I never saw the dr, my issue is with the practice. I waited several weeks for an appt. It was not until I arrived that I found I had to sign an arbitration agreement or I could not be seen. Considering lawyers spend many hours crafting these, to hand one to a patient at the last minute, without the benefit of really knowing what it says, is unconscionable. Many patients probably sign it because they are too sick to wait for an appt with another phys, meaning they are pressed into it under duress. Not to mention, many may not even know what it is, or that they are signing away their rights as a consumer. I never sign these unless my atty or one associated with my effort has viewed it. Besides, I am expected to trust the dr to be honest, to approach their work with professionalism and respect, but he does not have to extend to his patients a similar level of trust? Considering this is my health, I feel I have a lot more to lose. Too many good DRs out there for me to not move on, which is what I did.
Got an emergency, do what you have too I suppose. But if you can, avoid the arbitration agreement and find a Dr you can trust without it. read more
