To say we have loved and appreciated our time at BunnyBears is an understatement! We feel so fortunate to have found BunnyBears and had the opportunity to include them in our village. The love our kids felt each day when we dropped them off really set our hearts and minds at ease, and it was such a joy to see them playing happily with their friends and teachers each day when we picked them up. Communication with Katie and all of the teachers was prompt and very helpful - we always felt like we knew exactly what was going on during the day, and loved the picture updates. Our kids were never lacking in one-on-one or small group time with their teachers, and each teacher really took the time and put in the effort to form special individual bonds with all of the kids. Both kids felt very prepared - socially and emotionally - for their transitions to preschool, and our almost 5 year old sometimes tells me she wishes she could go back to "tiny school" to see the teachers that she loves.

Kids Ave is special!…read more Our son went to Kids Ave from 18mo-4y (when he started TK). Dropping your kid off at Kids Ave is like dropping your kid off with family. Kids Ave is truly a special place. All of the teachers are incredible with the kids. Each kid is nurtured in a personalized manner. The classrooms are beautiful and Kids Ave is always so clean and beautifully decorated. The teachers put in so much effort to each student, to the crafts/projects/learning, and to their classrooms. The outside space has room to run and an awesome sandbox! And, the kids are served great food every day (all of which is included)! Our son was SUPER prepared to start TK. He is confident and excited, plays well with others, follows instructions, can write his name, knows all of his letters/sounds, all thanks to Ms. Karla and the other teachers at Kids Ave. Also, while Kids Ave is a center but it's not a corporate center, which makes a difference. They have that personalized touch and are willing to work with each family. Elisa and Susu are doing a great job running Kids Ave...and loving on all the kids! Finally, we've loved Kids Ave from the start, but we didn't really have anything to compare it to. However, our daughter is currently at a different daycare center. And that center is just fine. She's cared for and safe and all that good stuff....but it's just NOT Kids Ave. We're excited for her to turn 18mo so that she too can go to Kids Ave too!

If you are a military family, THIS SCHOOL IS PERFECT FOR YOU! The staff is amazing, caring, and knowledgeable. Ms. Rachelle, Isabel, Miriam, and Ms. Carm are the absolute best. The director Ms. Rachelle is an absolute God send. We are a military family, and my husband is constantly on deployment, she tries to accommodate my schedule and be helpful as much as she can. One of my sons was diagnosed with Autism and part of reason I knew to get him tested was because of a recommendation from Ms. Rachelle after she noticed some autistic behavior and we discussed what I observed at home as well. She has no problem tailoring the learning environment to make sure every child's needs are being met, for example, one of my sons needed to be challenged more academically and not only did she provide that challenge for him at school but she also provided him resources to take home as well. She goes above and beyond for the children at the daycare and makes sure EVERYONE feels included. I could go on and on about the wonderful staff at Rising Star Preschool. After all, as parents, the hardest decision to make is who to trust your baby with. Most tend to stay with what they know, because it's comfortable and proven to be safe even if it doesn't fit each child you have as perfectly as the last. Fortunately for my family, we found the best fit. The fit being Academy of Play. The teachers are all caring, emotionally attentive, and tuned in with each child as if they were their own. The documentation, updates throughout the day, regular photos, lesson plans, and development assessments are comforting and reassuring that my baby is well taken care of. The staff is not lazy when it comes to speaking with the children. Your child will fully be immersed in Spanish. There is no bias if the child does not come from a native Spanish speaking environment or if the child does not have a Hispanic/Spanish/Latin background. The classrooms are bright, clean, and filled with tons of art. There is always an instructor led activity and the school invites families to attend musicals, art shows, and more. The chances to be involved especially the parent/teacher meetings regardless of age does ease a lot of mom guilt I tend to have due to needing to work long hours some days. All children are welcomed and loved. I could not speak more highly of the program.

He was with Ms. D, who quickly became one of his favorite people -- he mentioned her name at home all the time! When he first started, he was barely talking, and now he can't stop chatting and expressing himself. He recently graduated to a new school, and his new teacher immediately noticed how well-prepared he was. She even commented that she could tell his previous teacher had done an excellent job with circle time and early learning activities. I also appreciate how Ms. Kelly thoughtfully transformed the school this year to a more authentic Montessori environment -- updating the furniture, toys, and curriculum. The school organizes fun and engaging activities throughout the year, which my son always enjoyed. Another thing I truly value is the school's excellent communication. The teachers regularly share photos of the children's daily activities -- as a working parent, it always makes my day to see what my little one is doing while I'm on break. They are also very prompt and transparent when reporting any accidents, clearly explaining what happened, what steps were taken, and how my son was doing afterward. I also love that students wear uniforms, which gives a real sense of belonging and community. I've even met other Pearl parents outside of school (randomly like at the YMCA), and we all share the same sentiment -- Pearl Montessori is a wonderful place for our kids to grow. Even though we've graduated from Pearl, Ms. D and Ms. Kelly, as my son's very first teachers, will always hold a special place in his little heart (and ours).

My concerns stem from a close family friend's experience -- their 2-year-old attended for 5 months before they pulled him out. During that time the child was shuffled between multiple classrooms and teachers, written up for normal toddler behaviors (spilling milk, resisting diaper changes), and threatened with termination for being a typical 2-year-old. When the family escalated concerns, regional directors were unresponsive and requests for video footage of alleged incidents were denied. I shared my concerns directly with the facility. My original Google review was subsequently removed. I'd encourage every parent to do their research before enrolling.

After nine years with this daycare, starting when our oldest was 2, it's really disappointing that…read morethis is how our time with them is ending. We were told after-school care would be available for the upcoming school year, so we planned accordingly. We also signed a contract for our child to attend through the summer. It wasn't until after that contract was signed that we were told they would no longer be providing after-school care, leaving us about two months before school started to find something else. Anyone who has looked for childcare knows two months is not much time. Most programs already have waitlists by then, which is exactly what we ran into. When families impacted brought up the lack of notice, their response was that information about the school's Expanded Learning Program had been available since May, suggesting we had actually had more time to make other arrangements. Except there was one pretty important piece of information missing in May: they never told us they weren't going to provide after-school care. Seeing information about another program doesn't tell me that I need to find new childcare when the daycare we've used for nine years has told us they'll continue providing it. Had they said in May, "We will not be offering after-school care next year," we would have immediately started making other arrangements. That conversation never happened. Thankfully, my kids' school expanded its after-school program and we were able to get a spot. We got lucky. Unfortunately, that still doesn't solve before-school care, so we're now still trying to figure that out and school started today. I completely understand that programs change. I understand staffing and operational needs change too. My issue isn't that they decided to stop offering the service. It's how and when they communicated it. I also want to be very clear that this review is not a reflection of the teachers who cared for our children over the years. In fact, some of the people there are the reason we stayed as long as we did. Jill and Wafaa, in particular, are two of the most amazing people. They were incredibly kind, caring, and wonderful with my kids, and I will always be grateful for the way they treated and cared for them. They deserve to be recognized separately from my frustration with how this situation was handled. This is also why I have 2 stars instead of just 1. That's part of what makes this ending so disappointing. Our children grew up there. We spent nearly a decade building relationships with people we genuinely care about. After nine years, I would have expected a simple, direct heads-up before families were asked to commit to summer care. And when we expressed frustration about the timing, pointing to information about a completely different program instead of simply acknowledging that they never actually told us their own after-school care would no longer be available made the situation worse. If you're considering this daycare, my biggest recommendation is to get future childcare plans in writing and don't assume that a service you've been told will continue is guaranteed. There are some truly wonderful teachers here, and we will miss them. Unfortunately, the communication and handling of this situation left a very different final impression. Nine years deserved a better ending than this.
