I cannot possibly recommend Sean and his team enough. They were professional, efficient, honest, on time, and so completely human/personable when my father died and I, living outside the country, needed his things packed and moved to storage before I could get a flight out. There is a reason this company has been around for three generations: they care, and they care about doing a good job. They understand that their customers are real people, all with individual stories. They treated me with respect, did a great job of getting dad's stuff packed into the moving van when I was able to get back to the states, and were just amazing. What was a very difficult trip for me was eased considerably by Sean and his team (and the office greeter, Martha the black lab). At first, I had confidence in this moving company. Sean, the owners Son told me to "just sit back and relax. We'll take care of everything". First let me say that I did change my moving dates at least one time. Second, I asked Sean if we needed to sign a contract. I was told that " we would take care of that later" Third, I called the office and spoke with Sean's Mother regarding hiring "rogue movers". I wanted to know if they use "their" movers or hire out. Now, let me say that I told her who I was, verified the move date, and then asked the question. So, there should be no questions as to who I was and where I was moving. She responded with " Yes, we use our own movers from start to finish" LIE!! They have workers in the Medford office and when you move out of State, they hire a different crew. Yes, it IS ALL under the North American Van Lines umbrella. But, NO they were NOT the same movers...I feel she should have disclosed this information to me then instead of the day they were packing. Fourth, Sean came out the DAY of packing and had us sign the contract then. Now, I don't know about anyone else, but moving day is VERY hectic and there was a lot going on so, with that said and after the encouragement from Sean, we signed the LEAST amount of coverage for our items. There was a problem with the movers unhooking my washer and dryer to which I was told there would be another fee on both ends. I was NOT told about this before... Although, the driver didn't seem to mind hooking it up (confused...) Fifth, when our items arrived all seemed fine. Until they got to the BRAND NEW REFRIGERATOR out of the box!! The idiot couldn't get it through the hose and basically shoved it through and now I have a 1' crease on two doors!! Sixth, while unpacking a box labled, dishware and misc. I discovered 3 (yes 3) items broken. All glassware that is irreplaceable. Then, I discovered my Ron Popeil rotisserie broken and a strainer smashed. Now, I don't know about anyone else, but, I would certainly NOT pack glass with an appliance AND if I DID, I would have made cushions all around the items. Which they did NOT!! Now, we have put in a claim for all of these items only to be told, that we signed the contract at .60 per pound. I have reached out to Sean, the claims adjuster and the President of North American. Only to get told basically, too bad. That's what you signed and that's what you'll get, I'm not asking for money. It's the principle. These people, knowingly packed my belongings in a haphazard manner and are blaming me for the lack of knowledge and expertise. I will never recommend this moving company. They have poor business practices. They don't answer there phone, email or text when something is going wrong or you need answers. They basically take your money and are done with you. Even the president didn't have the courtesy to call back. He had his admin do it. Buyer beware of this company. Poorly run and just money hungry. read more

As someone who has moved 9 times in the last 20 years, I know gold standard moving and storage companies/services. I can confidently say that the last move handled by Medford Moving & Storage was the best experience that we have ever experienced in all our move's and relocation's. The complete experience was handled with an incredible high level of professionalism and expertise! During the planning phase, Colleen Holbert and Sean Preston were attentive, responsive, trustworthy and expert in their advice to us. When the move came, the packing was carefully done and the team was uniformly pleasant, efficient and hard working. We had to store our furniture for almost a month and that went off without a hitch. Finally the delivery in Portland was timely and done with the same high level of service and efficiency. Our driveway is long and winding and the crew had to employ a shuttle truck to get the furniture and boxes to the house (which meant that every piece had really to be packed and moved twice.) Again, they accomplished this flawlessly. To sum up our experience with Medford Moving and Storage from the very beginning to the follow up emails throughout the process and then the actual move, everything was EXCELLENT! The entire organization was a pleasure to work with. Don't make the same mistake I did. I've lived in 6 different cities across the country over the past 15 years and this was the worst experience yet. Facts: - They only send a two man crew for loading and unloading. Even though they mentioned the crew would be larger. - They don't wrap or protect any furniture. Almost anything wood or metal is scratched, chipped or dented. They also managed to bend at least one leg on every table I owned. - They also don't protect your home by placing cardboard on wood floors, wrapping high-traffic corners, etc. This is common with all my other moves. - When leaving my home they backed their rented Uhaul into my roof and gutter damaging both. - When delivering my property it was filthy from the time in storage - Also during delivery, one of the two man crew dropped something on his foot and couldn't work. I had to empty 1.5 of the 2 trucks. Thy remaining man was trying to do it himself. They did call in a local replacement to help with the remainder of the move (which did not make the MMS guys happy as they probably lost money from the extra expense). This local mover was very professional, and took care of my belongings and protecting my new home - he did NOT work for MMS. - After all the damage to my homes and property MMS only provided $200.00 to cover the cost for their incompetence. If you're already under contract, a couple of tips: - Sean is a very nice fast talking guy but in the end it's all dollars and nothing to do with customer service so be skeptical and don't trust them. - Make sure everything is on the inventory list. Double check it, and then check it again at unloading. The moving guys won't and they will complain because it takes extra time, but do it. I did, and when we came up 7 boxes short they noted it, but never followed-up or reimbursed me. - Anything electrical turn on and show them that it works before they move it. Otherwise they write their descriptions of everything as used, work, scratches, etc. and then take no responsibility for things that don;t work because you didn't prove to them that it worked before they moved it. So they assume it was broken from the start. - Don't pay until your're sure you have everything, and everything works. This sounds simple, but at the end of a long moving day it's usually late and the moving guys are pushing to get home. Take the time, make them stay or come back, just don't pay. You'll never see your money again. read more

If you have ever gone through a move you know what can go wrong and how important a good moving company is to makes those wrong things go away. We used this company, operated by Lile Movers and were exceptionally satisfied with them. It started with the appraisal by Jim Hall who made us feel very comfortable with our selection immediately. Everything he told us turned out to be true and he even went out of his way to find us a reasonable priced storage unit in our new location. The packing crew turned up on time, were neat, polite, friendly, efficient and professional. The same thing was experienced when the loading crew and driver Larry Hall turned up to load our possessions. They were as efficient and friendly as the packing crew. We arrived at the storage lo location as the last item was being placed in it and were able to reconnect with Larry and his unloading crew. We have purchased a new house in our new location and will be using the unloading crew to move the items from our storage unit into our new house. We can't praise this company and its employees enough for taking so much stress out of our lives by making this move a smashing success.
