He spent a lot of time with us, and got some really terrific shots. He got the DVD to us, as promised, eight days after the shoot. My daughter is very happy with the pictures; her skin, which is actually very uneven, looked smooth yet natural in the photos that he retouched. Very nicely done. He was able to capture her spirit even though they had never met prior to he photo shoot. We couldn't be happier. He did a great job, he was easy to work with, and he was timely returning phone calls and emails, and the photos were ready earlier than we needed them.

When we met up to discuss locations for various shots, he didn't bring any agenda and was open to our suggestions. I take photos from time to time myself and I can say that he uses VERY nice equipment. He brought a backpack that was chock full of lenses and cameras and it seemed like he used everything in it at some point during the wedding, dinner, and reception. My wife and I vetted 3 different photographers because, like most people, this was a special occasion for us and we wanted to hire someone that would capture that feeling during this wonderful time in our life. We also wanted someone with a different, creative perspective. We were tired of seeing the same sort of photos from each wedding, but on the other hand, we wanted something that would never go out of style and would last a lifetime. I found Visions Forever when they had a Groupon deal for transferring VHS tapes to DVD. I see…read morethese deals a lot on Groupon, but you almost always need to send your tapes to some place in CA - or just MAIL them to anyplace - and I didn't want to send the only copy of family members away with the chance of losing them. So I jumped on this deal in Whitman, even though it involved a bit of a drive, and I had never even been to Whitman (but Whitman is where the Toll House Cookie originated, so everyone should go there once!!). Sharon was really nice, called me when they were ready, and worked around my crazy schedule when picking them up. Incredibly easy to find on Route 18.

I sent a detailed document with samples of the photos we wanted as well as a Pinterest page and Brianna had the Pinterest page open the whole time on her phone, looking to take advantage of any possible lighting/backdrops. We had another "big shot" photography company photograph our out-of-state wedding reception and even though I gave them a detailed description of what we wanted, a lot was missed and I felt like we were treated like numbers with them. He was about 3 months old at the time…read moreand we were excited to get the photos done so we could capture a time that only comes around once. I will fully admit I hadn't done my due diligence. I should have checked the prices more carefully prior to shoot and had I done my homework the events that followed wouldn't have come as such a surprise. Tara Morris, the photographer, came to our house and took photos of our new family. She did a good job working with my son, getting him to smile as best she could, etc. The service wasn't anything more than I would expect from any professional photographer, but she was friendly and suggested what pictures might be good to have. The photos themselves were good. My wife and I were married two years ago had our wedding pictures professional done for that occasion as well. It is my experience that any professional photographer is going to do an excellent job taking pictures. We were very happy with pictures we received from T.Spoon Photography, but when I pay someone $200 to come to my house to take pictures for a 1/2 hour, you expect them to be good. The problem with the entire experience came when we received the digital prints and went to order a few copies. The .jpeg images were $100/ea! One hundred dollars per picture, you read that correctly. 4x6's were $20 each. We purchased a few 4x6's and 1 larger photo with the hopes that we could scan them and then distribute them to our family afterward. When we received the pictures in the mail, each photograph was stamped on the back with a big 'Professional Photo, Do Not Scan' message which means that professional companies will not scan the photos for you. In the end, we ended up paying hundreds of dollars for maybe three or four 4x6 photos and one 5x8. The worst part was that there were many more pictures we would have liked to keep, but simply couldn't afford to do so. I've had other pictures professionally taken in the past and the .jpegs were around $10/ea. One hundred dollars per picture is so ridiculous that I wonder how T.Spoon Photography ever gets a single referral. Save yourself the heartache of having to turn down good pictures because of ridiculous prices and go to anyone else. Great pictures don't do you any good when they're outlandishly priced.

Out of all of the people we interviewed, Karman seemed the most enthusiastic and organized about photographing our wedding. It was clear from the beginning that she would dedicate a very high level of care and attention to making sure that we got beautiful photos in the style we were looking for. Karman really went above and beyond to make our photos look great. She made extra trips in advance to our ceremony and reception venues so that she could check out the lighting situation and scope out possible locations for great shots at each. She did a wonderful engagement shoot with my husband and I where she helped us to get comfortable with her style and with getting lots of pictures taken! I'm so happy we did that, because it made us so much more comfortable on our wedding day, and the pictures we got are really spectacular. At our wedding, Karman was all over the place hustling to get tons of fantastic shots of our guests, our venue, and of course us! We couldn't be happier with our photos. Karman and I met several times before the wedding to discuss what we wanted (specific photos, timeline for taking the photos, the "look and feel", etc) and she nailed every single one. Her and her assistant-- and it was so amazing to have a second shooter-- captured every important moment. Price was a big factor for us, too, as we paid for most of the wedding ourselves, and Karman's wedding package was significantly less than most of the photographers we contacted. She worked with us to make sure what we wanted worked with our budget, and she also spent a good amount of her own time meeting with us before the wedding, doing a walk through at our venue, and arriving earlier than scheduled the day of the wedding. I can't recommend Karman highly enough. So many of our friends weren't happier with their photographers. If you want a fantastic photographer at an affordable price Karman is it!
