Papelote is a Czech brand and they mostly sell things from local / national illustrators and designers, which I think makes it even more fun. There's also more global things like washi tape and origami papers, though. Worth a visit if you like paper, postcards, tape, etc. And yes, it's indeed quite a bit more expensive than most shops in Prague, but cheap compared to similar shops in Western Europe. And hey, it's paper! There must be more paper lovers like me out there?! :)

The staff seemed incredibly knowledgeable and professional and although art store personnel can often be intimidating, everyone here seemed quite approachable and helpful. I worked with one young man in particular who I can't seem to remember the name of. (Which is such a shame because I'd love to thank him personally.) He was outstandingly energetic and enthusiastic about the art materials and I found him to be engaging and thoughtful. He had an amazing familiarity with everything in the store and knew exactly what I was looking for when I asked about materials unique to the area. His passion for the materials and authenticity in his recommendations created an inviting and truly pleasant experience. In fact, I had such a lovely experience that I signed up for Yelp just so I could write them a positive review!

As the Christmas season is upon us I knew I needed to stock up on glitter and coloured paper. They let me spend a good 20 minutes examining each and offered suggesting and helped me get the best deal possible. It was pretty amazing. Needless to say, I will be going back.
