This hotel is not bad, if you plan to visit for couple of days. I have stayed in better hotels. Honestly I was having issues with the WiFi. I was not able to connect to Internet during my stay. This is a nice hotel, but nothing special. This is not a luxury hotel like some of the hotels in Europe. Rooms are huge and comfortable. They offer continental breakfast. They also have restaurant located on the first floor. This hotel also has a roof top. They are open most of the nights , if I remember right they are closed on Mondays. Also, this hotel is in walking distance to Metro and shopping center. During my stay in this hotel. I didn't have any issues communicating with staff. All of them spoke English and were nice and friendly. Breakfast is offered for 25 Euros. You can request it when booking the room. Parking is 31 Euros daily.

Of course we're American and the entire staff is speaking French so there's already a huge handicap in place. My wife speaks to the Supervisor for a few minutes and then she comes into the hotels eatery to tell me this news. So we wait, and wait and wait. From 6am to 11am. The hotel now is bustling with activity and I see people coming and going as well as stopping at the front desk to check in. I literally am sitting here watching the "Supervisor" take check in after check in and the "Priority" of getting us into our room is amiss. She doesn't come by to tell us anything. When I approach, I'm humble and not angry and I request that we be put into a room and once they get their systems on line we can complete our check in. She tells me as soon as a room is cleaned we can be taken in. I have counted at least 5 people within a twenty minute period be checked in and given keys to rooms yet, the couple that was here at 6am that had a reservation is still sitting in the cold cafe next door exhausted and ready to fall asleep. I don't know much about this company OR it's standard but if you're American, Black, and arrive early, do yourself a favor and walk a brisk 230 feet to one of the neighboring hotels because clearly, this hotel does not care if you have a reservation, have flown 10 hours OR is supported by one of the biggest companies in America. I wish I could give half a star because that is how it feels. On a positive note, our Uber driver was at least entertaining.

Dates of stay: September 9 - September 13, 2022 Room: 204…read more I was optimistic that this hotel, just outside of Paris, would be the perfect place for the Paris portion of our honeymoon, but it was pretty disappointing on multiple fronts. The first is that there was no upgrades available; seems odd that a Diamond member staying four nights would get a little something, but apparently not. Not the end of the world, just another little thing to add to the pile. Check in was at least efficient, we were able to get our keys and get over to our room within just a couple of minutes. The room however, left much to be desired. Not even sure where to start: The piece of art near the door was taken off the wall and remained sitting on the shelf in the entryway for the entire stay. There were hooks in the living room for another piece of art, but that was nowhere to be found. The room was relatively spacious for France, with a decent-sized closet and television, plus a small couch with a table that would have been good for a meal brought into the room. The mini fridge was helpful for stashing waters to keep hydrated and USB ports were plentiful for charging. The bed was also firm and had enough pillows for both of us. The bathroom was a big disappointment. There is no shelf in the shower, which is very small. I ended up tucking a towel into the rack in the back and stuffing items into the folds. Sadly, each day housekeeping undid this and I had to redo it to take a shower. The counter in the bathroom is a bit too small for two people though I appreciated the makeup mirror to check Housekeeping was scattershot; some days we received more water and others we did not. Some days we received a new complement of toiletry items and some days we did not. A crib sat a couple doors down from our room in the hallway for the first two days of our trip. Thankfully it was devoid of children when we came across it! The carpets on the second floor always looked as though they hadn't been vacuumed in days and I was relieved that I never dropped anything on the floor as I would then have to determine if I wanted to risk picking it up again or leave it as a gift of the wind, given the condition of the carpet. The gym was decent for the size of the hotel and never too busy, though why they left a giant container of disinfectant wipes open on the counter instead of in the container just above it was odd to me; each morning I had to throw away several dry wipes to get to one that would actually disinfect. Do not use the currency exchange services! When we visited, the Euro was at about even with the dollar, but the hotel was offering .77 Euros to the dollar, a giant windfall for the hotel! I just wish the other Hilton hotels in Paris weren't so expensive as this one was a bit of a dud.

They are currently undergoing renovations and the usual entrance wasn't accessible. There is nowhere by the hotel to physically drive up to it. You have to park far away and walk no matter what. They are attached to the CNIT Center, which would've been helpful to know when trying to find this place late at night (after 9pm you cannot enter the hotel through the daytime entrance). There is a parking garage conveniently located nearby to park at and they are also right at a metro stop, which was useful for coming and going around the city. The bathroom was gorgeous in our room. The bed was comfy. What I found odd is that the window is not actually to the outside, it's looking into the CNIT center. Really messed with the overall lighting in the room. If coming to Paris again, I'd opt for a hotel more conveniently situated for accessing by car, but this spot is nice and the staff are helpful.

We were waiting for a real breakfast and lingering near their restaurant before it opened. The front desk person came and shooed us away, adjusting the barrier rope ostentatiously. Evening front desk staff was more courteous and gave me a shaving razor which I'd forgot. They ran out of laundered bath towels and gave us two hand towels for our shower. Number one, in the room that I was staying in, there seemed to be parasitic bugs that looked like very tiny beetles in the bed. I am not from Paris so I don't know exactly what they were, but when i killed one there was a decent bright red splatter that stained my shirt. Although I was quite a bit freaked out i called the front desk at about one in the morning and they switched our room. the new room did not seem to have bugs, so hopefully that was just something to do with the people who stayed in that room before me. the next morning, i discovered mold on the shower walls and the shower was very hard to operate.

The one thing we had some trouble with was catching a taxi from here. It is a little far from the main part of the city but I didn't think it was going to be that hard to catch a ride from this area. Room was comfortable and big enough for the 3 of us. We had a queen bed and a pull out couch. The bed was ok, the bathroom was clean and very up to date, WiFi was free, fast, and easy to use, AND my room had a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. The hotel is within 2-3 minutes walking to Metro line 1 and is one stop away from the terminus La Défense. But because this hotel is in La Défense, there is not much open around it after business hours as this area of Paris is pretty dead in the nights and evenings. We decided on our first night since most in our group were pretty tired to just eat at the hotel. Big mistake! I got to France often and can say that I have never had a bad meal there except for at this hotel. Everything was entirely too mediocre which may be okay in some places but certainly not in France. Don't eat there! On the other hand, the breakfast buffet that they served every morning was above average but expensive. I probably would not have eaten here each morning if it was not included in my room rate. I would stay here again if others in my group wanted to, but for the money, I would rather stay somewhere in the center closer to places that stay open later.

I don't think most people come here unless they have to and I believe if they have to, locals just take the metro bc it's awful to drive and try to find your way around the confusing underground tunnels and signage and exits. A few times my uber (and even taxis) have been confused and couldn't figure out where to go. Anyway - the hotel itself is beautiful, with large and sumptuous rooms, very clean, a good breakfast buffet (for $26) and friendly and helpful staff. It's close to some dining (if you are willing to explore and roam around to find things bc google maps will only confuse you) and is about 5 minutes from a metro stop. There is a connected Starbucks and a quick walk up the way will take you to two different shopping malls to browse. The other nearby hotels also have plenty of dining. Gym downstairs is small but passable with minimal amenities. Suggest you run outside if able.

After a long flight, and a 90-minute taxi ride in traffic from CDG, I was more than ready for a shower, a coffee, and beginning the day here in Paris. (Ok, a quick nap was also on the agenda, but not enough to disturb my eventual night's sleep.) The Hotel Sofitel at La Defense welcomed me, got me in my room, which is lovely, and even gifted me with a few freshly-baked pastries to take up with me. Here are a few highlights: - The staff - They're very friendly, speak English, and are willing to indulge me in my French. - The shower with rainforest head and handshower, Hermes bath products, and ample, fluffy towels - The room is modern, stylish and well-equipped. No iron, but that was easily remedied with a call to the Front Desk. They also have 24 hour pressing/steaming of your clothes if you're feeling a bit lazy. - Room service was also, friendly, and the food quick and tasty. - While pulling up in a taxi makes you feel like you're in 'Escape From New York', once you surface you will find yourself smack in the middle of La Defense, with views of the arch, the Arc de Triomph, and even the Eiffel Tower...albeit way in the distance. - You are right at the metro station Esplanade de La Defense on the 1 line, ready to zip you into the center of Paris in minutes. I'll be leading a meeting here tomorrow, and if I learn anything contrary about the conference service experience, I'll update this review. If you see no update, it was all good...no defense necessary.

My trip immediately began rocky when as I arrived here from CDG I left my wallet either on the top of the taxi or dropped in front of the hotel. The staff here attempted to assist me, allowed me to call my banks to cancel my cards and tried to reach out to the cab company. The one troublesome thing I found was I asked them could I see the footage of the camera to see who picked up my wallet and they told me they couldn't. I was told that I would need to go to the police station and get their authorization to allow the staff to view the video-- that makes absolutely no sense! The hotel staff was very helpful. I needed to make two reservations that the website was totally in French and they took the time to help me out, which I appreciated. The room itself was decent but it was extremely warm and made it difficult to sleep. The one pillow provided was terrible and it didn't allow for much comfortable. The sofa bed was fine for my daughter but don't believe it's suitable for an adult as their is a bar in the middle of the bed. Overall, I had a pretty decent stay here and appreciated the assistance that was provided. The hotel is a short distance from the Westfield mall and La Defense train station.

The rooms are left in a disgusting state of disrepair. The bathrooms stink of backed up grossness from sewer stench of the bowels of hell. We suspect the room freshener is a feeble attempt to mask the sewer type stench emanating in the room. There is housekeeping. I happened to walk by one of the housekeepers who looked disheveled, unkempt, and wreaked of marijuana (she also had a killer smokers cough). Gross. The customer service is awful, indifferent, and sad. I would never ever recommend this dump of a hotel. The Sofitel Montevideo is not a 5 star hotel. You will not have a 5 star experience. Terrible. Taxis/Uber's take at least 10 minutes to arrive, and Uber can't even find the place on a map. It's a 60 minute walk to the jardin on Champs Elysee, which is great on a beautiful day, but obviously not practical. There are restaurants within 15-20 minutes walk, but nothing nearby. The grout in the bathroom was peeling, there are no outlet converters, and the nespresso machine gave too large a pour for the small cups they give in the rooms. Room service offers a very basic, not at all French menu. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you really had to stay here. People get really excited about the Starbucks in the lobby, which I find sad because you're in Paris!
