It's still painful when a memory (homage to a mother) turns sour from a bad encounter. Driggers is a must stop for us between Augusta and Waycross, especially for Driggers' greens in fall which are consistently fantastic. Other produce is also excellent, and I loved his comment about 'widow maker' watermelons one summer -- the melons were so large a grown man would stagger a bit carrying one (they were as good as they looked, too). In mid-2024 Driggers 'upgraded' the farm stand in Collins to more of a country store adding a variety of commercial jams, syrups, candy and other items. Nothing wrong with this and the core produce is as good as ever, but it does change the feeling when you enter the store. Strongly recommended for a look-see if you are in or passing through the area and have an interest in excellent, locally grown vegetables and fruits.

We played a lot of outdoor activities - it was a hot day and not too crowded. Sadly Poppell was a no go for the 2020 pumpkin season, but we still took advantage of them for Christmas trees! We got a tree and a wreath! Trees come in varying sizes. They have different colored tags to denote how tall the tree is. Their wreaths come in different sizes too! One thing that really stood out was that they were very safety conscious. You could tell that safety is their first priority. The staff were very courteous and it seemed like there was a staff member everywhere you turned. The only reason I didn't give our visit 5 stars was because the "pumpkin patch" was very disappointing. We had driven 1.5hr to get here with the main purpose of wanting our kids to have the experience of a hayride to an actual pumpkin patch. Instead, we waited 45min in line for the hayride that ended at a grass field (not pumpkin patch) with only small pumpkins (that were not big enough to carve). They did have full size pumpkins of various sizes and price points in the main event area back at the farm entrance, but we were expecting a place where pumpkins could be picked off the vine. For this reason, I'm not sure we'd return but I do want all the other great aspects noted because they were so well done.

After driving by a few of their signs on i20 I stopped at the stand at a BP gas station at exit 49 (4335 Fulton Industrial Blvd SW). Their peaches are from Dickey Farms in Musella, GA. They also have watermelon from Cordele,GA, and tomatoes from Moultrie,GA. My haul included peaches Peach glazed bread, hot sauce, salsa, nearly 4 liters of peach cider, and F.R.O.G. jam (figs, raspberries, orange peel, and ginger). If you like mango salsa you'll like the peach salsa and hot sauce, which are both mild. The bread is meant to be bread; not a dessert. With that in mind their bread is done well. I toasted a slice and ate just that alone. There were no bad peaches in my batch. All sweet. The Frog jam has lots of flavor without being too sweet. I'll stop by there again if I'm in the area.
