Previously, before moving to Fitzgerald, I had cracked two teeth and I thought it likely another tooth was cracked with a tooth fragment pushing down into my gum causing the pain. ( A cracked tooth requires timely treatment to save the tooth and roots. Timely treatment consists of a crown. Delayed treatment means a root canal or tooth extraction. And a larger dental bill. Think $$ versus $$$$. ) Dr. Vickers did not tell me the tooth was indeed cracked. He only mentioned my gum appeared unusually inflamed and prescribed a topical pain relief gel. Did Dr. Vickers not detect the cracked tooth? If he did observe the cracked tooth, why did he not communicate his findings? Did he have some motive to delay treatment? If I had not decided to seek out another dentist for treatment, my tooth might have required a root canal or extraction. I got by with just a crown. If not for my previous experiences with cracked teeth, my dental costs could have been much greater. My suggestion is to choose another dentist with better diagnostic skills and/or better communication skills.
