I'm giving the hotel a mixed review 'cause I was pretty disappointed to find the pool closed during my stay. It's about to be 100 degrees this upcoming weekend, so I didn't really understand the reasoning behind it being unavailable when guests need it most. Especially the jacuzzi. However, the silver lining was stumbling upon Por Ali Spa right next door next to the lobby. It was unexpected, but it was an absolute oasis in the middle of deserted West Texas! I've traveled a lot, but the deep tissue massage I received there was hands-down the best massage of my life, period. The hospitality was outstanding and I felt incredibly comfortable with the entire team. Beyond the massage, I got a great haircut and even got convinced on my very first pedicure--which, after such a great experience, definitely won't be my last. They even have a full-service coffee shop inside which made the whole vibe feel really upscale and luxury, again really unexpected. If you're staying at this hotel and find yourself bored or melting in the heat, do yourself a favor and go to this spa. The staff there treated me like royalty and totally changed my perspective on my stay in Odessa. Highly recommended! read more

Check in took awhile but we were helped by Justine and she was extremely kind and helpful. Justine answered all our questions. We checked into our room and it was so cold and just right. The rooms have a refrigerator so that is a plus. We woke up for breakfast and the ladies in the dining area were so kind and accommodating. I got the impression I was the only one here. Starbucks Espresso in the spa. Not avail till 7:30 am I got some the night before. Room fridge kept it fresh till the am. Spa....haircuts and massages. 16 yrs massage experience. ( I didn't get one ) Very tempting. Very emotionally engaging employees. Very much down to earth and my style. Hotel staff was absolutely amazing!! They were extremely accommodating for my late arrival and for all my questions, there's a lot of reviews about the hotel being outdated, but almost everything has been updated. I would choose this hotel over anything else in Odessa, I chose to extend my stay for a week and the hotel staff were able to get me at the same price that I booked it at originally which they did not have to do at all! Extremely clean rooms, DIRECTV, beautiful style in the lobby, only thing that I wish they had was a laundry room, but nonetheless everything else blows it out of the water. Also, another plus that I saw was almost every day. There was either a security guard at night or a police officer so I felt very safe with my service truck being in the parking lot. read more

Stayed at the Elegante for one night. The website pictures make the hotel look nicer than it truly is. I'm sure it was really nice before the oilfield boom but it is not nice now. Hotel is outdated with dirty popcorn ceilings. Air conditioner and bathroom vent was very dirty. Stains on the curtains. Looked like someone punched the bathroom door. One of the windows looked like it had a bullet hole. Old nasty food on the outside of the microwave. Mold inside the refrigerator. Drink or food stains on the walls. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This hotel needs and extreme deep clean and update. Should not get even one star but have to select one for the review. read more

We were in town for medical purposes. Called for room service. Almost everything we ordered they were out of. Tried to get a cocktail in the restaurant at 9PM. Was told no, that the bar was closed. However...... For significantly increased price was able to order drink through room service! We went to the front desk to inquire as to why this was. Stood there for almost 15 minutes. No one ever came to the desk. We will be coming to Odessa rather frequently. Will not EVER stay at this "5 Star" hotel again. read more

If it wasn't for the absolutely amazing venue Buffett and made to order pasta station they made for us, I could have early given this 2 stars. The venue space itself was nice, but extremely underwhelming in set up and lighting. It was really dark in the room and hard to work after the sun went down. The sleeping rooms were just ok. A little dated but the real issue was a loud group of people outside still partying til 2am. Maybe 8-10 people by the fire pit drinking and having a good time. Not mad at them at all, just made it real hard to sleep. The gym was non existent. Had to drive 15 mins to the closest planet fitness. All in all for Odessa, this was an ok place. Just a few quirks keeping it from being 4 stars. But again, venue food was some of the best I've ever had. 4/9 read more

VERY disappointed!!!!!!! The hotel looked nice till we started eating our just bought pizza to see a roach crawling on the table! Me and my boyfriend killed it and searched the room to find another one by the hot tub. Lots of lack of mantinence. They didn't clean worth a crap. There was probably a years worth of dust behind the fireplace. Ketchup on their curtains as well. We filed a complaint and waited for 2 days. They never got back with us so we called and they said there was absolutely nothing they can do for us! not even half a refund. Worst place ever. Don't go here. you'll be very displeased. read more

The only reason I am giving them 2 stars & not 1, is because the room itself was a decent size, and clean... My boyfriend and I drove into Odessa, TX from San Diego, CA for a wedding. The MCM Elegante was conveniently located fairly close to the wedding venue, so we took it... We planned to check in 2 nights earlier than the wedding night, to enjoy the luxuries the hotel was supposed to offer... Pool, Jacuzzi, hotel bar, etc... When we got there around midnight (they were well aware we were going to be checking in late) the woman checking us in proceeded to tell us we did not have a reservation at the Hotel, that we must have had reservations at their other hotel, because our name did not sound familiar & there was no "sticky note" telling her we would be arriving... after insisting we did in fact make reservations, she decided to finally check the computer (why didn't she just check in the first place instead of assuming, and sending us into a panic), to find that someone had already checked us in before we got there...(uhm...what??? Is that even allowed...?) We got into our room, that was the end of that... The following morning, we get ready to head out to the pool, only to learn that the pool area was closed. We called the front desk, who informed us that the pool was seasonal... Seasonal? In Texas? It was the end of May, 1:00pm and 105º outside. And the pool was closed... Needless to say we were EXTREMELY dissatisfied at this point... The A/C was not very helpful when it came to keeping the room at a comfortable temperature, and it was so loud it would wake us up in the middle of the night. It took 15 minutes for the water to get luke warm for a shower, and we had to have the maintenance come and "fix" it while we were away at the wedding... only to learn the following morning that it definitely was not fixed... cold showers for us! -_- After the wedding, we held a party at the Oasis bar that is located inside of the Hotel. (It was convenient, since we were all coming in from out of town & all staying at the MCM Elegante while visiting) If you are able to spend your money elsewhere, do it. $10 per person to enter the bar, which is ridiculous in my opinion... We spent so much money while there. Between the several bottles of wine, champagne and alcohol service we ordered, $10 / person for 10+ people to get in, plus the numerous drinks ordered from the bar... all for crappy customer service, and fraudulent charges on 2 different credit cards that were used for payment at the Oasis... Seriously so disappointed. Never again. read more

I stay at this hotel every time work brings me to Midland-Odessa. I love the convenience of the location and the fact that the bar The Oasis serves food until 11:30pm. The drinks are always consistent and the food has been perfect and very tasty every time. I always order the grilled shrimp skewers with vegetables but the menu seems to have something to appeal to all tastes. The bartenders and servers and great and eager to please. The hotel staff is always friendly and professional. I usually book through Hotels.com and obtain an $89 rate and with tax is $102. I've never had any problems with the location and feel safe arriving after dark or going to my car. The hotel itself may be very dated. However, they make up for that fact with the reasonable price per night and friendly attitude! The beds are extremely comfortable and pillows are plenty and great! Room service is super quick and always consistent. Bathrooms are a bit on the small side but always clean. During my most recent stay I was randomly upgraded to the 8th floor which provided a card for complimentary cocktail/appetizers till 9pm in a lounge with a view (of boring/flat Odessa) on the 8th floor and free breakfast till 9am. It was a nice surprise! There is a "hotel guests only" park and walking track behind the hotel which is great in between conferences calls. The hotel is located about 2 miles away from the mall and other shops and very close to highway access. I'll continue to stay here each time I'm in the area. read more

Detailed review: drove in from San Diego last month, arrived at 2am, and was told that I was in the wrong hotel, because the front desk had no reservations pending. Turned out that someone checked me in and charged me several hours earlier. It confused the clerk, because "there wasn't a sticky note with my name on it". Despite 100 degree weather, the pool was "closed for the season"...in late May... I killed something crawling around the bathroom. Wasn't a roach, but, does it matter? For me picking a hotel is a major deal. I don't need anything grand or over contemporary but I do expect friendly staff, a clean room, and a rate that doesn't make me sad. There are so many hotel options in Midland and Odessa it's just a little overwhelming. After literally spending a month web stalking different locations and actually making and canceling reservations at two different hotels I decided my single night would be spent at the MCM Elegante Odessa. The total cost for a king size room for 1 night ran me $133.39. This is pretty average cost for the area but what sets the MCM Elegante Odessa apart from a large number of the other hotels, is that the MCM offers free shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. This free shuttle perk saved me a $50.00 cab ride and gave me piece of mind that I'd have someone waiting for me when my plane landed at 9:00PM. The shuttle driver was a little hard for me to understand but very sweet and I wasn't freaked out riding with him, which has been known to happen. I was checked in at the hotel by the night manager who was fast and friendly. I got a kick out of the "oasis" décor and I thought the water feature in the lobby relaxing. I honestly wouldn't mind working there at night to sit in the soft lighting and listen to sounds of the tanks. I wonder if they're hiring... My room was very large. My bed was HUGE with this amazing head board. The bedding was a white haven of comfy goodness and I didn't even feel like pulling out my black light for inspection. There was a mini refrigerator and microwave...both CLEAN inside. The bathroom was for sure run down and in need of some updating but the tub was large and when my man arrived in the morning and took a shower, the shower faucet was tall enough to accommodate his 6'4 height and the hot water stayed hot with "perfect" water pressure. Oh and you know how most hotels just offer like 7 TV channels and then a crap ton of channels you have to pay for? Well this place has TONS of TV channel options. I seriously felt like I was at home and was happy that I didn't have to miss my Bob's Burger, Cleveland Show, Family Guy nightly lineup. read more

We drove in last weekend for my grandmother's funeral. The last time my family stayed in this hotel it was a Hilton. Accommodations haven't really been upgraded from the 1990s. I would've been ok with all that. However, the front desk showed no empathy for our situation. I was there with my elderly parents, trying to navigate funeral arrangements for my grandmother. The funeral was on a Monday at 1 pm. I asked the front desk if we could extend our check out. We were driving back to Austin and Houston after the service and wanted the option to come back to the hotel and change our clothes prior to the drive. The hotel couldn't accommodate a late check out for a family member's funeral-- we would be charged for another day. I even asked to speak to a manager and was told the answer would be the same. I could understand if the hotel were busy ... it wasn't. It was on a Monday. Mid July. In Odessa. I've worked in the hospitality industry. This would have been an opportunity for the staff to extend a little grace, a little kindness, a little empathy to a family who was already having a really hard weekend. Yee haw, have been traveling to Midland/ Odessa area at least once a month to see grandchild in area and coming from a large city have found it difficult to find nice friendly hotels. Well the journey has ended the MGM Elegante in Odesa was amazing, the staff was very nice from pool attendant to maid service very tentative and friendly, the Saturday brunch was amazing and kids 5 and under eat free with buffet style 5 star accommodations, price was very good in restaurant, the kids loved the very large pool with attendant on site to offer towels, there is a spa on-site also a Starbucks. The room was out of this world large TV and the beds were very comfortable. Now my biggest win was good pillows and many of them. The whole hotel decor was what you would find in a fine name brand downtown hotel, yet the price was very well worth the stay be paid 89.00 for 1 nite 2 queen beds overlooking pool. If ever in need in this area a must for your stay excellent establishment we will definitely return highly recommend will not be disappointed. I do many recommendations and usually never give a 10 plus rating yet I am very happy to offer 10 PLUS RATING. enjoy read more

My husband and I chose to stay at this hotel on 5-31-19 cause we have stayed in "mcm elegante" on different locations in the past and we have enjoyed or stay. Setting aside the level of excellence that this 4 star hotel promotes. Arriving to the hotel; the front desk staff ( i believe her name is Belinda) was not approachable and had a smart ass attitude (excuse my French) during my check-in. I recall asking her for a quiet non smoking room and she seemed to ignore my comment. After going up to my room I room and noticed I forgot to pack some of my toiletries and personal items and decided to call the front desk and ask the front desk if they could please send a tooth paste and razor up to my room after predicting a 4 star hotel would supply or sale them if needed. Belinda rudely tone replayed "we do have them but there is no housekeeping not staff to deliver my items" (what hotel that promotes excellence does not have any housekeeping at 8 pm on a Friday??.. ) Ignored her comment and come down to get the items!!! The morning of Saturday June 1 called the front desk and asked for an extra tooth paste and got the same reply from the night before but this time I questioned the front desk agent; is there ever any housekeeping working on this hotel specially on a morning at 11 am??? The FD agent answered my question and said i will try finding someone to deliver the item to my room. Probably 5 min after hanging up a gigantic roach on the picture was climbing on the head board and felt on top of my sleeping husband and immediately after I called the front desk to make them aware of what just happened and 10 ish minutes later a housekeeping manager came up to inspect my room at that time we. My husband and I were changing after a shower and getting ready to leave the room, so I kindly said "can you please come back up in a couple minutes cause we are changing getting ready to leave the hotel" and thank her for delivering the pastel. She rolled her eyes and then left!! After discussing with my husband all the bad service during naour stay and the unpleasant roach experience. We felt with the confidence of asking for a refund and wanted to check out. The agent rudely said " we don't do refunds just like that, I have to send a housekeeping to inside the room since you told her not to when she went up" and that i had to wait. I was a bit irritated with all this attitude and un sanitary hotel and made and honest statement saying "I'm not from Odessa and I'm fixing to drive back home" and showed the picture of the gigantic roach. The housekeeping and front desk agent after seen the picture they reacted like it was something normal and also they said that it was a water bug and that I should not be making a big deal about it. This hotel advertises itself as 4 star. It is not 4 star. While the room was clean, and the bed reasonably comfortable, the decor was somewhat dated, and the bathroom faucet suffered a significant dripping issue. The coffee maker in my room did not work at all, and I had to move the microwave to the bathroom sink in order to find an electrical outlet that would allow me to plug it in. After a long day of travel I checked into the hotel and wanted a meal, however there was little to nothing within reasonable walking distance, so I decided to eat at the hotel. At first I walked into the Oasis Pub, however I was immediately overwhelmed by cigarette smoke. Perhaps that's still normal for this area, but I haven't had to put up with smoke in a restaurant or pub for the last decade throughout my other North American travels. As a result, I turned around and went next door to the Shrimp Boat restaurant. The decor was likewise very stale and dated. I ordered a seared tuna sandwich as well as the salad bar. The salad bar was somewhat overpriced given how uninspired it was. When the tuna sandwich arrived, my spirits sank when I saw packets of yellow mustard and mayonnaise on the plate, which foreshadowed the culinary experience I was about to have. The tuna was excessively salty and overcooked to the consistency of a hockey puck. For a restaurant that claims to have a legendary seafood buffet, I was rather surprised that they can't cook a piece of tuna. Given that I was exhausted and starving after having been awake since 3 AM, I ate it anyway, but afterwards I regretted not sending it back, and not having walked the mile to Subway for dinner instead. read more

The pool is never open when they say it will be open and the hot tub is super cold. The pool is warmer than the "hot tub". The room are a little outdated and not many outlets to charge our electronics at. The staff is super friendly. The housekeepers sometimes cleaned the room great and sometimes they slacked off. They act like its a high class hotel, but the rooms are horrible and not maintained well. A surprisingly nice hotel that has great service and fairly nicely appointed rooms. I stayed on the first floor which I don't normally like but this was quite pleasant. The rooms were fairly recently updated with a more of an old world type of elegance. I love this hotel. It is spacious and DARK in the rooms, which is excellent for this momma with babies who love to wake up with the sun. I was disappointed the pool was being treated and we didn't get to swim upon arriving even though I'd called ahead to check on the pool. Jessica, the manager, made up for it by letting us check out late and swim until 2pm. She was so pleasant, I was not. I applaud her for dealing with me so well! The outdated decor I could deal with. The ridiculous statue of the Ten Commandments at the entrance didn't faze me. But when you walk into your room and it smells like a wet dog that rolled in fresh road kill, that's not ok. Instead of giving me another room they sent up a maintenance guy who agreed with me about the stink and sprayed it with air freshener. So now the room smells like a wet dog who rolled in a dead squirrel who was holding a bouquet of flowers when he died. Avoid this place. read more

The Drury in is WAY better than this "Elegante", this place is in the middle of nowhere, when i asked is there anything around to eat, the van driver told me "there's a 7-11 next door". There is a giant 10 commandments right at the entrance, i come to the hotel is to sleep, not to be reminded of some other religious believes that i don't give a shit.
