September. Greatness. This place has become THE pub to spend my weekends at in the last years…read more Well, before moving to Hamburg, that is. But this fine Pub has managed to drag me back to Lüneburg on almost every single weekend so far, so I guess it still counts. What is wrong with you? You live in Hamburg! Town of the cheap beer and neat parties! Why would you go to Lüneburg just for a pub all the time?, you ask? Well, I shall tell you. The September is just right. You can walk in there as a complete stranger and feel welcome almost immediately. You get to sit around in one of the most comfy smokers' areas there is. You are supplied by the friendliest waitresses (and waiters) I know of. And last but not least: You get to hang around 'till the pub closes - which is about never. Seriously, they stay opened LONG. If you're not convinced yet, I suggest you stay home. I rest my case.

A huge variety. Nice tall room, good modern music. Young personal try to do their work.read more

Right in the middle of the Altstadt (old city) of Lüneburg!…read moreThe kutscherstube is a mixture of german and italian restaurant. i think the owner is italian. They have a wide choice of food, whether it is meat, fish or vegetarian. I got the Wiener schnitzel and i was suprised when i got it i had never seen a bigger piece of meat! it was as big as the plate i got it in. however the only downside of the place (and everyone agreed) the side order was VERY little. i had ordered my schnitzel with potato and i got 5 pieces of potato. i would have much rather have had half the meat and a bit more potatoes, but oh well the most important thing is that we all were very full afterwards they offer wine and beer a good choice in Lüneburg

The entrance is through the courtyard directly into the bar area. The woodwork and craftsmanship were simply gorgeous. Our host led us to the restaurant side as we were there for dinner. My husband got the beef tips and gravy over noodles with a beet salad. The beef was so rich, flavorful, and tender with the gravy perfectly complimenting the flavor of the beef. Not a fan of beets by any measure, he absolutely loved the beet salad which was sweet and served cold. My daughter and I got the schnitzel and it was absolute perfection. We finished the meal with creme brûlée which was topped with rasberry sorbet, fresh fruit, and spun sugar. Creme brûlée is by far my favorite dessert and, in my 50+ years, this was the best by far! The restaurant is not huge. However, the wait staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The dinning area is simple yet elegant without feeling like you need to be dressed up. I definitely would recommend this place...even if you don't like beer. It is the oldest brewery in Lüneberg.
