As a Nebraska outsider, I don't have any fond memories of this place, so maybe my review will be a little more objective. It's a good stadium, that seems to have had upgrades placed right on top of the old stadium. The facade seems brand new, but other parts of the stadium were really old. It's a little smaller than it looks actually, which can be both a good and a bad thing. The views are great, but the atmosphere can really be lacking, especially if the Cornhuskers aren't winning the game. My only real gripe was that you can not go fully around the stadium once you're inside, as the concourse is blocked at various times. Make sure you go into the right gate, or you might have to go out and re-enter from somewhere else. It's also all benches, and they seem to do a fantastic job of selling people these portable chairs that fit right onto the benches. In my view, why not just put those in before the game starts so everyone has a backrest, because it feels like they're just trying to make another buck (or 7) off of you. On the plus side, the there's history and tradition on it's side, which always helps you to enjoy a game like this. And they do have Runza, which if you've never had, is a must. read more

Honestly, it does not get better than Lincoln, NE on gameday. And Memorial Stadium is as close to a shrine to everything that is good about college football. Not a bad seat anywhere in the house. Now, you might move like molasses getting to your seat, and going to the restroom, and buying a Runza, and leaving, and maybe even adjusting your cheeks while sitting (if you are lame enough to sit), but it is all worth it. read more

This is by far the best place to watch a football game. This stadium is one of the most historic and holds one of the most successful college football teams in the US. The concessions are great because the booths are close together so you don't have to walk to the other side of the stadium to get what you want if one of the booths didn't have it. The bathrooms are easily accessible and have plenty of room. The seats are benches so your not cramped and uncomfortable in a plastic seat like you would at an NFL game. This stadium can actually hold more people than any NFL stadium. Also there are guys who walk around selling food so you can also purchase food from your seat if you don't want to miss any of the action. Memorial Stadium is a solid and easy 5 stars! read more

Visited memorial stadium from no to watch the Cornhuskers beat Rutgers scarlet Knights. What a thrilling atmosphere ... This is big time football at its finest. A true sea of red and a loud loyal crowd. The seating is concrete benches so we picked one of the portable seats with backs they sell on the way in ... Just $5 a real bargain. I am an ISU fan. My husband is a Husker fan. I am basing my rating off of Jack Trice Stadium as it really is a modern and interactive stadium for fans. Memorial stadium is old... but as my husband says it holds a lot of history. The architecture and environment is truly amazing. I gave Memorial stadium 3/5 as 1. The bathrooms were very unclean. 2. We had difficulty finding the section we were supposed to be sitting in as it was not labeled and there were no staff around to assist. We were even kicked out of our seats by someone who told us we were in the wrong section... eventually we found a staff member who led us write back to the seats we were originally in. 3. Where we were sitting the structure of the stadium blocked a lot of our view - so we ended up watching plays on the tv in front of us. 4. The concession stand options are minimal - Runzas, Valentino's pizza, hot dogs, popcorn, and candy were the majority of the selection. They did have an ice cream stand, but I waited in line for 15 minutes before I gave up as the line wasn't moving. I will say the fans and the red balloons are fun to see at the stadium and the Husker win was also a lot of fun! I just feel the stadium could make a few updates :) read more

Has to be the most electric atmosphere in sports I have ever been in. The fans and experience are great. I have been all over the world to sporting events for high school to professional, in every sports from tennis to the NFL, and nothing has compared to the rush I get from being in Memorial Stadium. Nebraska is "the good like" state but they are not known for tourism. If you are a sports fan a Cornhuskers game at memorial stadium should be on your bucket list of must does. I recommend strong going to a game at memorial stadium. read more

I married into a Husker family and my husband and I try to attend one Husker game a year. This year it was my Alma Mater- the University of Washington- game. The sea of red interspersed with purple was breathtaking. I was wearing purple and a Husky dog hat and so many people in red came up and chatted with me. An usher at the stadium welcomed me and shook my hand. The fans around us were awesome. I HEART the Cornhusker team and was happy that the game was so much fun. Thank you so much for the awesome gameday experience. Husker fans are wonderful, compassionate, friendly, warm and I appreciate the many who were encouraging and open. It's such a great atmosphere with the perfect combination of history, tradition, & modern amenities. Like the awesome pre-game video. In theory this is a very nice stadium and a great place to take in a college football game. In practice, this IS truly part of the Nebraska experience. I am not a Nebraska native, nor am I even a big college football fan (don't run me out of town just yet), however attending a game in Lincoln is a right of passage. Expect to tailgate with some very respectful and fun fans and enjoy yourself thoroughly before the game (remember your red Solo cup). If tailgating is not your thing, then grab a Runza and take a look around. There are kids activities on the track, you can peak into the weight room and maybe catch a glimpse of a couple Huskers warming up, or take a look at the storied National Title trophies. All in all, there is plenty to keep you occupied before the game. Getting inside is usually pretty easy, and it is a pretty cool feeling be part of the 'sea or red' once the game starts. I've been to a number of games over the years and it is something pretty cool to experience. A must do in Nebraska. read more

The experience I had at Memorial Stadium was fair. Although I am an Iowa Hawkeye fan I will say that the stadium atmosphere is great and can be very intimidating for opposing teams. The reason I have giving this a 2 star rating is because of the bathroom and concession situation. There are only bathrooms and concession stands located on the field level in the stadium and if your tickets are higher up you almost spend the entire game going up and down the stadium to take care of those needs. The other issue I had was that they stick the opposing fans so high up and give no tickets that are located at field level. At our home Stadium we have a section allocated for the opposing team that goes from row 1(field level) all the way up. It doesn't give visiting fans a very good experience. I did have a great time and it is a great college football venue. read more

I have been going here for games since I was a kid and every year the tickets get more expensive and the seats (your allotted space on a hard-ass bench) get smaller. It drives me nuts at how greedy they can be. If you are a season ticket holders, you will invariably get harassed to make ludicrous "donations" just to keep your tickets, despite having been loyal holders for over 50 years. If you don't meet their demands they will take your tickets away! Is that how donations work? And then we have the media scandals surrounding NCAA and how it's not about the money - give me a break! If it's not about the money why do I have to spend more to attend a Nebraska game than the Denver Broncos or Kansas City Chiefs, where players make millions? Where does this money go? It's unbelievable, really. I bleed Husker Red and that's the only reason I continue to come back to this place but I get more annoyed each and every year, it's only a matter of time before I reach my breaking point and say "screw this". read more

Simply put: Lincoln, Nebraska during a Huskers home game is my favorite place in the world. The city is just electric. Wish I could give it 6 stars. If you want to get a real Nebraska experience, it definitely needs to include a home game at Memorial Stadium with 85,000 (soon to be 91,000) of your closest friends. read more
