Worst moving experience we've ever had. They manhandled all of our boxes and some of them were damaged. I'm convinced they dropped our washing machine which is now completely dented in the front. It was raining and some of our boxes were soaked and the contents damaged. They destroyed a vintage dresser from the 70s which had survived several moves prior. Thank goodness we moved our computers, jewelry, and other valuables ourselves; I wouldn't trust them with anything of value. Very disappointed. Buyer beware ! I had two moves with this company. The first move was great - moving some items from my home to storage. The second move was to move all of my belongings from NC to GA. I had purchased a lot of boxes to pack myself and I discussed with Kasey, the move coordinator, if Men on the Move could use my boxes, she indicated that would be OK. This dates of my move were critical as I was closing on my house within two days of the scheduled move. On the day of the move, Jason - the job foreman, had his crew busy packing and loading. I asked him about using my boxes and he blew up with a violent, yelling reaction of accusing me of trying to steal from him personally and his company. He then threatened me with walking off the job if I brought up the issue of using my boxes again. I called Kasey and left a message that there "seems to be a communication issue" and would she call me. She called Jason to understand what was happening. Jason then instructed his crew to unload the truck and leave. He then told me he had the authority to leave the job and strand me and said "good luck" getting moved. Men on the Move eventually called back, apologizing for him leaving and asked if they could continue the move. I agreed. However, between Jason leaving me stranded and a house closing in two days, I had to make an emergency arrangement with another company with a non-refundable deposit of over $8000. The move with Men on the Move continued smoothly with a new crew. The new crew all apologized to me for what Jason had done and said this was what Jason has done more than once to other customers. My realtor approached Tiffany, the office manager about what had happened to me. He told me Tiffany took full responsibility for what happened, that Men on the Move was at fault, she was sorry, but did not offer to do anything about what it had cost me. If you choose to uses Men on the Move I can only tell you that if Jason is your job foreman, beware. He came across as a very volatile, petulant child that can threaten you and your move. read more

Outstanding service. I can't say enough good things about Men on the Move. We moved from Blairsville GA to Myrtle Beach SC. The communication with the office was excellent, and let us know what each step in the process would be. On moving day, Jason, Jacob, Ben and Kody loaded everything with care and we had no concerns after watching them work. Upon arrival in Myrtle Beach, Jason and Jacob had the truck unloaded in a short period of time, and everything was handled properly. We hired Men on the Move for a large relocation from Georgia to Maryland. Initially, the process seemed promising. Conversations with Kasey were pleasant, and our email exchanges were smooth. After much deliberation, we opted to have the company pack our belongings, largely because Kasey explained that self-packed items wouldn't be covered under their policy. What wasn't made clear, however, was that this "coverage" only applied to damages occurring during transit. Once the items were in storage--even if loaded carelessly--the company disclaimed responsibility entirely. Packing day seemed uneventful, as my wife handled most of the process. The movers delivered our items to a storage unit in Maryland on time. Upon their arrival, I generously tipped the crew $300 in cash, a decision I regret given what transpired. When I asked if they needed me to stick around, they assured me they didn't and said they would call if there were any issues. They never called, so I assumed (wrongly) everything had gone smoothly. The real nightmare began when we moved our items from storage into our new home, using a different, national moving company. When their crew accessed the storage unit, they immediately contacted us with alarming news. The unit was filled with damaged items--something they described as the worst they'd ever seen. They took over 60 photos documenting the extensive damage, ranging from broken furniture to shattered heirlooms. Some items damaged are irreplaceable- a family heirloom secretary desk with its antique glass shattered by a carelessly placed jack handle. Some items damaged can be replaced but at a high cost- a 75" TV improperly stored upright on the storage unit floor, not boxed or wrapped, now unusable due to a large crack. The process of carefully removing and documenting the broken items by the other moving company significantly increased our moving costs, as it required extra time and effort. The moving crew's sympathetic response was the only silver lining, contrasting sharply with the dismissive and insulting attitude we later encountered from Men on the Move. When we presented Men on the Move with our list of damages and photographic evidence, their response was infuriating. They denied responsibility, suggesting we might have accessed the unit ourselves and caused the damage. To add insult to injury, they offered us a mere $250 in compensation--less than the tip I gave their crew. The irreplaceable nature of some of the damaged items, coupled with the dismissive response from Men on the Move, has left us deeply disappointed and disheartened. While they can technically move items from one location to another, our personal experience shows they cannot do so safely or with care. read more

This company absolutely misrepresented itself, showing up on packing day without the promised number of people and saying this is what was agreed to. I knew I was in trouble when their main worker who apparently his been with them for 20 years did not blanket or plastic wrap anything. Then he was just throwing items, antique chairs etc on top of the other items in the truck. I asked him to please be careful and make sure and wrap and place items so they would be protected. I have an interior design firm and was moving my showroom inventory all high end custom furnishings to a new storage warehouse location 5 hours away. It was a large job, almost $9000. The attitude of this guy was awful and this is just the beginning of the terrible experience with this company. They had three large trucks and loaded two different locations. The crew was supposed to meet me after loading the first location at the second location about 4 mikes away, immediately after leaving the first location, they had the address. I waited for an hour and called them, the office, Casey called them and no answer, no response. They finally showed up and said they went to the wrong location, and they had the correct address so I'm not sure why they disappeared for an hour. i asked them to be particularly careful with one piece of furniture, about a $20,000 value. By the time they got it to the truck and I just happened to go to take a look, they had broken all the glass out of the inset doors and they told me it was already broken before they moved it. Once they were finished packing we planned to meet the next morning at the facility 5 hours away. It was already about 5pm and I drove straight to the destination that evening. The next morning I went to the new warehouse and only one truck showed up, I asked where are the other trucks were and was told they would be there, they got held up. They finally showed up and starting unloading, it was ok in the beginning but after a couple of hours things were just getting thrown into the spaces, no attention to how things were labeled fragile or breakable or any kind of organization. It crossed my mind that things were missing and with 5 storage units and everything being put in different units without me being able to see everything I could not be sure. At the end the main fellow admitted they had broken the glass from the china cabinet on a door frame but would pay the $40 to repair it. Since the glass on this piece of furniture is inset in the wood and would have to be custom made this would not even be close to covering the cost. I have started to check off my inventory from 5 storage spaces and I was correct there were things missing, big pieces of furniture, a 87" custom console, a nightstand, all new furniture also some personal items that were moved. I'm still going through inventory and boxes. I saw these items being loaded onto the truck at my original warehouse but they never got delivered to the new warehouse. I took photos of each unit that day before we left to make sure I had a record of the spaces. I called and talked to Casey and Angela they both were unconcerned and said they did not steal my furniture or break the glass on the cabinet that was promised to be turned in to them on the paperwork. The console would sell for about $7500, the nightstand $3500 and I'm not sure what the cabinet repair will cost at least a few hundred dollars. Who knows what I will find when I start unpacking boxes. I'm so disappointed in this company and would never recommend them. Stay away. read more

I don't normally review a business but must make an exception. Arrived with an insufficient amount of packing material. Crew size was sufficient but did not get along with each other. Complained, complained about moving goods to storage. Contents were removed and transported to final destination a few months later by another company who took great pains pointing out damage to furniture before they would even touch items. Unpacking revealed much damage to both fragile and un-fragile items, some of which are irreplaceable. Furniture damaged include antiques and handmade items that are not fixable. I could go on but either you trust my review or not. If they respond to this review they will blame the customer as if we were responsible for the quality of the move. read more

Men on the Move out of Young Harris promised to take extra care with our antique items and then didn't. They caused thousands of dollars in damage, leaving nearly nothing unscathed. see my Google review for photos. They kept none of their promises and after being contacted repeatedly, they told us that it wasn't their problem after they dropped it off at our storage unit. They took no responsibility for how poorly they had packed the storage unit, which was the reason for much of the damage and asked us if you were so worried, why didn't you pay for extra insurance coverage. I didn't know you could break a couch frame, but they did. They promised to wrap and pad large heirloom antique furniture and then didn't. I noticed it as they were loading it and reminded them to pad it, which they said they would do. They didn't. It ended up with a metal pipe through the glass. I would have padded if myself, but the owner told us specifically not to because they like to know it was done correctly. We paid $7,000 and then they broke nearly all of our furniture and were rude about it. read more

I needed an in-home move from a garage apartment to the basement in my home. I had put this off for several months knowing the removal of a sleeper sofa would draw resistance from the movers. Well to my surprise Fred and Jason just picked it up and took it down the outside stairs BANG the hard part was over. The balance of my needs were taken care of in record time. After Fred and Jason had left my wife said to me"why didn't we use them for our Marietta to Blairsville move"! She had a great question. We used a company in the Atlanta metro area with a street as their name 5 years ago. To say the experience was awful would be a compliment. By the end of the day we felt threatened and almost like hostages. So Men On The Move is the way to go for all your moving needs. Very refreshing to have people want to earn your business. read more

Our mother's movers refused to wear masks in her house or in the assisted living residence where she was moving -- even tho we had called their office the day before to confirm that they *would* be wearing masks. We explained to the men that the residence required all guests to wear masks and they basically refused. They were rude and walked off the job, leaving us stranded. When we called their office about it, we were told "these are healthy men and they don't have to wear masks." After several calls, they finally got us a crew for the next day who agreed to wear masks at the assisted living residence end of the move. They rushed through the move, said they had another job to get to and wanted to leave before they had shifted the furniture to the spaces we needed them moved. I would *never* recommend this company to anyone. read more

These guys were great! After a long 13+ hour drive from FL to North Carolina with all of our belongings in the back of a U-Haul we discovered our driveway was way too steep for my husband to get the U-Haul up safely. We found out we could not legally park the U-Haul at street level and unload there and would have to hire movers to shuttle stuff. We called Men On The Move and thankfully they Jason and his two crew members were able to get the U-Haul up the driveway instead of having to shuttle our belongings. They were friendly and courteous, fast and best of all affordable, they even had a few funny jokes to boot. We would definitely hire them for our next move instead of doing any of it ourselves. read more

I have moved several times the past few years and have had some bad experiences but this company is the worst. They moved our furniture out and was very fast at it , they put our belongings in a storage unit that was not climate controlled and out in a field in the country. We had a home that was under construction and not completed yet. The storage unit was over run with spiders and the movers did damage in the thousands to our furniture. I had to give one star as there wasn't anything lower. read more

Where to begin. This company is fantastic. We moved from a really large,fairly high dollar home in the mountains of NC to a townhome in Fl. #1) Jason, the driver...if you live in the mountains this is the man you want. It's very tricky driving a 40' truck into mountainous terrain, narrow/steep roads. #2) So Jason, Ben & Kurt emptied out this very large home between 9am & 5pm. Hustle doesn't even begin to describe what they did. I have never seen anyone work this hard, this steady and this carefully. Our belongings arrived 2 days later and were unloaded between 8am and 1:30 pm. Cursory inspection reveals no visible damage. Jason & Ben were INCREDIBLE. I simply don't know how they did this, nor can I compliment them enough. Polite and accomodating doesn't begin to describe their demeanor....even as I had them place and then move more than 1 large piece of furniture. They couldn't have been more polite or well manored. They were very conscientous. If you live anywhere in the region you'd be foolish not to use this company...oh, and they were the MOST cost effective company too. Honest, good value, quality personnel...not traits commonly found in the world of movers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

They got me moved in under the 4 hour minimum, but the guys were smoking around my belongings. Standing in the truck, texting, smoking. And I have no idea what they did to my Weber charcoal grill... but when I took the cover off to use it for the first time after the move, it totally fell apart. The legs were disconnected, broken, no way to fix it. I asked the manager to please help me, no response after I sent a photo showing the broken grill.
