My wife and I wrestled with the idea of doing our own music using an iPod or an online music service for our wedding reception. We wanted to try and cut costs and we thought doing a reception without a DJ would be a great way to do it. We then thought about it some more and realized it would be too much for us to try and organize 6 - 7 hours of music on our own. That's where Medleys in Motion came in. MiM was the first vendor listed in our suggested vendor list of DJs from our venue so we decided to give him a call. Greg was extremely professional every time we spoke to him and stuck to our preferences in music. Even though we didn't have time to come and see him play at a live venue we felt very confident that we had made the right choice. We were right. When people say that their dance floors were packed the entire night it's definitely not a lie, Greg had people of all ages out on the dance floor the ENTIRE night. Even my grandparents in their mid-nineties were out dancing the night away, which was absolutely fantastic! My new wife and I were out on the dance floor for the majority of the night as well. Medleys in Motion really does listen when you have a special request. We asked my now brother-in-law to write and play a song for our first dance, Greg had no problems setting things up and getting him playing live acoustic-electric guitar and two vocal mics for him and his wife to sing. Greg also has you put together a do not play list which is strictly adhered to. MiM also has the ability to allow a videographer to tap into a mic for best man/maid of honor speeches, which is really nice! I used Greg at MIM for my wedding and it was an absolute BLAST!!! Greg is an outstanding DJ and he was great with the intro's and was great with making sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. The best part though, was that he kept the wedding flowing seamlessly. My wedding consisted of people from ages 12-80 and every person's comment to me after the wedding, was they loved how the music was mixed to keep every single person on the dance floor. From new songs to oldie's, it was a BLAST! Everybody was dancing all night long. In terms of price: He was one of the lowest priced DJ's we talked to, and it was worth every penny that we paid. Also, he brings a partner along with him to make sure everything is smooth and he isn't overwhelmed at any time. Definitely worth the value! After using his services, I honestly would have been ok with paying more! Communication: Greg was lightening fast on responses. He always got back to me within 30 minutes (many times within 5 minutes), which is way faster than any other vendor we were in contact with through our wedding planning. Everything was straight forward, and the costs were all lined up clearly. There is one negative review on here slamming Greg for his communication, and I had the total opposite experience with him. It looks like everybody else did too. Very positive experience dealing with Greg and MIM. I would 100% recommend Greg and MIM for any occasion and I hope i get to see him at another wedding soon! I hired Greg with Melodies in Motion for my Wedding on 9/28/2012. I've been friends with Greg on Facebook for quite a while, we graduated from the same high school but there is a 4yr difference so I didn't really know him. He was most famously known for being the kid who lived on a farm. But I would read all of his posts of the different events he was DJing at and they sounded like so much fun, I said if I ever get engaged, I got to have him DJ my wedding! Turned out, I did get engaged and the day I set my wedding date was the day I Facebook messaged Greg. He was the first person I contacted because I wanted to book him before someone else did. I had one of those good gut feelings and I took a chance on a DJ that all I knew of him was posts I read on Facebook. My husband was a bit mad I didn't "shop around." But I didn't care. Now to my review: I've been to lots and lots of weddings and by far, one of the best DJ's! Greg and his associate were super professional, easy to work with and made the night so fun! The dance floor was packed the whole night - from my husband's 94 year old grandpa to my 7 year old niece, he played music for all ages to enjoy! We got tons of compliments throughout the night and even after the wedding - someone told us they didn't know we had a photo booth set up because they were too busy dancing! We asked for the dance floor to be packed and they delivered. Not only that - DJ Greg made the day feel so special. I am so pleased that we were able to have Medleys in Motion in our wedding that after our honeymoon this was the first thing I've done. First thing I will point out is that Greg's communication prior to the wedding was spot on. If you call him he is there, if you email him he is attentive. His paperwork is easy and his pricing was more than worth it. I love to dance and at our wedding we wanted to make sure our guests were dancing and having fun. We heard about Medleys in Motion from friends. When we contacted Greg - he actually asked us to come see him perform which was great to experience prior to the big day. We went to see Greg DJ and after an hour we asked him to be a part of our wedding. Greg acted as MC and DJ all night. Greg has the voice of a true DJ. Have one conversation with the guy and you will see what I'm saying. We didn't want Greg to play old "traditional" wedding staples like the chicken dance and the electric slide (I hate it). People asked but Greg was great with them and stood our ground - he was our teammate. As the Bride and Groom If we walked up to Greg and asked for a song - it was the next song played. The absolute BEST! We had MIM at our September wedding and it may have been the best decision of the whole wedding. The dance floor was packed all night and I still have people raving about the music. My husband and I love to dance so music was a huge factor for us. Greg really listened to all of our wants/needs relating to the music. We did kind of a fun/unique wedding intro and Greg did an awesome job introducing everyone. He has the best "radio" voice! The music was one detail of the wedding that was completely stress free. We had seen MIM in action at an event earlier in the summer so we knew they were great! They were also very professional to work with. Unlike many other wedding vendors I encountered. Greg and I chatted a few days before the wedding about some of the final details (he totally calmed my nerves about OTHER wedding details that were stressing me out, it was really sweet and much appreciated). I had given him a detailed timeline for the nights events and he really stuck to it and even helped facilitate some things that should have been handled by the banquet staff (i.e. cake cutting). Greg with Medleys in Motion is AWESOME!!! My husband and I had our dream wedding at Geneva National this past weekend (April 19th, 2014), and Greg absolutely nailed it! He was on the preferred vendors list at our venue (the venue coordinator raved about him), so we knew we were in good hands from the start. We hired him for both the ceremony and reception, and he and his assistant Kelly didn't miss a beat! The dance floor was on fire all night! They played all of our favorite songs that we had discussed ahead of time, but made sure to play them when my husband and I were on the dance floor! They also accommodated any request of our guests right away (unless it was on the "do not play" list of course!). Also, it was nice to see that Greg and Kelly seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves throughout the night. Only one word that describes the job that Medleys in Motion did: Perfect. First off, Greg has got the perfect "radio voice" to do the introductions and announcements. All you have to do is hear him speak and you'll instantly say "you should be on the radio." That's what initially sparked my interest in having dee-jay our wedding. As for the dinner music, he played music that was very fitting. In fact, some of our older guests applauded Greg in his selection. And during the dancing portion of the night, NORMALLY you see the dance floor semi-full and people sitting and watching. Not on this night! This is the fullest I've seen a dance floor at a wedding... Greg was simply wonderful. We had our wedding date set and contacted him for that day. It is a good thing we got a hold of him when we did because our date was the only one he had open for that month! Greg and his staff are fantastic. He is easy to get in contact with, and willing to do anything to make your event perfect. Then comes the event itself. They go above and beyond to make sure everything goes perfectly. They did our wedding in May everything was done 1st class. He played the best mix of music that appealed to all ages and he was so relaxed, friendly, open-minded, and extremely easy to work with. We had Medleys in motion for our daughters wedding in October of 2012. Now this was our last wedding of four and if we have thought to have them at our previous weddings we would have booked MIM. Greg was very thorough in planning and execution. His music was very good and varied. You can tell a great DJ by how long the party lasts and this one lasted a long time. You can tell he has done this for a while, but his enthusiasm was great.
