My boyfriend and I made quite the trek up from the Trastevere area to get the the Gianicolo Hill. On my travel research I really wanted to come here at Noon since they would shoot a blank cannon daily, a continued tradition since ancient times as a way to signal time. We missed the cannon due to other travel plans, but it was still nice to walk up and appreciate the view of the city. There is a bus stop at the top, but the route had some delays and we waited a bit for it to come. Not a necessary visit, but great if you like nature and a panoramic view.
