For boarding, they increased their prices from $35 per night to $60 for my dog. Not worth it. No way you can justify a 70% increase. I since found Sarah's Loyal Friends. Very polite staff, great prices for grooming and they are quick to get it done. Their new groomer (hired Oct 2022) is amazing. My toy poodle has incredibly high anxiety when it comes to grooming due to a traumatic grooming experience when he was a puppy and I've had to give him a sedative to get him to get groomed in the past, but have never had to here. I used Megan's for years and never had a complaint. The last 2 times I used this facility, I was very disappointed. First, my dog used to LOVE to go in but now will pull away from entering. Upon picking her up, she is so scared that she is shaking. They keep VERY limited weekend hours now so the dogs get minimal attention. She also smelled of urine the last 2 times she was picked up. All of her toys and her blanket also reeked of urine. The building smells awful when you walk in now. I have since found another place to board my dog. So very sad. read more

I bring my dogs here for boarding for every trip. They always are happy to see the girls there. I like this place because I can get them a small room to share and they are let out and played with all day, everyday that they stay. I have an Australian shepherd so it's very important to me to have her get her energy out while I'm gone on vacation and not stuck in a kennel like they do at vets boarding. We have been using Megan's for several years and have been extremely satisfied every single time. We've used her for both grooming and boarding. We even drive very much out of the way to bring him for boarding (as we moved out of Gonzales) because we know they take such good care of the pets. One of the things we love is that they take the pets out three times daily (at least) during boarding. read more

I had a similar experience as well. My yorkie didn't looked groomed very well when I picked him up. Took him back & asked to have more cut off around his face. Went back to pick him up and he looked awful! Totally botched up. I have never & will never bring my baby back there. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have sent my beloved, rescue dog, Cricket, to Megan's Pet Chateau over 10 times for overnight stays while we were on vacation. We know we have a well-behaved and socialized dog but when in different settings, we can expect our pets to act differently. Megan and Craig and the staff allow Cricket to wander around with them and provide the love and attention she needs to feel ok. We have left her at home, we come back to pooping on the carpet and other destructive "I'm mad at you, mommy" behaviors but she returns from Megan's clean and ready to see us. At Megan's, she runs inside and behind the counter, as if she is in charge there. We love to know that we can leave her in a place that is happy, safe and allows her to be free to enjoy her time. We often ask for a grooming when she is about to be picked up and Megan or Craig always seem to fit her in. We have a mid-sized "hybrid" dog so she doesn't need a lot of clipping but more important than accuracy of her cut, we know she is loved, cared for and clean when she is returned. read more

I would not recommend this place at all I went here a couple of days ago it was the absolute worse experience ever. I have them three dogs to groom two bichon and a toy poodle I don't think the even groomed the poodle and the bichons were not dry and they were butched and this was after I had gone in and asked them if they had done bichons and was told yes I was also told that they would be groomed by the owner Megan well they were not so when they came out they were still wet not fluffy and the poodles tail was wet they said he peed on himself well then they should have washed that area up and he don't pee on himself unless he is scared so when I asked them to go back and brush and dry my too dogs they went back for 5 min and came out and said so how is this I said well they r still wet the guy asked me if I wanted a discount so I could go somewhere else!! What type if business does that? So out of 80 bucks I got 20 back so I'm out 60 and have to someone else another 80 to do the job right. Well as I get down the road a little I start to get mad so I call back to really let them know how I feel the man tells me well I feel we did a good job I told him if he did a good job them I would be happy then the mother of Megan gets on the phone and starts yelling and telling how I'm a difficult customer she actually takes down to groomers that I have had before bc I lived in to diff areas and states then tells me to get my ass back over there to get the rest of my money back then on top of that my dogs have rubber caps on their nails so they don't scratch ppl I said u have to clip them a little them they peel right off no they clipped the nail and left some of the cap on they r lucky they didn't hit the vain bc u can't see elsewhere the end of the vain is with those things on they r rude ppl they don't groom good and I don't think they r nice to the dogs bc the toy poodle had a seizure later on that day as well so do not go there to get ur dogs groomed I didn't want to give any stars but u have to read more

Great owner! They are so friendly and caring. My dogs love staying there and often times their accommodations are upgraded for free.

I leave my dog here whenever I go out of town, it's the only place I've ever left him where he doesn't seem that excited to come home, so I know he has a good time. The owner has veterinary experience as well, which makes me feel safe. I've never used the grooming aspect, but I wouldn't not choose to use them based on the nutty reviews of a couple high maintenance toy breed owners....just saying, the one with the bichon nails sounds sort of hysterical... read more
