The Malvern Elderly Citizens Welfare Association which began in the 1950's, is a well established charity for the elderly and infirm. This Op Shop is part of three, the other two are located in Malvern obviously.
The atmosphere when you enter is unlike other standard op shops, you certainly get the feel that a good and discerning eye, or eyes, have cast their glance over anything that comes through and only the best looking items are put up for sale. You'll definitely not ever find anyone's rubbish here. The selection of books is pretty amazing, like browsing through your favourite uncles library. The crockery sets are packaged up nicely together as the set they came in, so if you are after ONE teacup for instance, better luck further up the road as you'll have to buy a set of four. Or six.
As I mentioned, keep an eye out for hidden gems. Things like good paintings, not el-cheapo prints, do end up here as well as a good selection of genuine vintage items of fashion. But you won't find furniture at the Windsor outlet.
The volunteers are very helpful, and you'll definitely also notice the really wonderful and interesting artworks created with bric a brac, such as the large mirror framed with old silver cutlery and teapots, the mirror with teacups and saucers, and lately the other mirror made of old dolls. They move them around so you always have something different to see. Oh and the lamps made from stacked books as well.
