I did not want to have to write this review but I think others should be very aware of the "care"…read morethey will receive when visiting the emergency room. I feel I was overcharged for my ER visit (on 5/16/2023) and also had a horrible experience to boot. After Emailing with patient billing (the person I was emailing with was very helpful and nice, had no issues with that side of things.) I questioned the bill I received because it was broken up into so many seperate charges. The two largest bills were nearly identical in amounts and both listed similar descriptions for those charges. My insurance covered part of one but not the other. Upon reaching out I was told that the bills get split into two "hospital (facility charges) and the clinic (doctors charges)". Which makes sense, however with those charges being nearly identical I still questioned it. So I asked for an itemized bill (the ones they Email have a few vague lines of description and the grand total.) Unfortunately I still have yet to get an itemized bill, instead had kind of a copy and paste of what makes up the Hospital and Clinic typical charges for an ER visit. (I do not see how a few pieces of gauze, Iodine and a kit to do 3 stitches can cost nearly $800 but that is neither here nor there and has been deemed a "typical charge") The following is my recount of my visit to the ER that evening. We arrived at 9:30am and did not leave until 2:30am. "After checking in, my fiance and I sat in the waiting room. When we had walked in I was holding a paper towel up to the laceration under my eye as it was still bleeding profusely. I ended up soaking through that paper towel and having to use the rough brown papertowel from the restroom to continue applying pressure. After a 4 hour wait I was brought back to a room. I received numbing and then 3 stitches to a laceration I had under my eye. I am grateful that he did a great job with these stitches and I have healed quickly. The scar is also not very noticeable and I am also grateful for that. The issue I had was after he was done, he did not personally clean up the blood and iodine that had been applied to the area. He casually mentioned a nurse would be in shortly to clean me up and apply an ointment to the area. We waited another 30 minutes in the room (by now 2:30am) and still no one came in. The room began to get very cold (probably from my blood loss too. I was also very hungry as the injury happend right when we were sitting down to eat. The numbing had since worn off and I was again feeling pain from the area, now compounded by receiving the stitches. I was tired, frustrated and in pain. So I took it upon myself to use water from the sink and a brown paper towel to clean myself up (which did not feel great now that the numbing had worn off...) Once I did that I poked my head out of the door to see the doctor and a nurse sitting right there leaned back in their chairs laughing about something. I said "excuse me" and was not noticed. I had to take several steps out of the room and speak loudly to be acknowledged. He apologized and said sorry that no one had come in and they were busy. I told him don't worry about it, I cleaned it myself and I just wanted to leave at that point. He did not offer the ointment or give me an explanation of aftercare of the stitches (even though I told him I had never had non dissolvable stitches before) He only quickly mentioned to have them removed in 5-7 days. I guess I'm also confused as to why he could not have taken the two minutes while I was still numb to clean me up and I would have been able to be on my way 30 minutes faster. (Freeing up another room for the several others waiting in the waiting room). I had such a bad taste in my mouth from my experience I went to our Urgent Care walk in to have the stitches removed instead. The Ladies there are lovely and I have nothing but good things to say about them down there! After this experience was sent to the "Compliance Department" all I received was a letter stating that my charges were valid and where to make payments. Oh well!

The wait time was short and the Nurse Practitioner - Marilou - was absolutely wonderful. She was both to-the-point and comforting, listened to ALL my questions and answered them thoughtfully. Nobody going to urgent care is having a great day to begin with, so it is quite something to walk out feeling as positive and cheered up as I did today. However, I need to emphasize a serious…read moreconcern: despite Rush Hospital in Chicago sending orders for MRI/MRCP testing to be completed here, MDH never contacted me to schedule. Another healthcare provider also attempted to arrange the same testing through Rush, and again MDH did not follow up. This lack of communication has made it difficult to trust medical facilities in Macomb or the surrounding county. Cleanliness is important, but reliability and responsiveness in patient care are equally critical, and unfortunately MDH fell short in this regard.

Contacted the ER to try to obtain medical unencumbered because I have restraining orders against…read moresome of their staff that are registered addicts.. when I instructed them of the severity of the restraining orders and asked how far I needed to drive to get outside of their computer or electronic grass since they have failed to alleviate these women of their positions of power a woman named Barb had me on speaker and was extremely rude. Literally denying me medical when I've been laced with more than one insecticide to obtain access to the controlled B1 substance that my cardiologist thought was best for me. So every time I am in EKG at another hospital I have had issues with their addicts and their interference with counter indicatory medications and I've tried eight hospitals. I was just asking how to obtain my medical when mercy one is the one that attached the restraining orders to my medical records... So enjoy the addiction label and blockade of medical is considered human trafficking....Washington county ER thinks that I should be on oxygen but with a blockade of medical by Brennan Patterson and all of her little friends that are amphetamine L users tell the hospital to cram it up their ass I've asked I've begged and I've pleaded with canceled out telehealth blocked to access to care and more...

I am not originally from Macomb I am a student at Western Illinois University and I had an incident…read moreduring a sporting event where I twisted my ankle. I went into the ER with non-life-threatening injury but it didn't justify the two hour wait time before I ever was seen to get an x-ray. The care was absolutely horrible and I wasn't given any pain was given was an ace bandage and crutches that I requested. I've been returned to my hometown to get x-rayed again because I didn't trust the care I was given to find out that I have two fractures as well as finding out that I and possibly needing surgery. The lack of care at this facility could've caused lifelong damage and with that being said I weren't anyone who may be going to this hospital to receive any kind of care. I find it extremely concerning that I not only had one fracture but and I was told I was just suffering some swelling because I fell.

I've gone here a couple of times for some MRSA infections that I get from time to time. The staff…read morehas always been super nice and thorough in getting me treated right away. I am very thankful to have the walk-in clinic for quick care on routine things, especially in the evenings and on weekends.
