I was in the hospital for 6 days from very spicy food my brother in law made the night before. I had to be taken in by ambulance at 9:30am And given meds for 5 out of 6 days. I will never go back to this hospital! I also had to pay a fortune for care that wasn't necessary or accurate! My Father also had a horrible experience there (who passed in 2017) and so did my Mother earlier this year. Never again! If you need a hospital near Houston.....go to the medical center! Not Methodist! Just saying.

Things that I like about this location: There are two ultrasound/X-Ray, diagnostic departments. One within the hospital itself and one near the Breast cancer center allowing you to have multiple dates to choose from. Based on every emergency room visit and there were too many this year, while I wasn't always 100% satisfied because I think one ER person was in a mood, but overall every time I winded up there, I always was taken care of promptly and my needs were addressed. They contact my specialists too and I feel like they take me seriously, when I go there. For surgeries, the surgical team, suite, nurses are some of the best. One post recovery nurse even gave me a handwritten get well note post procedure. My husband was informed every step of the process and I liked that I had dates that worked with my work schedule. Parking is free, unlike lame Houston. I hate being sick, you've probably noticed the lack of Yelp reviews because of it, but the only reason I'm able to yelp or even have any semblance of life is because of this facility. I am thankful for them because otherwise, I'd be stuck going to terrible hospitals, which I won't bother naming. But if you've ben to them, you know.

Labor and Delivery Experience:…read more We love the nurses at this hospital. Almost all of them we interacted with were very kind, friendly, attentive, and professional. We had two babies here and no major complaints! Special thanks to Natalie, Pricilla, Azel, Alexia, Kimberley, Teddy, Manju, Erin, Tranh, Joanna, cleaning staff, surgeons, anesthesiologist, and Dr. Wong! My top four nurses are Natalie, Azel, Joanna (lactation nurse), and Alexia (NICU nurse). Dr. Wong is an amazing person and Doctor (highly recommend). Rooms are accommodating and provide basic necessities, but no more. There is a small couch (for the partner), shower, tiny TV, flat pillow, and thin blanket. If needed, they provide toothbrush, mouthwash, and towels. Room service meals are provided, even for the partner. The meals are ok. You order over the phone and they bring it to your room. We are generally satisfied with the portion and quality, considering it's hospital food. With that said, we were very disappointed at the "celebration meal" that they offered. Menu includes steak, salmon, etc. which seemed fancy, but what you get is quite sad. We actually both laughed when we uncovered the lid to reveal what was underneath (just look at the photo) - I thought it was a joke. Afterward the meal, I walked to Taco Bell and ordered some burritos. All our friends raved about the food at Methodist... You don't come here for the food, but it makes a difference in comfort during long stays. I appreciate the security measures to ensure random people don't enter the area or NICU room. Please keep this up and don't become complacent over time. Tips for couples expecting: - Have your overnight bag ready ahead time. Although they provide some of the basics, consider brining floss, conditioner, shampoo, iPad/book, your own pillow, etc. - Prepare baby seat - Setup a plan for someone to care for your pets while you are away. - Be friendly to all staff! They work so hard and do so much. - Order dinner before 7:00 pm. Cafeteria closes then. Minor Complaints: - Advice from one of the many lactation nurses was inconsistent. At one point, she said every drop counts and recommended swabbing even a drop baby's mouths. Later during the night, it wasn't recommended for that anymore when we asked if she could bring it down to the NICU. - Food Allowance rule is inconsistent with what's written on the menu. One day I'm allowed to order x amount of sides, the other day the rule changes.
