I was happy to find this needlepoint supply store on Yelp. Since all recommendations were in Italian I wasn't sure if I would be able to communicate my needs in English but the saleslady was eager to help and found everything I needed. I was on Rome on vacation and wanted to pick up some Italian yarn. I found this shop on Google and wandered by. The experience is very different from US yarn shops. In Rome, the yarn is in bags behind the counter. You are given a book to look at and then have to ask for the color/amount you want. I speak passable Italian so was able to communicate sufficiently well, and had read about how different the experience is so was prepared. The two women who helped me were delightful and wanted to hear about how yarn shops worked in the United States. They were shocked when I showed them pictures of my local yarn shop to see all the yarn out on display "for everyone to touch and get dirty." We had a good laugh and bonded as only those who love yarn, whatever your language, can. I picked up three beautiful balls of Italian wool and was on my way. read more

This shop was a delightful find. The staff was so warm and willing to help, even though I was having to ask for my needs through Google Translate on my phone. My 3.25 mm wooden needles had broken in travel and I needed a replacement while vacationing here in Rome. Not only did the young clerk help me with that, she introduced me to Lana Gatto (which I had never used) Sofia yarn. It will be beautiful in a scarf I have planned! I also truly LOVE the way the types of yarn were presented in a book for my perusal - so much easier to find the type yarn I like rather than the higgledy-piggledy manner of looking through shelf after shelf.
