I work for a child care program and we have to take the kids indoors when it's bad weather. We took…read morethe kids to skate city this time and as soon as we walked in the staff was very rude towards not only the staff but the kids. All of the kids were being very respectful and using their manners like normal but the skate staff couldn't care to give them the time of day. One kid was on the verge of tears after he accidentally spilled his slushy on the rink floor the one girl working basically yelled at him and immediately ran off to tell them a kid purposely spilled his drink on the floor. Most of our staff has been working over 48 hours straight if we are able to handle the kids and continue to be respectful and treat them like real people the staff at skate city can do that for an hour or two. It made me very angry to see people that are supposed to have customers service skills be this rude and disrespectful.

Hockey Headquarters has the best selection, with better prices than Amazon or leading retailers AND their skates have upgraded blades installed. For example, the Jackson Ultima is 329.99 from a leading box store but came with the Mark IV blade. At Hockey Headquarters the same skates, same price, came with the 2x upgraded Aspire blade (sold separately elsewhere for 150.00). Most importantly, the family who owns this store is so supportive, kind, and knowledgeable. They get excited with you, for you, and make excellent recommendations without trying to upsell. Most stores won't even carry entry level products, but this family loves what they do so much, they just want to share ice sports with everyone who walks through that front door. Hockey Headquarters is a real asset to the skating community, down-to-earth (not snobby or judgemental) and the reason why new people are hitting the ice daily!
