After years of donating to the Red Cross Whenever there was a disaster I finally had to call them…read morefor help when I was evacuated from my home due to the fires in Monterey County. I was shocked to find that they offered no help at all and only instructed that I go to the county evacuation shelter. No other offers of help no hotel voucher not for food or even a bottle of water I feel taken for giving them any kind of donation over the years and my mother donated to them as well. What a rip off. I have a compromised immune system and going to a shelter could expose me possibly to the Coronavirus. I'm really shocked at the complete lack of help or compassion I found when calling the Red Cross. Seems to be just another scam soliciting donations when there is a crisis and yet not providing help to those who are affected by the crisis. Donate your money elsewhere!
