The working staff is very friendly and Champion Lakes have accomodations to stay overnight with great golf packages. The late great Pittsburgh Pirates, Dick Groat and Jerry Lynch designed the course. The views across the valley can be lovely - you may get more sniffs of nature than you desire on certain holes, but that factors into the ambiance. Clubhouse: Bad. The clubhouse is extremely dated and not very well maintained. I doubt any upgrades have been made since it was built. Pro for me though - clubouse dogs! Some very old very sweet labs are there (as of 2022)

That said, the course charges resort-course green fees that I believe are too high for what's offered here. As of now, the weekend green fees is roughly $90, and I feel like $60-70 is more on par for what it should be. The course itself is challenging, but fair. There aren't any greens that are impossible, and there are several yards of rough on each side of the fairways before you get into serious hazards (meaning the average golfer has a little room to miss before being penalized, which I like). And the grounds crew does a nice job keeping the fairways and greens in good condition (though par 3 tee boxes could be improved). Overall, I'd come back and play again every once and I while, but I wouldn't make it a home course because it's a bit overpriced in my eyes.

Very nice and well maintained course. They have public golf so you don't necessarily need a…read moremembership. Very fair price for 18 holes. The front nine is very open with only a few blind spots. It does have some tricky shots over the ponds. The back nine has a lot of blind spots and a longer play time than the front nine. The owners are pleasant and the facilities are enjoyable. We try to go every Sunday and it's a great way to release some stress.
