Absolutely loved this market! My wife and I came here when we landed in Portugal to try and find a place to eat. There were probably more than 20 vendors to choose from. It's very very busy and finding a table was quite difficult. We ended up eating outside at a nearby table we found. Prices weren't too bad and the service was quite fast. read more

I will be the first to say that when I visit a new city, the first thing on my mind are farmers markets or indoor markets. Mercado was one I had planned out ahead of time and was quite excited to visit once I got to Cordoba! The walk to market was simple as it was only down the street from my hotel. In correlation to the city center it is an easy walk as well, maybe 20 minutes or so? The inside is not the largest market ever, but it offers plenty of treats! You can get your typical local produce/fruits, enjoy a drink at a bar, or grab some snacks on the go. There is plenty of seating inside and outside and a few bathrooms on site that are free. Pricing is a tad more expensive than your typical grocery store, but you should know that heading into any market as you pay for local and fresh food and also the experience. I ended up grabbing a local sweet dessert wine and also some local olives, which were wonderful! Definitely worth a trip if you have the time to spare in Cordoba, it will not let you down! read more

The girl at the front desk of our hotel recommended we come here to eat. It's a food market with a limited selection, and the food all seemed overpriced. You have your choice of tapas, seafood, empanadas, hot dogs, etc. We were looking for something more local, so after circling the market and not seeing anything that really caught our eye for cheap, we left. This market has a lot of variety including many international dishes. Since we were tourists we tried some Spanish dishes... sardines and anchovies on toast. Also had some delicious Spanish olives. This was a fabulous place to grab lunch. Our bus driver on the Cordoba Hop On Hop Off bus called Pavo who met us at the door and gave us a stall by stall your to show us all the Mercado had to offer. Absolutely one of the best markets I've ever been too. There are approximately 24-30 vendors onsite serving you an amazing helping of gourmet fares. From bull spine, falafel, deep fried cheese to an unlimited else of amazingness - this place is definitely worth checking out. I walked here from the Eurostar's hotel and it took me 20 mins - which is very reasonable. Once I got here - I could not stop eating. I almost tried everything at every booth. Staff were friendly, food was top notch and prices (again) were very reasonable - coming from the Canadian dollar. This place is an absolute must place visit. There is also a very lively bar with checking out and was definitely the centre of attraction (but just not my sort of thing). Have fun!!! read more

Very interesting format, a mix of supermarket, open terraces and a variety of tapas bar and other cuisines inside the modern yet located in a classic avenue premises. It was great to see it open on a Sunday afternoon, when many bars and restaurants are closed. I got there because of the very interesting and well designed graffiti painted on one wall, the perfect decor to give an urban vibe to this eclectic place. This is an acceptable food court. It's not a traditional market in that you can't buy produce. Big , only ready-to-eat food and drinks. They cater to all tastes, which I didn't love, because it meant they had a very limited selection of Spanish foods. It was very popular, but I personally didn't care for it. read more

Have yet to try more of the food "stalls" other than the ones for beer, basic bites and a couple palmeras de chocolate (chocolate-covered flaky pastry). Positive impression so far, if a tad bit pricey compared to what you can find in other, individual locations. However, the convenience of getting to sample various plates, wines, and desserts make the prices worthwhile. The location is fantastic -- practically in between the Judaria and Renfe train station -- and is a popular spot during the weekends for evenings out and groups who want to relax with some drinks and food. You might be a bit hard-pressed to find seats then, but go anyways. During the weekdays before evening hours, Victoria is open during siesta hours and relatively empty. If interested, it's a good option for students who want access to snacks and the like while doing some quick studying. Granted, the tables and seats aren't exactly meant to accommodate students, but you can make it work. read more

Loved this market! I feel like when you're in Spain you should go to the tapas bars and eat the local food but honestly it was really refreshing to eat something other than tapas. This market had it all from traditional salmorejo, pizza, noodles, falafel, sushi, and empanadas. There's lovely seating arrangements both in and outside with AC/fans. Came here for lunch and had a seafood salad which was about 8 euros for the larger size and enough to fill me up. This was probably the best seafood salad I have ever had-so light and juicy which was perfect for a hot day. We also had a couple beers outside and enjoyed it here so much that we decided to come back for dinner! I tried the salmorejo which I believe is native to Cordoba. I liked the flavor but it is a pretty heavy dish and I think would have tasted better if served at room temperature instead of cold. The person at the booth was super friendly. I also had a chicken empanada which was pretty sizable and stuffed with meat. I just wish they had some hot sauce to go with it. You can also get hookah if you're sitting outside. We didn't stay very late but we heard that it becomes more of a party scene late into the night and early morning. read more

A great lunch spot. The market has stalls with various cuisines ranging from a fresh salad to cheese plate to burgers to Chinese to fresh fish to sausage and more. The place had many gluten free options that included celiac friendly salmorejo (cold vegetable/ bread soup), grilled meats, and many different tapas, but my favorite was the Venezuelan arepa place. Their entire menu was gluten free. We ordered fried yuca and 3 different types of arepas. An arepa is like a sandwich made using a very thick corn tortilla as bread. The kids especially enjoyed the ease of this handheld dish. read more
