I highly recommend Melissa Dano for your real estate needs. We worked with Melissa to sell our home from late July to mid-September 2026. We sold our home and closed escrow in record time (1 month). From the beginning of the sales process, Melissa demonstrated her knowledge of the market, helped us price our home to generate interest in the first 2 weeks of listing, and then navigated us through what can be a complicated home sale process. And she worked hard to accommodate our needs along the way. Melissa is the trusted advisor you need whether you are buying or selling a home. She is friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and a great negotiator. read more

Melissa did any amazing job of helping us first time home buyers with our new home. From countless open houses and home viewings to many escrow visits (all with our little kids running around screaming), Melissa was always willing to help out and be there. She helped us navigate the crazy market that is today and beat our multiple offers while making sure the seller met every one of our many requirements. Always proactive in looking for new homes on the market and engaging the sellers Realtor to view the home before anyone was able to view it. She knew all the steps to go through and questions to ask that we wouldn't even think of. Worked seamlessly with our mortgage broker, inspector, and seller. Would highly recommend. Great job Melissa! read more

My mom was very fortunate to have Melissa Dano represent her as the buyer of a home in Mission Viejo. Presented with a transaction involving relocation from out of state, downsizing, unfavorable market conditions, and all the client emotions that come with those challenges, Melissa handled it all with patience, poise, and professionalism. Her communication throughout the entire process was excellent. She took the time to really understand my mom's needs and offered appropriate and thoughtful suggestions to accommodate them. If you're looking for an experienced agent who will do the thought and work to truly represent you, look no further than Melissa Dano. read more

Melissa was fantastic to work with! I was moving from Texas and anxious to get into my new condo in San Diego. Melissa helped navigate this incredibly tough market and find me an AMAZING condo in the location I wanted. This was my first time buying a home through resale and she helped explain all steps of the process to me and made sure I feel comfortable before moving forward. She even helped me close earlier than we anticipated! I love my new home. Thank you Melissa! 12/10 would recommend Melissa as your So Cal realtor! read more

I could not possibly be happier with the wonderful service that Melissa has provided my family. As a first time home buyer she educated my wife and I on literally every aspect of home buying. She walked us through the entire process but guess what!?! She didn't stop there! Not only did she find us our dream home, but then she put us in touch with every kind of service professional we needed for upgrades and repairs. Fast forward three years. We needed to sell my mother-in-law's home. It was a tricky situation because she had passed and had been living in a retirement community with all sorts of special rules and provisions. Well Melissa knocked it out of the park. She knew everything that needed to be done and just plain handled it! What could have been a very stressful situation became zero stress and a very positive experience. Whether you're buying or selling, nobody is more knowledgeable, professional or just plain nice to work with than Melissa. read more

Being a first time home buyer and purchasing during the pandemic has been quite an experience! So glad to have had Melissa to guide me through the entire process. Melissa is very patient, calm and knowledgeble. As soon as a property hit the market, Melissa notified me and we were viewing the property usually the same day. We looked at many, many properties until we narrowed it down to the neighborhood where I wanted to buy. Melissa always remained positive and supportive. She walked me through every single step of the process. Once in escrow Melissa had me at the property several times and helped me with contacts for repairs needed on the home. I felt like I had a friend through through the entire home purchase experience. I highly recommend Melissa for finding your perfect home. I did! read more

Melissa is truly an outstanding and exceptional agent who created a phenomenal experience of selling our house. Melissa was recommended to us by a friend who shared with her our plans of selling our family house. From the first moment Melissa knocked on our door, we were impressed with her professionalism, knowledge of the real estate market and detailed real estate related statistics of our area. Her expertise became the pillar when it came to the planning, scheduling, organizing and finally establishing the selling price. Every time we spoke, she made us feel like all our needs were her priorities and made the entire selling process seamless. Once we finally moved out, Melissa scheduled a cleaning crew. She identified two excellent staging companies and assisted us in selecting the one who would meet all our needs and have the most competitive quote. She was present at every step while our house was being staged and ensured that selected staging furniture would meet our desired outcome. Once the staging process was completed, a professional photographer hired by Melissa took pictures of our house including a video and aerial views of the entire neighborhood. All of this was done within four days of our final move! The house was listed on Friday afternoon with the first open house the following Saturday and Sunday. In the current challenging economic market, we received multiple offers the very first weekend and ended up finding a perfect buyer. Melissa expertly negotiated an offer higher than we expected. We fully entrusted Melissa with selling of our family home of twenty years. She was there, beside us, every step of the way. She took care of every detail and was fully involved in every step of the selling process, while we were already living hundreds of miles away. We strongly recommend Melissa for all your real estate needs. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Melissa for your hard work, dedication, expert and professional care! read more

We were searching for our first home and stumbled onto Melissa and knew right away that we wanted her to be our agent! Immediately upon meeting she gave us insight into the market and gave us suggestions. Melissa was always quick to respond and was very flexible when we wanted to go to viewings. She was always well prepared with info on the property and comps. Because it was our first time searching for a home, we didn't always know what we wanted, so in turn needed to look at a wide array of homes. Melissa was very willing to show us everything we wanted to see. When we found a place we both really loved and wanted to put an offer on, it already had an accepted offer. However, we came up with a backup offer and put the offer in, just in case the accepted one fell through. Even still, Melissa continued to search for homes for us. Luckily though, the accepted offer fell through and our offer among others was accepted! We believe Melissa created a strong offer for us and was able to stand out from the others :) Throughout escrow, Melissa was very on top of everything. And even though we had a couple obstacles to get through, we felt very aware of what was going on. We absolutely love our home and the area and very thankful Melissa found this one for us and got us through it! She is very patient, listens, and always seemed to have our best interest. Home buying can be a scary and stressful process, so having an agent that knows what they are doing and can explain the process is essential (especially as a first time home buyer). We both highly recommend Melissa !! read more

We really were looking to relocate to Texas in maybe 3 to 5 years. An agent that we met while checking out the Austin area connected us with Melissa locally, and due to her common sense and targeted approach, we ended up listing our house AND moving within six months of our first meeting with her. This was no small task. We had lived in our Laguna Hills home for 27 years, accumulating lots of memories and 'stuff' while we raised two daughters and spent literally years on softball fields. The interior had not really been updated since we moved in with our 1980s era heavy oak furniture, and we really had no desire to spend the money or time needed to update it for a new owner. The other challenge was that we backed the 5 freeway, (which had added a lane in the mid 90s bringing the noise a little closer). Melissa rightly advised us that there was no way to predict the market in 3 to 5 years; but (at the time) inventory was very low, and given the challenge of the freeway and the outdated interior, it would be much easier to sell our house now without upgrading, rather than wait and face stiff competition from move-in ready updated homes. Melissa helped us to focus on things we COULD do - clear out excess furnishings and personal items and tidy up the yard. She had professional photographs taken of our home's most positive features and highlighted those. We accepted an offer in just under 30 days after listing. Melissa knew that there was a specific type of buyer that would love (and want to update) the house and targeted her marketing toward that buyer, having honest conversations with the buyer's agents, rather than hold an open house. She held our hand through all the contracts and made sure the escrow timing went as planned, nudging the buyer's agent along if needed, and kept us from giving in to inappropriate requests. If your house is in pristine condition, any professional realtor can sell it for you, and I'm sure Melissa could get you top dollar. But if your house has some challenges, Melissa is the one you want on your side. read more

Use her! Expert advise and experience. She got us top dollar for the home we lived in for 32 years. Great advise every step of the way. She is also so nice, easy to reach, easy to relate to and always in touch. Very professional. read more

Earlier this summer, I sold my longtime home in Mission Viejo, to move up state in California. As I started looking for suitable agents, I got a call from Melissa out of the blue. She found me. From the very beginning, I liked her proactive nature, and, I could see, she did her homework (in order to find me). After I had a coffee with her, I felt that she would be the right agent for me - proactive, hardworking, detail-oriented, but not pushy. She carefully heard my needs, my opinions, and my resource boundaries, and made some very practical down-to-earth suggestions that, I believe, helped me sell my house at above list, especially when there were several other homes in the area that were competing at the same dollar level. Melissa is honest and direct, but also tactful and deliberate. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her, knowing that she had my best interests at heart. She is knowledgeable about the area, about the other agents, and has a ton of resources (plumbers, electricians, staging companies etc) that she can connect her clients to. She is a great asset to anyone looking to buy or sell a home in Mission Viejo and surrounding areas. read more

I bought my very first home in Mission Viejo from Melissa. It was a great home and my wife was not too happy when I decided to sell it and buy a fixer-upper which was a terrible decision. I went ahead and bought and listed my current home that Melissa had found for us with the listing agent of the fixer-upper home thinking I would save some commissions. Wow did that turn out to be a bad decision. We felt very rushed with the other agent and the new home we bought was an absolute disaster to the point that it almost cost us our marriage. When we finally came to the realization that we needed to reset and restart things we reached out to Melissa and she helped put together and absolutely amazing plan for us. We sold, rented for a year while we made sure to really decide on. I had visions of buying a place and adding an ADU on in the backyard. I can be a bit of a dreamer and impulsive. Melissa very much like my mom will cleverly help me understand the pros and cons and amount of work certain ideas of mine might take. Without getting me upset because I can also have a temper. We found our forever house in Mission Viejo. We absolutely love it. The neighborhood is excellent and everyone that comes to visit says we got the house of the lifetime. We will use Melissa for life and hopefully the next purchase will be our Palm Springs condo. read more

We met Melissa at an open house, and she followed up with a pocket listing a few months later. It was exactly what we were looking for. Melissa was always responsive during the stressful process. She worked hard to allow us see the house multiple times. Although she was very assertive and opinionated (and not afraid to give it to you), it worked for us, in the end. We are happy with our home purchase. read more

Melissa was referred to me by my old neighbor down the street in Laguna Hills, CA. They had recently moved to Georgetown, TX and I had been interested in moving there as well. So I contacted Melissa and several other realtors. In meeting with her for the first time, I knew she was the one for my family and I! Melissa had also previously worked with my realtors on the TX side and that made me feel quite confident in her abilities to understand my family's needs and the cross-country transition. She is timely, objective, and has great knowledge of the surrounding businesses, schools and communities. Best of all, she became a friend along the way!!! I highly recommend Melissa Dano and Remax's services!!!! Thanks Girlfriend!!! read more

First of all, THANK YOU to Melissa Dano for the unconditional support with finding a home for me and my family. She was easy to communicate with, she listened to our wants and she provided direction when we needed it. And she facilitated the purchased of our new home! We enjoyed Melissa's services so much we've asked her to help us sell our condo. These are just a few of the reasons why we gave her 5 stars. read more

My wife and I recently bought our first home and our experience with Melissa could not have been better! As first time buyers, we had a lot to learn and Melissa walked us through every step of the process! During initial showings, she learned what we liked and tailored where we went to fit our style. She didn't waste our time with places that were out of our price range or in areas we weren't interested in. We found a place we loved and she worked so hard to make sure we got it and that we got a fair deal. It felt like she was as invested emotionally as we were. During escrow, she explained every document and made sure there would be no unexpected occurrences at closing. The service she provides is truly above and beyond anything we expected. We would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone searching for a new home. Her kindness, passion, and hard work have left a lasting impression that we won't forget. THANK YOU MELISSA!!!! read more

Melissa Dano was a dream to work with in a nightmare market for buyers. Melissa's patience is bar none and we were not very patient people. Her expertise in this area is outstanding. She only showed us houses that she knew would fit for our family, never wasting our time. We made over 8 offers and each one she was methodical, thorough and supportive in her skills. Melissa only wanted the best for us and would not be shy to tell us when we were getting desperate. We gave Melissa 5 stars because working with her was a 5 star experience. read more
