Kleinpeter Veterinary Hospital

Kleinpeter Veterinary Hospital

I have never loved a vet clinic more! Dr.Kleinpeter is the most gentle, caring, and helpful vet…read moreI've ever come in contact with. The other woman vet was very helpful as well in my previous experience. To give a little insight both of my cats had interesting care needs: one had bladder stones and needed to be put on the diet to help with that and my other has allergies which an antihistamine helped clear that up... I have experience more than five other vet clinics in the past year with both of my cats where they were not treated for the root cause rather than just treating their symptoms... Needless to say, I am so grateful I found this vet because now I am saving myself my cats and my bank account from a lot of trouble. You can fully trust that your pets will get the best care here! Thank you guys a million times!!!

Absolutely love this vet practice. Upfront I'll admit haven't entered the building myself. My mom…read morebrought my two daughters and our family female dwarf hamster (Bailey) when I was at work. Taking Bailey here when we did truly saved her life. We are new hamster owners and didn't know what was happening. She had wet tail, and Dr. Kleinpeter told us (not the kids so as not to worry/scare them) that Bailey had a 50% chance of surviving. They have her fluids at the appointment, and we were able to give her liquid antibiotics for the next week. It's been months now, and she's tripled her weight (she was essentially evacuated when we brought her in) and is fully recovered. Since then, my mom started bringing her new golden retriever puppy and could not be happier with the service provided by Dr. Kleinpeter. Her puppy will need an eye surgery at 6 months, and Dr. Kleinpeter is very knowledgeable on this eye condition and answered my mom's questions before my mom's puppy was even officially a patient. Dr. Kleinpeter truly cares and puts animals' well-being first. Recently, I had to call regarding a concern with Bailey's eye, and the advice they gave over the phone (on a Friday night) was so helpful. We didn't even need to bring her in as what they told us to do was exactly what she needed. Nice to know they have emergency availability here as well as scheduled appointments, surgeries, and boarding. They're a specialty veterinary practice that we were extremely happy to find for our little hamster. I highly recommend and will be back!

I used Cajun Canine for boarding purposes, not grooming. But the condition of their back room where…read morethey have the kennels is disgusting. I worked at Ashland Jail and the inmates have better living conditions than the dog cages they have back there. The entire back area of that place looks dirty. And speaking of dirt, when I picked my dog up he had some dirt on him and he smelled like urine and feces. He was peeking over the jail-cell like blinds on his kennel door, and I could tell he was shaking in fear. The room had no outside view, no TV, no radio, and was cold. Most boarding places I've used will give him a bath, trim his nails, and put a cute bandana on him. None of that is true with Cajun Canine. I kind of believe they just tossed him in the cage and forgot about him. He ate like a wild beast when I finally got him home, and he downed almost 4 cups of water. That's also unlike him. They also tried to rush me to pick him up because they have really weird hours. I was in Lafayette when I got a call asking me to pick him up at 1pm instead of the agreed upon 4pm because they had a bunch of cancellations today. I was trying to work with the woman and we ended up agreeing to 3pm. Which means we had to cut our plans short. Well Lafayette traffic is insane and I ended up being 30 minutes late. I was in Gibson at 3pm when the girl called and said she was there waiting for me and wasn't going to be there much longer. Her reason was that she had plans and she was very adamant in saying she wasn't going to be there much longer. So what am I supposed to do? Pay for another night because your day was slow? You have a business and it provides a service. I paid for that service and I expect you to render it. You having personal plans is none of my concern and it shouldn't affect anything. Finally, she mentioned that she doesn't think he'd be accepted back there anymore because he was too scared and didn't want to interact with anyone. Which is really unlike my dog because he loves everyone and is a playful, happy, and social puppy. That was just her way of trying to get back at me for ruining her Thursday night plans by 30 minutes. Heaven forbid. But... you know the saying. If my dog doesn't like you - neither do I. One star.
