My dog hates the vet so I wanted a less stress experience for her. Dr Medrano was sooooo kind and understanding about my dog's anxiousness and fears. Absolutely lovely vet who made sure I had no questions and only wanted the best for my dog. All the vet techs that work with her- Eva and Corene - were so helpful and so kind. Really excited to have a mobile vet for my dog and hoping for more positive interactions. read more

They were so great with Cali our 16 year old cat. Gentle, kind and non judgmental of the fact she hadn't seen a vet in 14 years. Great job drawing blood with very little trauma for Cali or us! read more

Dr. Medrano cared for our two beloved cats, Squeak and Loca, from the time they moved to Oakland, through the pandemic, until their end of life at age 20-ish last September 2025 and Nov 2025. I could NOT be more grateful to Dr. Marcia for the EXCEPTIONAL care & compassion she provided throughout their lives. Her care and compassion also extended to my husband and I in trying to decide whether it was "time" or not, providing hospice and palliative care during their last few weeks, and all the happier times that came before. Whatever my shortcomings as a pet parent (not playing the extra five minutes, leaving the litter box a few extra days...) I'm beyond confident that they always had the best care possible and there's nothing more I could have done for their health & wellness. Thank you, Dr. Medrano. read more

Dr. Medrano and her assistant Jazzmynne came to my home and were very warm, gentle and kind to my 9-year-old shy cat. They did a urine analysis and drew blood (great job no trauma for kitty) and did a nail trim and overall checkup. My kitty was calm about the whole thing which I attribute to their gentle energy. So glad I chose Medrano Vets! read more

Medrano Vets - A happy kitty. - Veterinarians Near Me

Dr. Medrano and Jazmynne were terrific! I have a cat with fairly advanced heart disease who needed a nail trim but becomes scared, defensive and very unhappy at the vet. I did not want to stress him out, so wanted to try a home vet. I had warned Dr. Medrano and Jazmynne about my cat - but he was was super calm and content due largely to their warm, caring, and personable approach. I googled and looked up several mobile vets and Medrano Vets stood out for its very high AND consistent ratings. And they lived up to it. Their follow up was great too - many excellent ideas for how to best keep him happy and unstressed going forward while getting him the care he needs. Highly recommend!! read more

Dr. Medrano and her team are the best! Our dog is shy and scared around strangers, but the MedranoVets team is great with handling him. They are also very responsive to any concerns or questions that we ask via email. Highly recommend! read more

They were so attentive and thorough. The home visit was just what our kitty needed. So much easier on everyone.

Our 7 year old terrier mix has become increasingly high stressed during veterinary visits the past few years, to the point where multiple visits and increasing sedative doses were becoming necessary just to get basic yearly exams and vaccines. We decided to try something different in hopes of greatly reducing our pup's stress and anxiety so that she can receive her health care. Another dog lover suggested we try a mobile vet. We called Dr. Medrano and were able to book an appointment within 2 weeks, which was a relief for us because our pup was behind on some important vaccines and her physical. Everything went super smoothly and compassionately. Dr. Medrano and her assistant Corene were generous with their time and care, and also provided very prompt, thorough and clear communication. We look forward to continuing the quality of healthcare our pup received. Thank you Dr. Medrano and Corene read more

Very informative and knowledgeable. Answered my questions next day and they clearly did some good research into it too.

Another stress-free annual check up. Our pooch used to get super anxious when we'd pull up at the vet's office, but not anymore! Thank you Dr. Medrano! read more

Dr. Medrano has been our family vet for the past 10 years and has been amazing to our fur kids. She has seen our two cats and our dog grow up since they were young. She and Corene always arrive promptly and give great care and recommendations. They are both especially patient and calm with our pets at each visit. Our cats aren't a fan of going out to the vet so having the vet come to our home makes it so much more comfortable for them. read more

Dr. Medrano really came through for us during these crazy COVID times. My very senior dog (16.5) was having mobility issues and we weren't sure whether it was "time" yet. Our long-time vet wouldn't let us in the exam room, but I didn't feel comfortable with that because our pup needs assistance walking and standing, especially on slick floors. We met Dr. Medrano outside of our house where we could assist our old girl. Dr. Medrano really put our minds at ease. She gave us some suggestions to help Roxanne adjust to her back leg paralysis. We took her advice and Roxanne is doing so much better! She is thriving in her wheelchair and with the new medicine. Thanks again! read more

I used Dr Medrano today and couldn't be happier. Both of my cats simply wouldn't go into their carriers for required vaccinations at my regular vet. Both the Dr and Jazmenne couldn't have been nicer and very helpful dealing my bad boys. The exam was quick but complete. The records came through quickly and I was able to finally book reservations for boarding. read more

Dr Medrano and her team take such exceptional care of our pets. We often lean towards home visits for our dog (6yr old goobery German shepherd) and cat (15yr old cranky monster) and Dr Medrano comes and takes excellent care of them and their health, as well as sharing with us so much knowledge and advice for any of our pets concerns. She is so kind and warm as well that even our cranky cat totally accepts her care! Would highly recommend :) read more

Dr. Medrano is the best vet I could have dreamt of for our new puppy, Deuce! Given the pandemic and most vets' policies to not allow humans to accompany their pets, I pursued Dr. Medrano's services so that I could be by Deuce's side during what can be a scary experience for little pups. Having Dr. Medrano come over and conduct Deuce's checkups from the back of her SUV outdoors felt so safe (COVID and otherwise), comforting, and convenient. She answered my dozens of questions with the perfect balance of professional advice and empowering her human clients to make certain calls for their pets. Not too prescriptive, but very helpful and thorough! I already knew we loved seeing Dr. Medrano, but the real difference wasn't evident until we had to rush Deuce to a different animal hospital for some emergency x-rays. Despite having an appointment, I was forced to wait outside at the other place for over 50 minutes with Deuce in my arms (too young to set down due to vaccinations), was then separated from Deuce, with no access to a restroom or even chairs! I got chatting with another fur mama who was there for more routine pet care (puppy shots and wellness check). When I asked about pricing at this other vet hospital for this routine puppy care, I was SHOCKED to find out it was about the same price as what I paid for Dr. Medrano's puppy visits! And yet the experience is absolutely, without a doubt, 1000x better with Dr. Medrano. If in any sort of doubt, please have her over to see your pet! There's no one I trust more with my puppy. read more

Okay, so first of all why such a low number of stars for this place that seems to have stellar reviews. Let me explain.  I read all the outstanding reviews for this business and so I sent an email as specified on their website outlining the situation with my dog. The gist of my email was that my 13 year old dog, an intact female, seemed to be attending to her self-cleaning a little more often than normal. I mentioned that she otherwise seemed fine no other issues.  I also mentioned I had my cat of 14 years die a little more than a month ago and that this behavior in my dog started about the same time my elderly cat had passed away.  The two were always inseparable and the best of friends my cat and dog. The only reason I mentioned the death of my other pet (cat of 14 years) was that I wanted to emphasize I wasn't sure if I was looking at an emotional issue or a physical one. One certainly can understand when you lose another beloved pet of many years, you find yourself a little extra cautious with your remaining pet. You'll understand in a minute why I mentioned the circumstance. So I gave them my contact information and address and told them when I was available and that I would like to set up a mobile visit to my home in San Francisco. About a day later, I received an email reply saying that they were NO LONGER ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS at all.  Yet, seemingly to their credit, they sent me a PDF of other mobile veterinary services. It is with the PDF I had significant issue. When I read the PDF it was largely a collection of mobile doctors that would only come to your home to perform euthanasia.  When you've recently lost another pet to old age and you have another older pet that otherwise seems to be doing fine, the last bit of information you want to be given are mobile services to have your pet euthanized.:( Now I presume it was an unintended fault on their part; BUT to give someone who had recently lost another pet and had only a mild concern about the well-being of their current pet - a veterinary list of veterinarians that would only come to your house to put your pet to death it's the last thing you should send the potential client. Again, I presume they didn't even look at the PDF and consider how it may be received based on the circumstances of the client with their previous pet and current pet.  Yet, to me it would seem to point to a lack of attention to critical detail which is the last quality you would want to have in any event that took care of one of your animals. Perhaps those that are current clients that can get service from this vet are very pleased with their service; however I can only evaluate based on this first impression they gave me which was that they clearly didn't listen to the client they provided information that was not even pertinent to the client and could create needless worry for the client about their pet. Anyway my two cents. If they miss out on details like this what sort of details in the care of your pet do they miss out on? I don't know I was not impressed by the communication and the lack of sensitivity of the type of information they offered. YMMV apparently..... but I was not left impressed. read more

My puppy Ricky had a wonderful visit with Dr. Medrano. She came to my house and did a COVID safe visit outside. She had a complete, compact kit full of everything for the visit. Dr. Medrano is kind, calm, and thorough. All the things you would want in a veterinarian who cares for your fur baby. Our sweet dog has been in her care for almost two years now ever since she was a puppy. We have been very happy with her attention to detail and experience while tending to the medical needs of our dog. Her staff is quick to respond and provide good advice and great communication via email and text. dr. medrano is very kind & caring. with covid, almost all vet places aren't allowing humans into the exam room with their pets, so i searched high & low for a good place where i could be there with my new baby kitten. luckily, i found dr. medrano & on top of that, she does home visits! we have the visits in the setup of her van & she's always trying to make Kitten as comfy & happy as possible. she is also very sweet & responsive to any questions i have after the visit (which is usually hard to get at regular vet hospitals). you can tell she really cares about your baby. although pricing may at first appear higher than a pet hospital, the exam actually includes regular vaccinations/boosters so the slight surcharge remaining makes it really worth seeing her (as well as alleviating the stress of a hospital trip on your baby)! thank you, dr. medrano ~ Kitten & i can't wait to see you again! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Medrano and her vetinary services. I have been using Dr. medrano since I got my little (not so little anymore) golden retriever puppy 5 months ago. She is now nearly 8 months old! My little pup has dealt with many of the common puppy illnesses in the city including recurring bouts of gihardia, an eye infection, and possibly a mild case of the canine flu / kennel cough. Through it all, Dr. medrano has been such a fantastic resource, with such wonderful service! Having a vet that comes and does house visits is very convenient and was a blessing especially right after just bringing my little pup home. It allowed her to not be scared by suddenly being introduced into another new environment at such a young age. Dr. Medrano is always extremely helpful, kind, and caring. She gets along so well with my Rae and is very gentle with her care. I would recommend her services to any and every pet owner in the area. read more

I just want to say I love Dr. Medrano and Corene! They are so wonderful with our dog Bodhi. They are patient and kind and Bodhi never feels any pain! I love that they come to your house so there's no wait time. They are always on time and very professional! She also gives you a report of what was done at the vet appointment via email the day after she sees your pet! To schedule an appt, just email the link on their page. They may take a while to respond but that's only because they're so popular! But it's definitely worth it! read more

I was having trouble finding a good vet near me. Everyone had some horrible stories in their reviews mixed with good ones, hard to trust. This review is long overdue. MedranoVets has been helping Turtle the Cat stay healthy since the *day* we arrived in San Francisco in 2014. Turtle had some hard times during our move from GA and Dr. Marcia and Megan went above and beyond to make sure she was well cared and also provided amazingly compassionate follow up care. The past few years, having a vet come to the house has relieved so much stress for Turtle and allowed Dr. Marcia to get a much more accurate reading of Turtle's personality, health, and well-being. 10/10, best decision ever, will continue using MedranoVets for all of my pet health needs. read more

Dr. Marcia and Megan are wonderful! They have been our dog's one and only vet since we welcomed him home at 9 weeks. Dr. Medrano is both gentle and quick with her exam and vaccines, making vet visits more of a social visit for our dog. Not to mention they come to our house, so its a comfortable visit for all of us. Megan is very warm and loving to our dog, it's clear she is passionate about animals. Dr. Medrano is always patient with my long list of questions and never judgmental or dismissive. She is very knowledgeable and her recommendations seem to be based on latest research and vet standards. Both she and Megan answer emails and make scheduling very easy. Dr. Medrano has also saved us (via email) on a couple of occasions when we had urgent dog GI issues come up while we were traveling. Another perk- they also have an online animal pharmacy where we order flea and heartworm prevention meds, and other dog supplies. Plus I find its usually at a lower cost than other online retailers. I'm sure our pup would agree with us and highly recommend Dr. Medrano. We are lucky to have found her and Megan. An easy 5 stars for these two!! read more

Dr. Marcia and Megan are beyond wonderful and I am so happy that I found them through Yelp. Not only are they true professionals, but they TRULY care about their patients and their patients' parents :) They are so convenient and happily come to your homes for your pets' appointments fully prepared (and will even hand deliver medicines!). They are so kind and sweet with my dogter that I was a little nervous Subi was ready to go home with them! ;) But that's just so telling of the kind of people they are. As a new puppy mama, I am still learning the ropes of this new role and have sent approximately 1-2 million emails to them with questions, concerns, requests for recommendations and a last minute doctor's appointment request on a weekend when my pup was sick. Dr. Marcia is always so quick to respond and happy to schedule an appointment like yesterday to make sure my pup could get better ASAP. She takes her time during her appointments and in crafting her thorough responses and follow up emails. I feel the warmth and concern in every interaction with her and Megan. I am so grateful to know them and have them as part of our little family :) read more

I must say that it's nice to have a Veterinarian that can come to your house, is easily accessible, attentive and friendly. I'm not sure that sums up everything that Dr. Marcia and Megan are. I'm pretty busy and my work hours are so off that it's hard to schedule a time when I can go to a Vet outside. Even then, if I do have a day off.....I'm scheduling around the clinic hours and it's always hit or miss for me so this home vet service definitely works for me. Scheduling was super easy...I sent an email and heard back the next day. Dr. Marcia and Megan were on time and so friendly. Of course, my dog Tuna was completely terrified of them. They greeted Tuna and my other dog, Posey - who wasn't even being seen that day- with treats, super plus points for my doggies!!! She got her vaccines up to date, a wellness exam and a check up on this itchy skin issue she's been having. Dr. Marcia makes an effort to follow up after the visit, answers all your questions and is very attentive. This is something that I do not get from an outside Vet which definitely helps ease my own anxiety. Fast forward to a few months later..... my other dog Posey & sister's dog Poppy was also seen and examined by Dr. Marcia and Megan. Again, a very positive experience. They make every effort to ensure the examination is not stressful and also are available by email if you still had questions after the visit. The home vet visits was definitely well worth my money and my time. No waiting, no driving, no finding parking and no vet waiting room anxiety for my dogs! Thank you Dr. Marcia and Megan for delivering such an awesome service! Tuna, Poppy and Posey waves their paws to say hello and thank you for being nice people! Til next time..... read more

I really can't say enough how much I appreciated the treatment they gave our kitties. I have a 10+ year feral Siamese named Professor. When I found her she had a myriad of health problems. We took her to the VCA hospital in the mission. Although we initially liked the care Professor received, it seemed the longer we kept taking her there, the greater the quality diminished. Professor was not getting any better, so my girlfriend took matters into her own hands and did a tremendous amount of research on our kitty's health issues, and I can say with full confidence that Professor probably would have died if that extra step hadn't been taken. Fast forward 6 months, some of Professors symptoms seemed to have come back. We chose Medranovets after seeing their high yelp ratings, combined with the convenience of their home visits. Every part of the process was a delight. From scheduling the appointment, to the actual visit, I could tell that they genuinely cared for Professor and actually enjoyed what they do for a living. They even took a look at my other kitties without any additional charge. The difference in quality of care between Medranovets and the rest is not even comparable. As long as I live in SF they will always be my first choice. read more
