NOTE: This should have been posted around the winter 2020. Each morning I went, the staff were very patient, nice, and helpful. They were properly masked and used hand sanitizer when needed. Sheri (apologies for the incorrect spelling) was professional, organized, and very helpful answering the numerous questions I asked her. Actually, all the employees I interacted with in person or over the phone (video calls) were very pleasant and helpful with everything I asked. I like that a staff member calls the client on their phone when it is their turn to be seen so no one needs to stand around waiting to hear their name which also helps limit how many people are in the area. I've had three visits to this location and each one was worse than the last. My most recent experience left me feeling humiliated and completely disregarded as a patient. I came in highly concerned about a possible health issue and was already in a heightened state of anxiety due to a diagnosed anxiety disorder. I made this clear when I called, explaining I needed to drop off lab samples and speak to someone. Instead of compassion, I was met with sarcasm and hostility. The LabCorp front desk staff were cold, rude, and dismissive. One mocked me aloud for not using the kiosk fast enough, and the other gave conflicting reasons for not accepting my samples -- none of which I had been warned about in advance. At urgent care, the front desk woman literally laughed when I described my symptoms. She initially agreed to help, then backed out, and handed me the wrong paperwork entirely. I eventually spoke with a manager who instructed staff to accept the samples, but they still refused, citing the paperwork being "crumpled" -- without even reading it. This was the most unprofessional medical experience I've ever had. The lack of empathy, coordination, and basic competence is shocking. I left feeling worse than when I arrived. The absolute worst customer service. I couldn't get referrals or information needed to my surgeon or my Physical therapy. The surgery center and my surgeon's office were both disgruntled. They are disgraceful and almost cost me my surgery time. I had to physically go in to Germantown only to be told they sent the referrals when it was never done nor the pre surgical visit. It was 24 hours before surgery when all if a sudden Dr Takhar states I need a cardiologist clearance. Luckily a cardiologist took me that day and APOLOGIZED on behalf of the medical community by the neglect of Dr Takhar and her extremely rude and incompetent staff. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Worst place you can go to if you're really sick or with ongoing symptoms. I had to wait 5-7 days for a physician to call me back about urinalysis and bloodwork results with ongoing painful and uncomfortable symptoms, I had to take myself to the ER. It was pathetic. Never going back there again because the only thing they care about is collecting a payment first before they go to see you and won't even bother doing payment installments if you can't afford to pay on the same day. read more

I appreciate that this location is open for walk in's who wish to get the rapid covid-19 test. My heart goes out to every single employee who more than likely has to come into contact with covid positive people (while the rest of us are trying our best to avoid this). These employees also probably do not even get a break for lunch or a second to rest due to the high volume traffic. Here's my experience and the reasoning behind my 4 stars versus 5 stars. I was recommended this clinic by 2 out of the 4 local urgent cares I had contacted after finding out I had a coworker who tested positive for covid-19. Obviously my mind began racing knowing I had been around my 70 year old mother who is not only in great health but also has been dealing with the passing of my dad (her hubs) less than a year ago. I want to keep her safe by all means necessary. I headed to the location and upon arrival I could soon understand what they meant by "don't call, just go" lol. I could see lots of people sitting in their cars, lots of people walking to the entrance and lots of people in line. I would be lying if my immediate thought wasn't "wow this must be the real apocalypse". I was a little nervous walking up because there's no real direction rather it seems like you just follow the people lol The line wasn't too long and it moved fast. The first step was to stand in line to get a clipboard. They ask for your ID and insurance card, hand you the clipboard and ask you to return back to your vehicle to fill out the forms. People never seize to amaze me even during a global pandemic. I noticed there was quite a few people hanging around outside just talking amongst each other and as I was heading back to my car to fill out the forms, one of the nurses/receptionists came outside to say loudly "PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR VEHICLES. DO NOT SIT/STAND AROUND IN CROWDS." I quickly filled out the forms and returned to the nurse at the door. She said we'll call you when it's time to come inside. Whilst grabbing the clipboard she did tell me it would be about a 2 hour wait so I was prepared lol. I didn't mind though as I was just happy and grateful I could quickly get a test. 2 hours literally to the minute and I received a call asking me to come inside. They allow 2 or 3 people in to the designated social distancing spots (I don't think they were 6 feet but that's fine). It really was like a factory. I stood in line and within seconds was summoned to come behind a separator. My temperature was taken and they tried to take my PulseOx but when it didn't immediately read, it was removed. I thought to myself "interesting" they don't really seem concerned with your vitals so why even go through the motion. This is where I have to reduce a star. I understand completely it is utter chaos and we are all beyond stressed so sometimes it's hard to be kind especially when in a situation like this. However, the nurse/women who took my swab was pretty unkind to me. How am I supposed to know what the heck I'm supposed to do? This is not the norm nor is it my profession, you know? I unfortunately had to get a test a couple months ago after being in the hospital so I was under the impression it would be the same procedure (i.e blow your nose & 5 seconds of swabbing in both nostrils). I asked her politely, do you need me to blow my nose? She responded "just drop your mask it's a nasal swab". Okay?? Lol I dropped my mask and up she went in and out. She wasn't in either nostril 5 seconds but perhaps 2 seconds total for both. Fine, if that works, love it! I was going to ask her if I could use the restroom and as I started "may I.." she cut me off and said your done and pointed to the door. So there's that. I was also a little confused when I saw she put the swab back into the paper holder it came out of. Shouldn't this go into a sterile tube or something? I don't know. Again, I do understand but unfortunately I have to be kind and professional at my job no matter what kind of day/week/year I'm having so I sometimes hope for the same. Anyways, 3 hours later I received a FaceTime from a physician. She said the test was negative and to just watch my symptoms since it could take up to 14 days etc etc. She mentioned the rapid test is about 80% accurate which is a little alarming but hopefully that 80% is good enough! Haha All in all, it got the job done. I do not believe there are many locations/clinics offering the rapid test and/or allowing walk in's so I believe this could be the reason for the high volume traffic. COVID 19 test here with great insurance was $335 after being told by a referring physician that it would be free. I am in the healthcare industry and they overcoded my outpatient diagnostic test and said they spent 30 min providing medical care that was not provided. It is medical fraud plain and simple if not corrected. I spent hours on this trying to correct the bill. I called my insurance who paid out and said to reach out to their billing department. Called several times and sent emails with no reply. Finally disputed with my credit card company and won. A month later I get a repeat bill with a note saying payment after 94 days due will go to collections. This is a warning to you if you are considering going here. You will not find any billing support and their coders will upcode/upcharge your visit even if services are not provided. They have been reported to appropriate agencies for possible medical upcoding and thus , insurance fraud. For future reviews - please include how much you paid for your covid-19 test here so the public can have TRANSPARENCY of what to expect if you elect to get any medical care here. I came here again after a year because our Immigration Interview has finally been scheduled and we needed an update. The medical service and wait times were not too bad. However, the front desk and the payment portion of the visit was truly unacceptable - by legal standards. Let's start with a hypothetical that I had learned through law school. Say someone comes to you and say "I will mow your lawn for 20 dollars". This is considered an Offer. You would then say "Ok". This is considered an Acceptance. There was Consideration for the services rendered and a legal binding contract is then formed. When the person finishes mowing the lawn, they come to you and say "That is $30". The terms of the contract was $20, but they expect $30. The person asking for $30 would be the one breaching the contract. Basically, this is what happened here. We had our immigration physical, which we paid upfront for $295. We went through the regular routine and the nurse and the doctor stated we needed a shot/vaccine. The nurse explicitly stated $105 several times for the shot/vaccine. We agreed by saying "Ok". My wife received the shot after signing paperwork. Everything has been fine so far. When it was over, we received three pieces of paper - 2 for lab tests across the hall and 1 was the invoice for the shot/vaccine. The total was $105. It was clear. We walk up to the receptionist and she looks at the page and said that the nurse forgot the $30 "administration fee". I responded that it states $105, which was agreed upon and that I was not informed of this $30 administration fee. The receptionist goes back with the invoice to ask. She came back adamant that we must pay the additional $30. Again, I stated that this would be a breach of contract, which she responded: "This is not a breach of contract". As she stated this, I looked at the invoice in her hand, and they had handwritten the "administration fee" and scribbled out the total and placed a new total. In short, they altered the invoice after we had received the shot. When I stated that I was not informed of the administration fee, she responded: "Well, I am telling you now." I stated that we already received the shot. She goes back to ask again and comes back adamant that we pay the fee. So to recap, not only do they know that the services had been already rendered and the agreed upon price was $105 prior to the service and that it was a breach, but they explicitly and knowingly took these facts and demanded higher payment. After several back and forths with the receptionist, I decided to pay the $30 additional that I was not legally liable for. Why? Because I played the scenario out in my head. She was adamant of this fee - even going as far as saying "We can bill you later when you have the money" (while she had charged and held my Amex Platinum card for the prior charge). They would likely withhold our documents for the immigration interview for the unpaid fee. If I were to seek legal action, it would surely be placed past the interview date. Thus, I was forced to pay the $30 fee under duress. When we had finished with the bloodwork, we left. On our way home, I was called by someone in the front office that apologized for the altercation, but then goes on to explain the "administration fee". I stopped her from explaining and told her that the issue was the timing that the fee was added, not the fee itself. I promptly said thank you for apologizing, but it was clearly a breach of contract with payment made under duress. I would be very cautious about this place for them to do this so openly. I cannot recommend this place and if you are in need of care, I would look elsewhere. After this, if I ever needed a civil surgeon listed on the USCIS website again, I would travel farther for a more competent office. read more

My only word for the owners of this clinic is to remove your unhappy and disgruntled employees from the front desk. This is my 3rd Covid test there. The young black man at the front desk on 11/17/21 around 3pm is rude, arrogant and thinks he knows it all. 1. Sign clearly says "Wait in your CAR, we will call you when we are ready for you". I signed in online, so you knew I was there. Nobody called. After 30 min wait, I go back inside to be told I must sign in manually. Then the guy points to a sign which does NOT say to sign in manually first. After I correct him, he tries to give me an attitude. Why waste people's time with this duplicated process? 2. I submitted electronic copies of my ID and insurance card online (front & back). Why demand copies again? If your online sign-in process doesn't work then terminate it. All in all it's just the attitude of the staff and the unwelcoming feeling you get when going there. I left without being tested despite really needing this test. I am taking my family elsewhere from now on. I do NOT recommend this place. read more

I'm writing this review after my visit to the Germantown location last week for a COVID test. I think this is one of the only places doing rapid testing with same-day results in the general area right now. I made an appointment online and got there early for my rapid test. The folks working the registration handed everything well and gave clear instructions. The whole process was organized - most of it was digital, so it was pretty streamlined. The staff I spoke to was prepared with appropriate PPE and I noticed they were sanitizing pens and any other materials used, which I liked. I also noticed that a staff member was designated to making sure that those approaching the office for registration/testing were maintaining proper social distance. After checking in, I waited in my car and soon received a call to come in for my test. The wait was longer than I would have liked, but I guess fair given the apparent demand for tests right now. I also noticed that someone who registered after me was called in to do their test before mine, which I asked about. One of the employees let me know that this was due to some people's earlier appointment and info being processed faster (I believe due to factors like insurance verification or size of party). When I went in for the test, I was happy to learn that rapid tests don't involve the swab going all the way inside the nostril (they just go midway). After the test, I had questions about when and how I would get my results back, which an employee answered for me. I received a video call later that evening with my results and also got an email with details for logging into my patient portal for written results. All in all I'm satisfied with my experience and recommend it to anyone who needs a fast turnaround on a COVID test. In total, the process took 30 minutes from arrival to swab. It is probably best to make an appointment or you may risk longer wait times from what I could tell. I applaud the employees working here for dealing with many people on a daily basis and managing unknown scenarios well. read more

Okay so I showed up this morning early and waited three hours to even get tested for COVID. I have been tested for corona virus elsewhere before and the swab went so far up my nose my eyes watered and it burned. This was a very fast ring around the inside of each nostril and on my way. They did not give any explanation to how or when we should get results. The whole order of being seen is non existent. There were people who arrived and filled out paperwork after myself and was seen before myself, it is a walk up basis. Some people walked out in 20 minutes others, like myself, walked out in 3 hours. The last 2 months just to get 2 refills I've needed to schedule over 12 appointments. 10 of them were skipped with no notice and no followup by the medical provider. FALSE ADVERTISING & UNETHICAL PRACTICES Needed a COVID rapid test, so I schedule an appointment for 11/23/2020 because the Medical Access's website states "Same Day Results" for the COVID rapid test. I confirmed with the women at the front desk, and, separately, with the two women who were doing the nasal swabs that I had signed up for a rapid test and that I would have the results the same night. I asked what would happen in the event that I didn't receive a phone call, and was reassured that I would be able to view the results on the health portal that night. [night of appointment]... check the portal at 9:00 PM, and no results, so I call the office, but no one picks up. Answering machine says that the clinic will "upload test results within one hour." I leave a voice message clearly stating my name and number, and I also leave a message on the Athena Health Portal. [24 hours after my appointment]... check the portal again, and still cannot view results. Again, cannot get in touch with a single person at the clinic over the phone. I leave a voice message clearly stating my name and number. [40 hours after my appointment]... still no results, still cannot get in touch with anyone. I send messages to Dr. Takhar and Dr. Kassis requesting that my COVID "Rapid" Test be cancelled. [47 hours after my appointment]... I get a voice message from a nurse practitioner named Catherine to discuss the COVID test from 2 days ago. Callback number is 703-409-0938. I decide not to call back because I'm afraid that I will be billed for a consult over the phone (some other Yelp users have reported getting billed for the follow-up phone call). I check the Athena Health Portal, and FINALLY see my COVID "rapid test" results, nearly a full 48 hours after my appointment. Medical Access billed my insurance company $250 (two separate charges, mysteriously: $130 and $125, both for Urgent Care on 11/23/2020, the date of my appointment). ***FALSE ADVERTISING*** Medical Access advertises "Same Day Results" for COVID testing on their website, and their staff made verbal confirmations to me that (a) I was indeed enrolled in the same-day test (b) there were not any shortages in the supplies needed to run this test on the day of my appointment. ***UNETHICAL PRACTICES*** The employees misled people into believing that they would get same-day COVID test results, and by not providing critical test results for 48 hours, they not only inconvenience their patients, but they endanger the public. Not responding to any of the multiple messages that I left over voicemail and thru the Athena Health Portal is unacceptable conduct for a medical clinic. Do not under any circumstances attempt to get a sleep study done here. They will tell you that insurance will cover it without checking first with the insurance. They will push you to take the study and get it done quickly so that when insurance will not cover the costs, the study is already completed and you are stuck with the bill. Not only that, in my case, I was pushed to take the sleep study and was told that insurance would cover it (which was a LIE). I then took the sleep study and got stuck with the bill. The craziest part? The Dr. / insurance didn't even approve the CPAP machine that I need to address the positive diagnosis of sleep apnea. In summary, I was pushed to take the sleep study, told that insurance would cover it when they did not and didn't even check with insurance provider, got stuck with over $1000 in bills, then did not receive ANY health care, or ANY medical support. I was essentially tricked by this office so that they are able to collect on the money for the study without providing any care whatsoever. NEVER use this Dr.s Office. read more

This place gets 2 stars for having a convenient location and hours. It also looks like a really fun place to work! All of the staff look like they are having a really good time and are always joking together with each other! This means that you will get to do a lot of extra waiting even when you have an appointment, but the staff is having a good time so it is OK. Dr. J is a nice enough guy and seems knowledgeable, but is it really professional to meet with sales reps during an appointment? Is it OK because they are medical sales reps? I get that being a doctor is stressful, but please don't be so obvious about reading the "chistes" on your computer while you also read back my test results. Medical access was the only testing facility near me that offers rapid testing and walk-ins, was in and out in a very short period of time. My COVID rapid test experience - you wait in your car 2 hours to be summoned for your test. The PA who administers the test doesn't change the gloves she's been using all morning. The swab takes 10 seconds. They promote on their flyer that they will call you with results of the rapid test within 2-3 hours. I'm still waiting 24 hours later. Their website changed my appointment date between when I selected it and when I completed the sign-up, possibly because I spent approximately 5-10 min to complete all the signup info. I was waiting for nearly an hour in my car before they called me to say that I didn't have an appointment that day. I was told that people have frequent issues with their website but rather than being told how I messed up, which didn't match what I saw on the website this morning, I'd rather see the company acknowledge that their website has issues if they've got a pre-prepared explanation of all the ways I could have made a mistake using it. I was also told that the company would not schedule me for tomorrow instead and that I had to wake up at 7am again to try and get another appointment. Given that is what I did and my appointment selection was switched, it's crazy to ask a patient to repeat the process and expect a different result. I was possibly experiencing symptoms and had trusted this company to help protect my health, and was let down. The number of people who were getting tested simply for a holiday get together filled all the slots. A company actually interested in medical care would have allowed individuals who had health based desires for testing to have priority over those who want to feel good about avoiding social distance guidelines with a "test to prove their health". While I was waiting, I saw dozens of people move through the facility... I picked this place for my covid test because it's local and because I can't breathe deeply as of last night and wanted to know if it was allergies or covid. I had a quick COVID test that they said would take 1 hour. The office closed at 4 and I never received my results.

Got COVID test last year for my son and I. I wound up paying a little bit out out of pocket. Later I found out it was supposed to be free so then I notified Cigna of the mistake and they went back to Medical Access. Medical Access acknowledged the overpayment and still nearly two months later, no reimbursement (and nearly nine months after the tests). Also, when you leave a message, they say they will call back within 24 hours and I have yet to have a call back from that. I also was told a supervisor would call back within one hour for the one time I actually got through and a week later I am still waiting for the call. I find it interesting that if I owed them money, then I would be brought to collections. But, since they have my money, I have no recourse. read more

My son was recently charged $300 out of $335 for a COVID Test that was done last month that was NEVER billed to our insurance instead they decided to email him to let him know that his credit card was going to be charge $300 and that they will bill him separately the $35 since it exceeded the maximum allowed amount. This is beyond ridiculous when everyone else can get the test done for free. I will be placing a complaint against them if they don't fix the issue not to mentioned that my son was previous charge $90 for a DOS in January when all he needed to pay was $25. Because this place offers walk-ins, it has VERY long wait times typically. Even if you have an appointment, most of the time you need to wait. It's actually quite horrible because you can be very sick and still need to wait hours to see a doctor. When I was horribly sick for over a week, I made an appointment here. I still ended up waiting over three hours to see someone. It was miserable because the lobby was full, every seat was taken, and patients were being seen very slowly. Luckily, when it was finally my turn to see a doctor, they were thorough in my examination. They checked for multiple things instead of blindly writing a script for some antibiotics. I had to wait more for several tests to be done, but I was glad that all necessary steps were being taken. Turns out, I had a very bad case of the flu. The doctor was sympathetic, gave me good advice on how to take care of it, and wrote scripts for medicines that could help. I was also given a medical mask to protect other patients when I walked out, but I failed to see the purpose of it when I had already spent 3+ hours in the lobby mask-less... While the doctor I saw was wonderful, the front desk receptionists left a lot to be desired. I find them extremely rigid and unfriendly. I called the day after I was diagnosed with the flu to ask a question about a new symptom and was treated very rudely. The receptionist I spoke to told me to just follow the doctor's directions until I get better, and when I asked to speak with my doctor or even a nurse, she told me no one was available. That was not reassuring at all. My advice is as follows: If you really need to see a doctor and cannot make an appointment with your regular physician, then come here. It won't be pleasant and you will have to wait. But it beats sitting at home, knowing you need to see someone. My other recommendations would be to go to another clinic, like a MinuteClinic. You might have better luck with better receptionists. read more

If I could select zero stars, I would. Customer service is terrible. I've been here multiple times and they've always been good at billing me when I don't have appropriate funds, but today the receptionists had a massive attitude and turned me away when I was in significant pain due to a cluster headache. She had no face expression, spoke in a very robotic manner and showed no compassion regarding my situation. Absolutely unacceptable. Other urgent cares never turn patients away, they always make accommodations when necessary. They need to really train they're receptionists to have better customer service. read more

Very unorganized! Doctor called me after my test and stated I was positive but then later online the portal told me I was negative. So which one am I really? When I asked them to retest me they wouldn't and explained they knew I was positive for sure therefore couldn't come inside. When I asked how they knew for sure they could not give me a straight answer or shoe me MY OWN medical records!! They have inconvenience my whole family, wasted our money, time and still to this day have no idea if I am negative or positive for COVID! read more

UPDATE: SEE BELOW Made an appointment for 1:20. Arrived shortly after 1 but there was a line to check in at the trailer. After some confusion with insurance (they wouldn't take mine so I paid $150) I was finally checked in and told to wait in my car for a call to come in. Sat in my car for an HOUR. Finally they call and say they're ready for me. Okay great. Nope I then am standing in a DIFFERENT line to go inside the facility. If you're not actually ready, why call?? The actual testing room was not safe. 3 testers at tables in the same very small room and two people waiting right outside. Take blood O2, temp, and nasal swabs, and I get my license and credit card back. I ask if I should wait in my car for the results and they say no, they'll call me. Fine. Well it's been 9 hours and nothing. Yeah "RAPID". "Within the same day". Have left 2 messages. The pre recorded message says someone will upload my results within an hour of my message. HA! Do NOT go here for COVID testing. They most certainly do not take all major insurances, it takes at least an hour and half, you could very easily be exposed in the testing room, AND you won't even get the results!! This is COVID, not a skinned knee. They're in way over their heads. To the Yelp reader, go somewhere else! UPDATE: NEXT DAY Well not only have I still not gotten my results, I have a voice message from them saying I missed my appointment!!! What is going on over there??? read more

I recently was referred to their office for Covid testing. I work in a medical practice myself so I pay attention to all visits I go to FYI. I was able to reach someone easily when I called, they had no appts left that day but told me I was welcome to come as a walk in. They had a designated area for Covid testing, only one person allowed in at a time while getting paperwork and providing ID/insurance info etc as it should be, so you're not waiting in a room at all with others. Everyone was friendly and efficient at the desk. I waited in my car until it was my turn no more than 15 mins or so (but realize it is likely longer now due to higher volumes of Covid testing being done due to demand) and went in again the only patient and test was done quickly after my temp was taken. I got a face time virtual dr visit within 45 mins letting me know I was positive and reviewing my symptoms and what I needed to do. I have referred a few coworkers and friends there because I think they did such a good job and were so efficient. For everyone who doesn't work in medical going to any urgent practice right now like this one PLEASE be kind and patient and understand this is scary for EVERYONE. Especially when you are working it all day. So know that sometimes wait times will be longer than others if more people test positive on your day for example that's more time doctors have to take. In any case I've been to many urgent cares over the years and I had a great experience here so I will be back soon for my retest which is hopefully negative. I would like to tell you how much I appreciate everything Dr. Kassis has done for me, over many years. Dr. Kassis is responsible for discovering a node on my thyroid and sending me to an amazing doctor. Dr. Kassis also realized I had another kidney stone, but most recently, he has dealt with an issue that he had never seen before. I am one of the many patients who have been plagued with issues from a Statin drug. Last April, I was unable to walk, use my arms or hands, and was in excruciating pain, due to the muscle damage. He had me working with my orthopedic doctor, and a hematologist. My white blood count was quite high, and he needed to determine why. Needless to say, 10 months later, I am walking and raising my arms over 1/2 way up. I still have a lot of issues and pain, but I have come incredibly far under his medical tenacity and knowledge. This was a new and frustrating experience, for both of us, but with his knowledge and my will, I am 80 percent better, after 10 months. He now feels I can tolerate PT. I look forward to continuing to get better and cannot thank Dr Kassis enough. Dr. Kassis is a doctor who makes time for his patients. He is an extremely thoughtful listener and isn't afraid to recommend a specialist when needed. I always appreciate all of his advice and caring. I just wanted to take the time to tell you what an incredible doctor he is to his many patients.
