Really poor customer service and poor quality control on products. They gave me a sample of engineered timber and said the veneer was 3mm. So I measured it and it came to 2.5mm. I called the manager and he flatly denied it was 2.5mm and said I was the problem. Appalling response. He then claimed there was a tolerance of 2.75mm to 3.25mm, which means their engineered floors - which are supposed to be 'finished' and don't require sanding or oil - can have up to 0.5mm difference from one plank to the next. Imagine walking on that floor ... He then changed direction and claimed if there were any issues when laying the floor it was because the client doesn't know what they are doing. Nice. That's the kind of support I want when I hand over $5,000 - $10,000 to a business ... Clearly, they're not up to listening or working through problems with clients, and instead attack or challenge their clients when they draw attention to defects in their product line. Awesome job. The team arrived on time and finished my floors in literally no time, just days after I called to get a quote. Melbourne Floors Mart's prices to refinish my light hardwood to a darker stain was FAR less expensive than the six other professionals I contacted. I got my flooring done by Melbourne Floors Mart after looking at various flooring shops in Melbourne and they surpassed my expectations by a mile. My floors look stunning and they guided me every step of the way through the entire process and everything ran smoothly. I opted to get raw solid timber and when they did the sand and polish, they didn't leave any saw dust anywhere which was a huge plus. This is an utterly deplorable company to deal with. They are unhelpful, dishonest, unresponsive and unethical. They do not pro-actively ask questions about needs. I ordered flooring from them but asked them to measure the apartment and provide a sample. They turn up without a sample. They said they don't remove tiles although I believe I had told them I had tiles beforehand. Given I was moving into a house and the price was reasonable, I went ahead with the order and told them I would arrange my own installer who would remove tiles and carpet and get the job done instead of saying things like "its difficult for us...". Then they refuse to deliver the flooring as I am not using their installer who can't remove tiles. After me complaining, they arrange a delivery guy at my cost. They say he won't carry the flooring in - will leave on the street. I have a heart condition. Fortunately they were wrong - he did take it into the house. My installer does a good job but I have an excess of flooring. I ask for a refund and for it to be collected. They refuse again - say I have to take it to them. I complain - no answer. I text one of their guys. No answer. Fortunately I had a friend who agreed to take the flooring back at no cost,. I alert Floorsmart its coming back - as I had written a negative Google review - they said they would not refund for the excess flooring unless I took down the review! I took down the review - the excess flooring was returned. They then charged me 20% for "restocking fee" - something not mentioned before. I complain - no answer. I e-mail attention to owner (staff won't give me his full name but its Wilson something) - no answer again. Completely awful company - avoid at all costs.
