My daughter purchased a McCombo lift chair prior to her back surgery to help her stand and sit during the long recovery process. The McCombo chair worked fine the first three days, and she was with the chair. BUT three days after her back surgery the lift function and leg extension stopped working!
We contacted McCombo about the problem, and customer service rep was rude, ("you can come to our showroom in Los Angeles") and not sympathetic or helpful, telling us to go online and email their tech department.
We did. The tech requested I send pictures of both remotes, and wiring underneath the chair, and I did so. Their techs diagnosed the lift function and leg extension failure to function was with the remote and they would replace it. McCombo emailed that they would ship the replacement remote via FedEx 2-4 day delivery! I requested that they overnight it since my daughter had back surgery three days prior and was without a working lift chair. McCombo rep Liorra emailed back that they "...were sorry for the inconvenience," but were still going "...to ship it via 2-4 day delivery."
The replacement remote arrived, but did not fix the problem. When I informed McCombo, Liorra in Customer Service emailed us that they were going to ship us "...a replacement control box and long lift motor."
This situation with McCombo is similar to buying a new car, then three days later the car stops working. The dealer says its a transmission problem, and "We're sorry for the inconvenience, we're going to ship you a new transmission."
Don't ask your customer to replace your defective motor and control box on your non-working chair!
Just replace your McCombo malfunctioning lift chair!
I would not recommend McCombo to anyone if this is the way they treat their customers and stand behind their product. read more
