Most stalls sold similar items. We did grab some oysters salty and unsalted. I preferred the salted one as it was less brinier. The lady liked the unsalted. It was 10euro for 4! They also had plenty of stalls with cured meats, cheeses, fresh squeezed juices, and like a fried outer dough with meat filling treats. I have no idea what they are called but we got some haha! Overall pretty chill spot, when we left and went out a back alleyway exit, there was some youngings one of which walked passed us then immediately turned and got super close following us. Not sure if they were filming pickpocket pranks or what but stand your ground and tell them off. Our only weird interaction really with possible pickpockets this trip that we noticed.

Built in the early 1900s it has been the epicenter of the city center life for decades. Easy access thanks to great public transportation make this market ideal for going from different points of town of towns nearby. Fresh local products with lots of attention to detail and aesthetics. I cannot stop by visiting every time I am in town!

This is a splendid town market, housed in an impressive Modernista building…read more Although Terrassa had had a market since mediaeval times in the main square (now the Plaça Vella), the city council decided early in the 20th century that the town needed a purpose-built building. Begun in 1903, it was completed in 1908 on the hundredth anniversary of the start of the War of Independence, and named in its honour. The building is largely the work of the architect Antoni Pascual i Carretero, but he was replaced in 1906 by Melcior Vinyais i Muñoz. It is a good example of the Catalan version of Art Nouveau, called Modernism, and its light and airy interior structure is the oldest large modernist metal structure in the town. As well as the exterior of curving, rounded arch windows, the interior has some nice decorative touches, including an impressive 'bouquet' chandelier in the main entrance hall. The market is still thriving: its three wings contain a wide variety of butchers, bakers, green-grocers, grocers, dairy and delicatessen stalls, as well as a couple of cafes. However, there are genuine contenders like Mercat de Sant Antoni housed in a beautiful, mid-19th-century octagon-shaped building (review: https://yelp.to/QfoN2pYfE_) and this one just rebuilt in 2005 with a kaleidoscopic roof designed as a ceramic wave. It's a more modern space inside with fresh seafood and produce stands alternating with spice purveyors and prepared food counters. All of it looked appetizing though there wasn't much seating on the premises. Through its various iterations in the atmospheric La Ribera neighborhood, the market has been here since 1848.
