But that's pretty common these days, not just for Farmer's Market, but parking in general. Lots of food options and I don't just mean vegetables. You could pretty much have breakfast and lunch here. And enough so you can skip dinner. I almost wonder if there are more food options than other vendors. I didn't count. Don't get me wrong - still a lot of Knick knacks and other items to browse/buy other than food - maybe even something like I grabbed - a western cowboy hat. Finally got me one. Sorry - no pics. Anyway, it's busy, colorful, and fun, and it has that San Diego weekend energy. Definitely check it out if you like fresh food, people watching and spending more money than you meant to.

I totally forgot about the market, and told her if we can't find a parking space, we're not stopping. And of course, we found one. The best time to go is when they first open. Everyone is friendly before the heat of the day takes its toll...LOL! Except for the "oh so cool wannabe influencer" whose dog wanted to meet Cako but she just pulled her dog away...Eeeewww! LOL! But it's not crowded and easy to walk through. Cako just lead me down the long aisle and our first stop was True Pet Kitchen. She didn't want the chicken treat but she was all over the salmon one! So we bought a bag...err...I bought her a bag. We then wandered down to Kettner. She then pulled me over to Stark, and the friendly guy offered a duck jerky, which she was happy to take. She then sat down for another, and he obliged. So I bought a bag from them too! We stopped at the Honeymoon Ranch stand for some baked goods! There was a man loading up a suitcase and apparently he bought all the banana bread. We scored our own, which was all for me. Great place to come to, but even better for your four legged furry family. If I come down again, it will be around 7:45, just before they open. Cako Approves!

There are always a few local musicians at either end of the market strip and if you walk down by the water, there's usually a big group of people in a drum circle and dancing. Parking is brutal. Best to get there at the beginning of the farmers market for a better chance of finding a free spot and not having to pay for one of the lots as they can be quite pricey.

Make sure to come early as parking can be a bit tricky, especially if you want to park closer to the farmers' market. Once you get parked though, everything is a breeze. They even have tables and chairs around for people to eat at. There's also a playground for families who have little ones! I could never go to a farmers' market and leave without fresh flowers, so of course I had to pick up some from Hidalgo Flowers. They always have the most colorful and stunning arrangements, and for a decent price too. This time, I got a bunch with the prettiest sunflowers. We also picked up the sweetest and reddest strawberries from this one vendor. I highly regret not getting their name, but I will definitely be on the hunt for them the minute we go back. We got a cup of strawberries with some dark chocolate sauce from Strawberries and Chocolate. That was sooo good! We devoured it so quickly, we didn't even get to take a picture of it. One of the standouts for me was the Pork Sisig Rice from Baryo Eats. It was AHHHHMAZING!! It's the best kind of pork sisig that I love to eat--the taste was so good and nostalgic, it took me back to my college days back in the Philippines! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We also got some Paella from Driana Catering/Taste of Spain. It was so flavorful and the rice was cooked to perfection. We were just sad they ran out of shrimp by the time we got some, so we were left with chicken only. We got some goodies from It's Cafe Thai as well--Milk Tea with Boba, Taro Thai Coffee, and the Mango Sticky Rice. All of them had just the right amount of sweetness and hit the spot for us. Lastly, we had some of the watermelon and the cucumber lemonade refreshers, and the chicken and pork tamales from Gourmet Tamales. They were so good, we even took some home for later! I didn't see many organic produce stands, but I didn't have the chance to ask if the others use organic practices (pesticide/spray free) yet. All of the vendors are really friendly & knowledgable. This farmers market is extremely dog friendly so be aware if you have allergies. The only downside to this market is how rude people can be when it comes to their dogs. We've seen owners let their dogs go to the bathroom just steps away from vendor tents and it's disgusting. Overall a really nice farmers market with lots of yummy food & local produce.
