This was another favorite restaurant stop on our truly decadent eating tour of Frankfurt's North-End neighborhood. Considering we were staying for over two weeks, we got to experience most every cuisine the adjoining streets had to offer.
Mera Masala was a MUST-TRY Indian joint with comfy seating (was not packed when we went), very attentive and friendly service, a mostly English menu as well, and honestly amazing prices.
We opted to try:
- Chicken Tikka (since we get that at every Indian place we go to). It was meaty, flavorful, just spicy enough, and the saucy-goodness was spot on.
- Biryani rice compilation with fruits, nuts, veggies, and flavored rice. This was to say "Great" may not be enough. The flavors were WOW and the amount of food was just amazingly ridiculous. I'm usually not a Biryani person at home, and opt for a veggie dish like Korma's, but this was a surprising blend of flavor and ingredients.
- We got an appetizer of samosas, and they were piping hot and delicious too.
- The Naan bread was good, but the portions were pretty small. We had to order a second plate because it was the only disappointment (note one "order" is roughly a half-circle piece of naan cut in two. Which is odd, but is what it is).
I thought overall the experience was amazing and would highly recommend to anyone.
