Peace is worth contending for and I am blessed to share that I have found peace of heart, mind and…read moresoul through Rock House. Through the 16-week program, which at times I needed more (by spending additional time on certain chapters) to dismantle the grip of lies through fear and trauma, I am in awe of the daily, tangible peace I have now have intimate access to. My stellar counselor, Shannan, was willing to continue those chapters with me to go further in my healing and fight alongside of me for the territory of my heart. In addition to the chapters, the weekly podcasts were practical, at times witty, and richly empowering to listen to John and Beth share from the deep well of their experiences, inviting all to living the abundant life in Christ. I am grateful for Shannan's unwavering encouragement to see the Lord moving in my heart, especially when I was blind to my own growth. Her encouragement and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit is a gift! What once held me hostage to grief is now merely a whisper. The road to growth and transformation isn't easy work, but it's the greatest investment we can make for ourselves. Shannan stayed with me faithfully and didn't leave me in the valleys and mountain tops of breakthrough throughout this journey. My husband and I both have completed Rock House. We are blessed to continue in our marriage with new hearts. We are better for it! Our future children will have parents with new hearts. Living with true peace that surpasses understanding is possible. It's never too late. I recommend this house of refuge and transformation to all. Thank you from the bottom of my (new) heart!

I realized that I had been trying to white knuckle it through on my own. As I went through the steps of forgiveness and rejecting lies, God was transforming my heart and in turn it was helping me realize how much God loves me. It is something I continue everyday. I talk to God all the time and now I don't feel like I need all the answers. I just have to live day by day, knowing God goes before me. He is making straight my path and guiding me along the way. i understand that as I grow in faith, I grow in dependency on God and not myself or others. If you take this journey, know that God is working in you and with you. All of our journeys are unique, just like our relationships with God. The great thing is that He loves us all the same and He wants to work just as hard for each of us. May God bless and guide you always Lisa S

I tried to work with Dr. Hill on some grief and trauma issues that had come up suddenly. First off,…read moreDr. Hill was late to nearly every appointment I had. Sometimes she would even be making herself tea, while being 10 minutes late to start my session, however, we would finish right on time, and rates were definitely not adjusted to reflect this. (This is a minor point but I felt it needed to be stated.) On approximately my 4th appointment with her I had a death anniversary, and another death that occurred that week that I really needed to discuss. At the beginning of our conversation I mentioned a book I was reading to help me through the process at which point she became extremely irritated. I was only to read the book she wanted me to read, and literally after becoming irritated we worked on a pie chart from her workbook. Zero questions about how I was doing, zero conversation about what is mentioned above, not to mention a pretty ridiculous and extreme diagnosis after two sessions. I wound up working with a much older, more experienced counselor who didn't rely on a workbook. I paid about 4x as much, but after 5 sessions she felt I no longer needed a counselor, and she did not agree with the rushed diagnosis I received from Dr. Hill. Dr. Hill did not feel present, nor did she feel emotionally mature enough to deal with extremely difficult issues. Her matter of fact, and dismissive approach did more harm than good. Glad I saw someone in Canada and glad I got a second opinion. Dr Hill seemed to immediately want to use medication as a solution to deaths and trauma that I'd experienced, which is not the solution I was seeking. Glad I found the right person after this experience. To anyone reading this, try to choose a counselor from word of mouth, rather than from a doctor referral, you'll be happier in the long run, even if it is a bit more footwork.

Dr. Reicht took a while to copy paper work and get the pmt. My husband didn't go in his office until 7:35 p.m. and was done by 8:10 p.m. Dr. Reicht said the paper work cut into his time. He still charged for an hour. Dr. Reicht's phone kept going off during the session and was not listening. We paid $100 for nothing.
