Melvina knocked on the door of my house and said she could sell it and get us into a neighborhood that we desired to be in. I was initially skeptical, but she was so confident, gracious, and compelling that we said we'd give it a try. The house we were living in at the time sold quickly, and she was able to negotiate with the buyers to have the sale be contingent on us finding another house. When a house came on the market in the neighborhood we desired, we made a bid and were selected. The problem though was it was a short sale! Thus, we had a four month waiting period. Melvina is a great; these were the words of my daughter when she got to see our new house, we first were discouraged on selling our old house believing that we can't get a better place that beats it, so we planned on renovating. After making the budget, we called on the home planner around to check how accurate our figures were about it, then he referred Melvina to us promising that she will do a better job by getting a new place instead of the cost of renovating. Melvina was a hard worker and she helped us close a difficult short-sale. She worked tirelessly over a period of 9 months to help us navigate the process. In the end we were able to come to an agreement with the two banks that helped us avoid bankruptcy. The only suggestion that I would have is that it is imperative that the seller fill out the lender's short sale paperwork, not the real estate company's short sale paperwork. We had a long gap of time where the bank did not have all of the paperwork they needed and I had to figure this out on my own based on a lengthy delay prior to the deal proceeding.
