Second review…read more.. Please note again, the providers I have dealt with are great. Administatively, they are terrible. Earlier I had two balances, totaling less than $18, for which I NEVER received statements, which were sent to collection. Today I called their billing people to see if I had any current balances discovered that i owed two balances less than $16. They claimed statements were sent in April, May, and June. I never received any such statements. I paid both on the phone call. When I was forwarded to "somebody" who could help me, I end up with voice-mail every time. Rediculous. We're continuing to use them only until we get our new GP and Cardiologist set up next month. --Robert W

When I arrived, I was treated with friendly employees and a nice nurse and a friendly, thorough doctor. I saw Dr. Gupton and he was very good. Asked all the right questions, didn't treat me bad for being the cause of all of my medical problems, scheduled a future appointment, ordered blood work, referred me to an ophthalmologist, an actually talked to me about my medical history. The other great thing about this place is that they have an in-house lab (did a quick and painless blood and urine sample) and they have an in-house x-ray setup. Very convenient if you don't want to run all over Clinton (or over to Oak Ridge or LaFollette). By the time I arrived home in Rocky Top, there was a message that my prescriptions were ready to pick up at CVS and there was a message from the Ophthalmologist that my eye appointment had been made for me. The next day I received a phone call saying the doctor had concerns about my blood sugar and because of my neuropathy history, he was referring me to an endocrinologist. I was very happy with the treatment and their thoroughness.

He stays right on top and has been there for me as a doctor should and beyond. He cares, truly cares and has been a major support figure in my life. I can't imagine him not being my doctor and dread the day he decides to retire. I hope it's not anytime soon, as selfish as that may sound! lol I love his staff! This is the worst treatment I have ever experienced. My husband was very sick and needed to be…read moreseen. The staff was rude and told him they may work him in but when he went to the office they said he could not wait to be seen, and needed to leave or they would call the police. He was barely able to walk and was told they would not see him at all after waiting for a few minutes in the office. Due to the pain he didn't want to drive home and back there. He has a known illness and this was his primary care doctor (although he had never seen the actual doctor only nurse practitioners). Today, he received a certified letter stating they would not see him as a patient at any summit facility except if an emergency within next 30 days. He had an emergency, Clinton location would not see him, that is what started it. It is more than ridiculous to say you are a patient care representative and treat someone that was clearly ill like this. And when in the parking lot, trying to get directions to a real doctor, the police showed up. The police were very nice and could tell he was hurting and was only trying to get directions to a real doctor. We have been a patient at Summit in Knoxville for years. I haven't received a call back from Summit main office, I had voiced a complaint that day.
