I would caution anyone staying at Melwel Lodge. We stayed there for 1 week and after we left were charged addition fees without consultation, negotiation or agreement. We were told that blankets and towels would be provided; however, we were charged an additional cost for cleaning them. Had we known this, we would have brought our own towels and blankets. We were told that pets were allowed and then were charged additional cleaning costs as well as poop pick-up costs (notwithstanding my belief that all of our pet owners picked up their dog poop). None of the foregoing costs were told to, or agreed to by, us up front. Very underhanded management in my opinion.
Also, the bed count/size on the web page is incorrect, so if you do plan to go there, expect the beds to be smaller than the web page indicates.
Finally, the unit which they profess to be "handicap accessible" only has a ramp - there is no handicap access to the bathroom (and possibly even the bedroom) as the door(s) is(are) too small for a wheelchair to fit through.
My experience at Melwel has left me very disappointed. read more
