experience and have found other clients have had similar heartbreaking experiences. Lot's about their bold face lying. Do not recommend. Came to our home. This was their second time here. The first time they arrived on time and did a good job. Today, they were over two hours late. Called the office who said they would check on where they were. An hour later, had to call the office again. Barbara said she hadn't heard back from them. Then she added that she should have let us know this. You are right, Barbara. You should have let us know this. When they did arrive, they said that they had a bigger house to clean before ours. Noy My Problem! Then they rushed through our home doing a terrible job. Had to vacuum after they left as the carpets were obviously dirty. They didn't clean the shower door. Two mirrors in the house (bathroom and dresser mirror in the bedroom) hadn't been cleaned. The kitchen counter needed more cleaning. Family room floor hadn't been adequately vacuumed. I won't go on. We had signed on for them to come every four weeks. After today's tardiness and then the lousy job they did, we called Barbara back and told her to cancel their ever returning. She said she could sent two other people next time.You should have sent two people that would be on time and do a decent job the first time! Won't use them again! read more

After using Maid Pro for one year and being fed up with their lack of respect for showing up on time (I work from home and have a tight schedule), I decided to give these guys a shot. the guy that came over to give me an estimate was very good at listening at my issues with Maid Pro and assured me that they are SO MUCH BETTER!!! Well.... methinks NOT. This is their first cleaning (today) and they were supposed to be here between 12 and 1. I set up an appointment for a condo cleaning and received an estimate. Prior to my appointment, I received great, convenient service via text message. I was really looking forward to working with the Merry Maids staff, as they seemed excellent so far. However on the day of the appointment, no one showed up. Looking back through my texts I realized there was one I had not responded to asking for my credit card information. I quickly called and was told that since I hadn't responded to that text message, my spot was given away and no one was coming. There was no other attempt to contact me for my credit card information, and no one told me my appointment was canceled. So instead I waited for a crew that never showed up. Now I have only 3 days to find someone to clean my condo before I move in on Saturday. I really hope I can find someone. read more

And this weekend, I was spammed by the very person I have been trying to contact about the horrible job they did and the damage from the oven cleaner to say that they'd seen my house and would I be interested in a cleaning? Merry Maids did a fantastic job cleaning the blinds, windows and doors of our new rental - going above and beyond the "call of duty" to complete a job which was much more intensive than they expected - without changing their original quotation. Our house had not been cleaned in several years and everything was coated in grime and smoke residue. I scheduled the cleaning over the phone with the owner, George, and was given a good quote, but when the two nice ladies came to do the job, I think they were a little surprisedd at just how big the job really was! Although the quote was for 2 hrs of work, these poor ladies just could not get it all done, so the owner and branch manager, Victor, came and pitched in. The job ended up taking twice as long as expected but they did not try to up the price at the end. I actually then tried to pay them more but they refused, and the owner and manager refused a tip too, saying to give it to the ladies! I was so impressed by their professionalism, friendliness and pleasant attitude that I promised that when I'm able to schedule weekly housecleanings, I will definitely do it with Merry Maids. read more

I've been using Merry Maids for almost 3 years now and really appreciate the work they do to keep our home clean. Their scheduling process is very flexible and they try to keep the same 2 or 3 teams assigned to our home so the cleaning style is condistent. The set up: I hired the Merry Maids to clean an empty house before new tenants moved in. As this was my first time using their company, I had to have a representative come to the house before I could schedule my cleaning. This guy wasted my time with a bunch of talk about using green products and running background checks etc... Finally we got to the part where I signed a contract and agreed to pay an extra $60 to have the inside of my oven and refrigerator cleaned. The outcome: on the day of the cleaning, two women showed up with what appeared to be one broom and maybe three rags. I was running errands while they cleaned and thought, surely the rest of the stuff is in their car? When they called me to let me know they were finished, maybe an hour had passed. Not enough time for the "deep clean" I was promised. As they were about to drive off, I noticed neither oven nor refrigerator had been cleaned. I flagged them down and they showed me a copy of their work assignment, which sure enough did not specify the extra items I was paying for. They made some negative comments about the representative who I had met with, which I took to be a bad sign about the way this company operates. The ladies went back inside and tried their hardest to clean the oven, but had not brought any oven cleaner with them to the job. Supposedly they vacuumed, but my entire house was hard wood floors and I was under the impression they would be mopped. The result was a house that still appeared dusty. Noticeably absent was the smell of any cleaning product. In the end I was out close to $300 and the house was very unclean. I strongly discourage anyone from hiring this company. read more

My husband and I are two full time working parents who decided to look into a cleaning service to help us out around the house to allow us to spend more time with our kids. We decided to give Merry Maids a try, had the consultation and allowed them into our house for the "8 hour" cleaning. I purposely let the house get a little more dirty than usual so I could really see the outcome of the service. At first glance the house looked clean after the ladies were only here for 3 hours (2 ladies at 3 hours does not equal the 8 hours that was paid for). After the horrible headache inducing smell of the cleaner finally cleared out enough for me to inspect the cleaning I found a not so clean house: * The freshly vacuumed sofa still had crumbs all under the sofa cushions. * The toilet had urine all down the side and the bottom. * The shower floor did not have a drop of cleaner hit it. * My nice hardwood floors were suddenly dingy with a white film. I was so disgusted I rewashed them and my floor cleaner produced black water when I was done. * None of the cabinets were cleaned like they were supposed to be. I still had little 2 year old finger prints all over there. These area are only the things that I took pictures of there was much more not done (pictures have been posted). I would never recommend this company; however, I would recommend taking a closer look at their "cleaning" if you are currently using them. read more

I have dealt with Victor and the Merry Maids franchise in Hamilton for a couple of years now for cleaning for my offices. They do good work on a schedule that's convenient for my staff, and when (not if- there are always problems when somebody else is cleaning!) there are problems, they come back out right away and take care of the problems without charge or complaint. The customer service is outstanding and you get the distinct feeling they listen to you. I recommend them without reservation. read more

Merry Maids was terrible. I had specifically requested that my trim be wiped down and it wasn't. They dusted around items rather than moving them to dust. After my floors dried they were sticky. When I called the office to report this, they did not offer to send them out to do the work again and in fact didn't even respond to my concerns. Only one person showed up to clean instead of the promised two and you can imagine, with one person cleaning for 4+ hours, the cleaning is very mediocre. There was a toothpick used by the previous tenant in the medicine cabinet of my bathroom, a dead bug on the edge of the floor on the carpet, spilled over food on the stove top burners from the previous tenant. They are not as detailed as Victor claims them to be. They charged me a premium compared to the other places and my experience is that it is not worth it. Worst part is I tried to contact Victor the smooth talker (with photos of the above) but never heard from him about my concerns - shows what a shoddy service they run. read more

I had the man there, I think his name was Terry come give me an estimate. That went fine but the rest was down hill. He double talked me and made me think one thing when it was really another. When the two women came to clean my house I found out they were told my house was a construction zone. Terry, a few paint cans on the table do not make a contraction zone. I even told him they would be put away as we were almost done with touching up the base boards. The two women cleaning my house said he does not ever know what he is talking about and always misquotes jobs. These two women cleaned for two hours and I had to pay $400.00. FYI...I have been cleaning ever since. They are the worst cleaning service I have ever experienced. This is why I never use services because you never know what you get. I so wish that I had read the reviews before using this company. They came to clean my mother's 1500 ft.² home yesterday. I was reassured that two women would come out to clean... Only one woman showed up. She started out doing a very good job but then lost steam towards the end because this was a big job. We wanted to get it to move in ready since my mother just purchased the home and the previous owners didn't take good care of it. What a complete and utterly disappointing cleaning service experience! The sales person performed a review of the services that were to be performed at my home and I looked forward to receiving that level of service. MERRY MAIDS informed me there would be two people at my home to perform the cleaning. That did not happen. The cleaners were not informed of the services to be performed specifically at my home and I had to inform them EACH AND EVERY TIME THEY CAME TO CLEAN! How hard is it to remember to dust the baseboards and clean the ceiling fans?! Apparently it was hard for these "professional cleaning people" to remember to perform these tasks. What a rip off! My home was NEVER CLEANED to a level that I would classify as satisfactory. The final straw came when the Cleaner did not have the proper cleaning equipment to even mop my floors properly!!! On top of that - I had to let the cleaner into my home because she did not have a key to my home - what?! MERRY MAIDS required that I provide a key to my home to them so that they could enter and clean the home and LOCK UP AFTERWARD. I felt very uncomfortable leaving my home where someone did not have the proper equipment to complete the cleaning job AND I had to rely upon this person to secure my home when she left.
