It is a family owned business, so I like to support that. They recently switched to an Amoco, but now don't have the lowest prices, nor do they offer same price for cash or credit. I set my standards to a different level when it comes to gas stations, I need to hear Hello, Thank You and Bye at all times. And with today's gas crisis, there are hundreds of stations that would love to take your money. I've walked into places near me that can save me a couple cents on a dollar, but you don't forget the prick behind the counter chomping on his gum, on the phone or whatever else he has to do. Bottom line if I'm heading their way, I will drive on fumes to get there. Because the simple recognition that I received from them has made me a Lifer! I've recommended this place to friends and family's, and sure enough that place is there first choice. They also keep their property clean at all times. No matter how late you go, you feel safe because they are alert of what happens on that lot. Once in awhile they will make sure you get to your car safely. I want to Thank You, from all of your customers, for what you have been doing right to make your gas station successful. Keep up the great work, train the newbies. See you soon!

There are a few Boogs employess at the Holmes Road (near Von's Plaza and Holmes Road Diner) station who have worked for Boggs several years and worked for Red when he owned the large station (it had a garage then) across the street. Just as a single builder-landlord kept rent lower in Ypsilanti, Boggs keeps gasoline lower priced. I suspect he often sells his gas at cost, looking to the little stores for profit. He provides another service. Free air and he keeps his air compressor and hose well maintained. He also keeps the hose in a good location. It's smart business. Boggs has me passing the other stations, even when they are a little cheaper (which is not very often) just because I appreciate the air hose and the polite cashiers.

It was clear that no effort was made to maintain basic cleanliness standards. (I would not try their "soup" for this reason). Also the pumps look very outdated. Gas prices are cheap but not any better than other nearby options. When I was there, a lot of kids were on the sidewalk where you pull in and out. They were going to cross Prospect to get to school. It seems odd that the city allowed a gas station to be built so close to an elementary school. Also the man working was incredibly rude and unhelpful. When I went to pay he barely acknowledged my presence and seemed annoyed to be there.
