I was in extreme pain for 5 days, all day all night. Needly to say, I hardly slept for 5 days. I called the clinic and got an appointment for Friday, February 24 at 4:00 PM. The pain was so bad coupled with nausea and vomiting that I went to the emergency at St. Mary's early Friday morning. I had a CT scan at 2:00 PM and the result showed that I have a kidney stone. I told the emergency doctor that I was a patient at Cardiogenix and he told me that I need to see a urologist. He did not refer me to a urologist but he knew that the urologist was part of Cardiogenix. After staying overnight, I was released with a prescription for morphine and instructed to make an appointment at Cardiogenix. I made an appointment for Tuesday, February 28 at 4:00 PM. My doctor explained everything to me and what will happen next and was sent home with another prescription for morphine. Dr. Matthews, the urologist, is only at Cardiogenix on Thursdays at the clinic downstairs. By the time I finished my appointment, the clinic was closed. The next day, I had a hard time getting through to the switchboard. When I finally reached someone, I said I need an appointment with Dr. Matthews. She told me that she needs the referral from my upstairs doctor before she could give me an appointment. So I called upstairs and left a message at the front desk for my doctor to send my referral to Dr. Matthews. I had to call many times upstairs and downstairs to find out what was happening with my referral. Upstairs tells me that it is getting processed. Downstairs tells me that they are waiting for the referral. Even though upstairs and downstairs are Cardiogenix, they are separate entities and they don't talk to each other. When I finally got an appointment with Dr. Matthews on Thursday, March 23, three Thursdays had passed, 23 days since my appointment with my doctor after my emergency visit. I find this service unacceptable, especially since I was paying $129 per month. No one should go through extreme pain for over 3 weeks in Canada. Yes, I was on morphine, but I was also nauseous and vomiting and the Gravol did not help. I had a chest xray at the hospital because I told them that I was short of breathe. A week or so after I left the hospital, the triage doctor called me and told me that he sees something in my xray and for me to go to the hospital and pick up the results and take it to my doctor. I asked the doctor if it was possible to fax it to my doctor. He said he could do that. I received a letter dated September 28, 2017 from Cardiogenix. By this time, I had found a free family doctor and requested that my file be sent to her. The letter states that they had received a note from the emergency doctor at St. Mary's. The note says that the xray showed a shadow on the right side and "a chest xray needs to be repeated again as soon as possible" in bold and underlined. I was to notify my family doctor to arrange a repeat chest xray. This is 7 months later. My doctor was not happy to see this letter when I showed it to her. I had the xray done the next day, which was normal. Another good reason to severe my ties with Cardiogenix. They only care about you if you pay them. Margaret Not a satisfied customer
