More challenging than the stairs at McHugh Bluffs (q.v.) and a better view.

The marshals can control them remotely and slow down or speed up all the karts. I felt that the marshals did a great job of making sure everyone was safe and keeping an eye on the track. That was reassuring for me as it was my 11-year-old brother's first time here. There was even a safety video explaining what to do and not to do on the track. The marshals were very kind and helpful. Cons: We came on a weekday because we figured it would be less busy and we were right. However, we waited for hours and hours between races. We were there for a total of four hours just to do three races for one person. I understand that they separate the races by skill and they wouldn't put a beginner (my younger brother) with skilled racers. There needs to be a better way though. They have two vending machines, a couple of arcade games, that's it. There's also nothing around the area to do except for the Rec Room. My brother really enjoyed racing, but the wait was just too long and the races too pricey. I'm assuming if you are coming in as a group the wait will go by faster. I would recommend making a reservation for this place and bringing something to do (cards, Nintendo Switch, etc) while you 're waiting, because you will be doing a lot of it.

Calgary, this is your best kept secret…read more Now, please understand that part of me, wants to keep it that way; the other parts want to share with you... the nature that exists within the confines of the city limits. The Weaselhead Natural Reserve (natural area) is truly, a remarkable place. First and foremost, it lays over a map area that is the delta to the Glenmore Reservoir. It's meandering Elbow River flows through a changing channel that has left deep clefts in the surrounding hillsides and marked it's way across the eskers that exist below Calgary. Whether ye be a biker, a hiker, a runner, a dog walker, a stone skipper, a tree lover, a calm river flowing reveller or any number of combinations of said activities and the inclusion of your own, this place runs the realm on all the above. I've been visiting the Weaselhead for over 20 years. I've seen it change and am still amazed at how, with each visit, it brings me to a new place... most times, within the same places; down the same paths, only to discover something entirely new. And for me, to see the changing face of a natural space over time, is much like understanding one's own life... And indeed, the Weaselhead, is capable of assisting with these types of meditations; in as much as it is capable of showing you what "the now" looks like. Spend an afternoon, evening, early morning... all will do, and you may find yourself, drawn back, much like I was... mythical within reality.

Over 2 acres of gardens - with over 500 trees, 50 varieties of plants, fountains, fish ponds, and a 900 sq. ft. living wall, fountains that acts as a natural bio filter. Many of the plants are labeled and there are interesting info signs scattered about. There's a kids playground and even a small climbing wall on one end. Scattered throughout are lots of bistro style tables and chairs. And they have a permanent sculpture exhibit by Tom Ward - such whimsical wooden sculptures - they fit perfectly in the gardens. And turns out, the sculptor was a City of Calgary employee! The city parks department maintains the gardens and they do a lovely job. It was spotless inside and such a relaxing place to take a break after tons of walking around the city. Definitely worth a stop when exploring the downtown core. Highly recommend!

Ideally, two cars would be best because you can leave one vehicle at the exit where the shop is and the other should be where the launch site is. You can also choose the shuttle service if you don't want to deal with driving. The staff were very friendly and helpful, describing the entire path. In addition, one of the employees were waiting for us at the end of our float to help take our boat in. The prices are pretty reasonable. We decided to get a 6 person boat for extra comfort and the 4 of us were able to lounge and tan in the boat. It was about 25 bucks per person between the four of us and the float was about 2.5 hours. The whole package comes with life jackets for everyone including 2 paddles. We absolutely loved our experience floating down bow river and we would definitely try lazy day rentals again as our experience was rather positive.

They had life jackets for everyone and took the time to make sure they fit right. It was about 2 hours - just shy of - from Edworthy to Eau Claire. We got off on the north side of the river past the peace bridge. Next time we would likely do the south side as the incline was less with kids - although the walk with the raft would be a little longer. Either way, great way to spend a warm afternoon and enjoy a little Stay Cation.
